We, the Stromgarde clan have prepared a reward for finishing a "hard" map. The reward will be paid for entire team, regardless the score of particular players.

How do you take part in it? Simple: play DTV, win a map that is not on the list below, post screenshots here of both the entire playerlist and the killed 3rd wave of tincans.
After that, we'll personally message each player from that list, telling them to put up a trade and congratulating them. :)

There is no time limit, the first team to do the did and post it gets the reward. The contest may be done again after it's completed once, if the reception is positive :)

The idea behind this contest is simple - many players drop in motivation whenever an "old DTV" map comes up. This should motivate them to try and succeed even on the hard(er) maps, because all maps there are to be enjoyed - not avoided.

Reward will be 50k gold for each player (1,5 million for the whole team, but it may increase if people are willing to donate/our members donate more).
There will also be a special reward for:

Offensive melee player with highest score - 1 loompoint and a +3 item of the players choice from Richy's collection. (A market jew, so maybe he'll have something fun)
Archer player with highest score - 1 loompoint
The most valuable shielder, BUT not the same person as the "Offensive melee" (hard to judge the contribution, therefore will be picked by a poll by players from the team) - 1 loompoint

Successful run should be proved with appropriate screenshots/recordings that contain both the proof of beating the last wave of Tincans and entire team's playerlist. There is no need to make screenshots/recordings in case if the team will include one of Stromgarde members:

•Stromgarde_Sashandra
•Stromgarde_Dutchman

 dtv_celtic_ruins
 dtv_thermopylae
 dtv_ozin_sea_raid
 dtv_motte_and_bailey
 dtv_turin_castle
 dtv_lichens_island
 dtv_grunwalder_castle
 dtv_village_1 – new version of Yaragar map included in last large update.
 dtv_village_64 - map with a hut that greatly lowers the difficulty.
 Maps where victory was once achieved
 Maps with impassable huts, fences, unreachable roofs.

Those maps are not included because they are deemed as too easy to complete by a competent team. We're aiming harder than this  :twisted:

The amount of reward as well as list of excluded maps may change in time, we will update this thread in that case (there is a huge chance that rewards will be increased and some maps will be deemed too easy).

Q: So, I register my team or what?
A: No, your team is the team on the server in the moment you beat the last round. Of course you can invite your mates and coordinate to reach the goal, but that is all optional. The purpouse here is simply to motivate to enjoy even the harder maps that require more than a simple shieldwall.
 
Q: And what happens if someone joins in the very end and the team wins? He didn't really contribute...
A: That is a necessary evil, but one we're ready to deal with, because 1) usually on later waves people don't quit and 2) server is full, so such join-ins shouldn't happen too often. And if it does, well, if the player contributed, they still did help their team, maybe even saved them :wink:

Q: So me and 2 other friends just finished one of the hard maps all alone at 4 AM, where's our gold?
A: Because the goal here is to encourage the general population, we believe that the reward should apply to the biggest amount of the players possible. Therefore, we will probably not accept the "borderline" wins, as in low numbers (which equal fewer bots to fight) and really late hours (when general population is generally sleeping). Yes, this isn't the best solution, but it's subjective. :(

Yesterday, I saw a 30-man team fail on bandits on Sea Raid. Trust me, this may actually be a real challenge to some :lol:

Also, just to clear it up - we won't disqualify a team that is say, 20 people big if they happen to win. And they will get 1.5kk gold split between 20 players, so 75k per head.

I've not seen beating Tincans for weeks now, not even on easy Sea Raid and Thermopylae. Guess this competition may actually motivate some to make an effort while playing, instead of leeching in the back cause the last round will be lost anyway; after dozen of max. reward rounds. (I remember people suggested even higher reward for beating Tincans)

This challenge in the HRE-server by the way ... I'd give like 10 +3 items for that ... knowing this is impossible anyway without very cheap tactics, but fun.

Did happen more or less recently, cannot remember which map it was, but I guess it will take a while until it happens again :D

In the meantime we gotta get more gold together to have another pot ready once the current one is won.

Last wave is tincans.  I made it so many times with a small group (ok, on easy maps) but I could never beat the last wave because it contains all the bosses from all rounds before + chadz (but he is weak lel).   
Damn this wave is so hardcore ;_;

I need to get some +3 bodkins so I can snag the top archer score. Tatar arrows wreck the earlier waves, but after the virgin/viscount wave it takes me 4+ headshots to kill a single enemy. I kinda miss my gen as 36/12 2H build. If you have a shieldwall, you'll be on top of the scoreboard every single time.

Edit: And it's full of wankers leeching, who add to bot count but don't help the cause.

I don't feel aimed at, I had the second highest kill count on the map while being in low armor. Low armor =/= leeching.

Wasn't talking about low armored guys, but those chatting around viscount while two or three players actually fought bots. Couldn't stay for long though, this new DTV is mind-numbingly boring.

What is the point? If it was supposed to be easy we might as well add the old Isti, Yaragar, Rizi etc to the rotation again where we would just exploit the map layout to kill all bots while not even getting in danger.

That is what the competition is for. To make people put effort in it in hope to get quite a bit of gold, maybe even a loompoint.
If they still leech, then it is their own loss.

Artorius_, Aara, Kazy, Grandmaster_Dalfador, Elder_Luker, Wix_the_Engineer, DeathBringer24, Sexy_Flurry, Northman_Mikhos, TCC_The_Celtic_Warrior, Eirik_Lightbringer,
Dracul_HappyPhantom_ATTS, Schoi_Asian_Boy and BuLLDoG_ (probably the largest NA DTV team in last few months) for winning a hard map!

A smaller reward will be paid out, 650k gold and 2 loom points (no shielder chosen as a recipient) will be paid out to the team.

The main reward still stands - 1.5mln gold and 3 loom points for 3 best players, EXCEPT now you require a minimum of 20 players to qualify. This was a one-time reward, because NA is in state it is, so gotta appreciate any activity  :D

And what about people who were there for a big part of the map but left towards the end?
Does this map count? I call dibbs on the most annoying troll of the game either for myself or for Bloody_Ciri.

Offensive melee player with highest score: Herlish
Archer player with highest score: Leesha (crossbow)
The most valuable shielder: DRO_MrOtto I think was the one agreed upon, although some others were also very useful in chasing enemy ranged.

Pics: Only Jacko shows as dead but the amount of dead bots, scores, etc make it clear it is not Tihr wave, it just took a while to get to him.

Think the map is a bit too easy, only one small chokepoint and 5-10 bots on the right. And even a hut to take pressure off the chokepoint.

DRO_MrOtto - The most valuable shielder (we believe that he deserves it - he initiated the 'hut-stuff' and was there until the end - reward of 1 lp)

The rest of the team will receive full reward (50k gold per player)

I believe we're forced to stop the competition, until we'll gather enough resources

DTV competition is back!
Finish one of the 'hard' maps and collect the reward!
The list of maps stays the same with one additional rule - the map which was already beaten doesn't count (you can see the ss of it in the previous post)

The reward is also the same, 1.5 million gold for the entire team (50k gold per player in case of full team) + special reward (3loompoints).
