Title: Map rotation for both NA/EU

So, after looking at all the map files and rotation(thanks to porthos and his friends and also Teeth for the detailed information on the siege rotation), I've decided to start from scratch and redo all the map files.

Some reasons why:
-Changing maps for admins is a mess on all servers. Almost all the map names are misplaced in the files and rotation, so switching maps is a task.
-I think we have way too many maps loaded up in rotation. We could cut this down to at least say 4 maps and then keep adding the old maps that players want to play or new maps from players.
-Could help with maintaining people in servers. It's been a while since map rotation has had a huge change. I think this will be refreshing for all players.

I'll need some help from the community on what maps they want in rotation for Battle, Siege, and DTV. I'd like to start out small, say around 5 maps on each game mode. After everything gets figured out, we can start adding a lot more maps that you the community wants to play.

It would be a huge help if someone takes on the task of grabbing the communities feedback on maps and posts on here. Would make everything go a lot faster ... :mrgreen:

DTV maps are mostly... fine? I think. Long time ago Spanky Ham re-did a whole lot of them with help of a few other guys, I think not all made it into the rotation but few could be changed out, for example Mines of Moria, MAAAYBE Helm's Deep Rohan, not sure about the others.

Off the top of my head, maps that should stay in DTV rotation are:

Spanky Ham Istiniar (no unreachable places, no fences making it a tiny labyrinth, good open map)
Spanky Ham Yaragar (again, no unreachable stuff, one of the best DTV maps)
Thranduil's Motte and Bailey (?), the map with the wooden fort that goes down into a wide courtyard, enemies spawn outside
Generally the balance is good when there are both good defensible positions near the Virgin and some free area outside for cavalry to work.

Here (http://forum.melee.org/suggestions-corner/bring-back-old-dtvirgin-maps/), somewhere in the thread there are a couple old but reworked maps done by Spanky, together with all the files needed. :D

For a start you could add a bunch of the native maps
Arena, Field by the river, Ruins and so on...

A mix of old open maps, and new Fips shitty maps (if we must keep them) would be nice for DTV. I just would be happy with a bit more variety (eventually)... how do you tell the name of a map if you are playing it?

Map names messed up. QMD and QMU gives the wrong info:
Almost all the map names are misplaced in the files and rotation
My advise is to use logs in your Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Logs folder or just Program Files\MountBlade Warband\Logs if you don't use steam. It will be showed like this:

So, just take screens while you're on the map you want to figure out name of, and then compare time of when your screenshot is taken (right click to show the img file properties), and see what map was loaded by that time in logs.

Also since it's about map input I would request Tilimsal for DTV,
I made a remake for it once after an Admin started it on the original map on the dtv ages ago and the people loved it..
It's village_109 and as all maps I made totaly untested but working.. I would keep track of it and make changes if needed/requested but it's realy a nice map :wink:

Hmm checked my webspace once again, well I'm not sure if these maps there are more updated than the current ones at the moment, and I'm just about to go sleeping but I put them together maybe someone wants to check them before I do the next weeks..
I will update them when they're unstable or something older, and try to get my old list somehow back the next weeks I guess..

Well I'll look inside tomorrow, but I guess some of them are broken as well I'm not sure how old they are and so on I lost the overview about the order I made all maps in my storages some time months ago so I have to check it out tomorrow but already wanted to give you a view..

Lol for something like currency I would throw out tons of native villages converted for dtv :lol:
Each one is a masterpiece so 3 lps per map should be enough  :shock:

For dupre again adding these, is somehow like steamrule: he owns 20% of everything.
So a complete rotation will be kinda expansive :oops:
