Title: E3 2015 thread
Post by: Xant on June 16, 2015, 01:39:42 pm
Can we get some sort of a master list of good games being displayed there + big announcements? Mainstream gaming sites are gay to navigate.

I was hoping someone else might create a good list but whatever (based on my preferences):

Dark Souls 3
Dishonored 2
Doom 3
Fallout 4
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Ion
Just Cause 3
Mass Effect Andromeda
Mirror's Edge 2
Sea of Thieves
Star Wars Battlefront
The Last Guardian

Sony announced Kickstarter campaign on their stage for Shenmue 3

It has been successful already (2 million bucks in few hours) and you can expect other companies to abuse Kickstarter in the same way, to ask ransom for versions of their game on specific platforms which aren't initially planned (due to IP ownership, funding etc). Dark days are in front of us.

Ghost Recon Wildlands and Dishonored 2 are probably my two most anticipated games. Possibly Hitman if they don't fuck it up

Edit: just finished the Wildlands trailer, supposed to be open world? Damn, could be REALLY good then. If Ubisoft doesn't Ubisoft it up...

So EA have announced a new Mass Effect set in a different galaxy. Not many other details really given on that but looking at next year. Could be shite if they don't up their game.

I'm actually looking forward to Just Cause 3. Really enjoyed 2.

Lel so edgy m8. Wolfenstein 3D, Doom 1-2, Quake, Unreal Tournament gameplay belongs in the 90s.

GR: Wildlands looks pretty sweet. Ubisoft makes great trailers, though.

Welp, Sony just resurrected the consolemy old friend I had in me several years ago on the golden age of consoles.

As if Dark Souls 3, The Last Guardian and Shenmue 3 weren't already huge "jumpstarters", it sure reanimated when I got overloaded with feels with the remake for Final Fantasy 7, after so many years of them insisting it would never happen.
   Sony won.

If Half-life 3 had been announced too, I'm not sure the intertubes would resist the apocalypse.

FFVII will be timed exclusive. Only true exclusive from that list is The Last Guardian. Better buy Samsung 4K TV and pay PSNow sub for a month, then rent the exclusives you want to play. Most Sony exclusive games aren't input lag sensitive.

XCOM2 which already has its own thread and another Tomb Raider (Rise of the Tomb Raider) game. The latter will prly have no PC version which is a bit disappointing. At the risk of being laughed at, but I enjoyed the first Tomb Raider featuring "young Lara" quite a lot back in 2013.

Atleast it's better than shitty early access rust/dayz clones that never gets released or obnoxious indie games. Plus most of these AAA games are getting released on PeeCee as well.

Always though he's a massive douche, but dude's actually big time nerd. Seems that the truth is, he developed a mod, masses went crazy over it, he couldn't cope with it or deliver what he promised (probably under influence of the huge hype himself) and things happened the way they did. He also said that he planned to leave DayZ project a lot earlier, plan was to sell it to Bohemia so they can develop it.

DayZ is looking better than ever based on what they've shown on E3 PC Gaming Conference. They are coming back to the roots, survival aspect of the game.

Years have gone by, but frankly speaking none of the survival games are at DayZ level. Even Sony tried and miserably failed to copy the formula. DayZ still has a future.

Are you serious? DayZ is in a horrible state, and plenty of survival games are at DayZ level or above. All they've been adding is some new items, improving the map a bit, and a small feature here and there. No real large changes to the game since alpha came out, which was fucking years ago and the game is still plagued by the same issues that were there initially. Even the largest fanboys on dayz subreddit are giving up hope of seeing a decent game in an acceptable timeframe. And now they're going to work on a singleplayer dayz, which is not going to help much, because dayz in it's core is a horrible survival game, even more so played solo.

Yup DayZ just does not function at all in it's current state. It's horrible to play. I dip into it every few months and can only usually play for an hour or so before putting it aside again and accepting that nothing at all has changed in any updates.

I was watching that Horizon: New Dawn. I really liked the first part introducing the planet as nature had reclaimed all after civilisation collapse, with humans being a part of tribes similar to neolithic times. But then these robots came in and kinda ruined it for me. But watching a bit more, still kind of looks interesting but real animals would have been much better than robots for me ^^ Anyone else seen it, find it a little interesting? It's the only E3 game that piqued some interested other than Falllout 4, Battlefront, The Division and Max max (maybe).

This made me angry, all I have to say is, these jobs aren't down to Gender or Race, they are down to being qualified, suited and quite often connected for the exact job. Forced diversity has ruined workplaces in the UK, where companies pretty much HAVE to be employing some minorities and different genders ( mostly where it's a woman wanting a job in a male dominant environment ) regardless of skills just because they're afraid of being crucified as racist or as against diveristy. I don't want a woman representing something just because she's a woman, the same as I don't want a person getting a job just because of their skin colour, regardless of what it is.

Also women just generally fuck shit up outside of the kitchen lol, gaming has been fine without women, I don't want them to cater to women just to make them feel equal, they should earn their jobs like the men did that have those jobs. Fuck bitches.

Fool, racism and sexism is completely fine as long as white men are the target. It doesn't matter how many competent men lose their jobs because of a quota, as long as we get diversity for the sake of diversity.

These people are just completely detached from reality:

Yea, things like that are just silly.
A firewoman won't be able to rescue a fat person from a fire - strong male could.
A police woman won't be able to catch a fast burglar - a male could.
A female soldier might not be able to drag a comrade from enemy fire cuz of gear weight - a male comrade could.

A thief doesn't run slower cuz the officer in pursuit is female.
A person isn't less heavy cuz the firefighter is female.
A hit soldier and his dead weight won't become lighter cuz a female is trying to drag him.
A drunk won't really hit less hard cuz the officer in the fight is female.

That isn't sexism - it is a simple fact that the male body is capable of higher power output than a female body. Women have other strengths but physiology isn't one of them when it comes to simple, raw power.
