Title: How did you start c-RPG
Post by: Tojo on June 11, 2015, 06:03:42 pm
Story Time! I had first heard of crpg from my younger brother who played with his friends. The game was very unique as I Hadnt ever played Mount and Blade before. I was immediatley obsessed with the game having loved Medieval and Feudal times. At the time I was studying feudal Japan so my 1st character rolled was a Yumi/Katana weaboo. I found a clan full of weaboos, which had fun members and were active known as Red Lotus.

My 1st post:
" hello, i am a level 25, Archer/2handed samurai class.
I have talked to a few of your memeber including Mike_defender and Oda.
I want to add to the strength of the clan through the blood of your enemies...

Current gear includes...
Head: Heavy strange war mask
Body:Heavy strange armor / Steppe armor
Boots:Heavy strange greaves
2h Melee: Mace / Katana
Bow: Yumi (Bodkin)

no heirloomed gear yet"

share your beggings and lets reminisce on what crpg was!

My very first character was a viking themed guy named Skraeling. I remember hiding behind walls and inside little sheds with other peasants to try and get some of the area-based XP from veteran players fighting nearby. I remember that it felt like it took forever to save up and get a nordic huscarl's helmet and byrnie. Then I decided to get riding skill and buy a rouncey. It took me weeks to get enough gold.

I was god-awful at M&B and cavalry made it much easier for me! Only 1 attack direction! You don't need to block since you just do drive-by attacks! I don't think I ever got him high enough level to retire, and ended up playing my crossbow character for several generations.

Here's my first post. As you can see, I have always been a Quality Poster:

Played first in 2012 octobre, havent got a valid warband key until this day.

(click to show/hide)

I first joined Eu2 and got "nudged" by some weaboos (op pls), then I reported them because it was obviously suggested, he said "lol" and his clanmates raped me 5 times on spawn....
Never started cRPG then again until 2013-14, I think it was january 2014. I was bored and just joined EU 1 for fun.

THEN, true story, I totally freaked out the moment I spawned.
Some retards in Lederhosen with the von_Krems name tag and the austrian eagle banner were jumping around. I just totally lost it because my city is located in Austria too and its actually called Krems (~20k pop.) At this moment, a friend and me decided to join them :D

But then I got told its named after the Castle in Steiermark.... lame

I was playing FullInvasion with some disturbed Netherlander and an extremist muslim from Sweden (but an awesome dude overall) for half a day, doing our LotR roleplay, after which the muslim (Kareem) asked me if I ever played cRPG. I said no, and you can see where this is going.

Then I joined for the first time, he tutored me a little, for some reason it made me addicted. Joined the clan he was in, Risen, after leaving it we made Yeniceri (basically english-speaking Kapikulu), funs were had, dramas too.

I played as a two-hander, with a scale armor and a longsword. I have no excuses...

My first forum post(s, 3 of them) is failing for a really lame joke and then editing it 2 years later to try and erase the shame...

I miss Kareem

I first learned about c-rpg from a gameplay video from around 2011 when there were battles with over 120vs120 peeps, lmao. So yeah it looked interesting since you could have your own "persistent" character and stuff, able to have your own equipment etc.

Problem was back then I didn't have the cash needed to buy a legit copy of M&B, fail. So then I just forgot about the game for like 2 years. 2013 I found out about it on google, again.

So I returned around early 2013 and the drama began. End of story.

I didn't even bother to register a forum account, I prefer to drama ingame instead of doing that in the forum like most people. :^)

Tried warband on release, combat is good but no levling or anything in MP, bored within hours. Come back 2 or 3 months later, see cRPG servers (i think this is how i found it) google it and RIP life.

I was looking for a new game after being thoroughly disappointed by RO2 after RO:Ostfront and remembered seeing a video by ripperx with transvestites in strat. Wanted to get into Mount & Blade way before then but it looked too hard to get into and put it off

Honestly don't remember the exact time when I started playing. Some friends gave me Warband as a gift a couple of months after release, and one of them (Unreal, whom was part of the irc:// clan aka admin/dev clan) told me to try that mod, which features large battles with lots of players.
Gave it a go, started an hybrid longsword/archer (oh the shame...) and so 5k+ hours were stolen from me by the donkey team. Thanks Obama.  :|

I had a not-so-legit copy of warband for ages, enjoyed the single player quite a bit.
So I had a look for some mods and found cRPG, installed it and hopped on a server, but had no clue how the whole thing works. (For some reason my pirated key worked on cRPG)
Now I know that I had been on DTV, I asked how I could get better gear but no response. So I left and did not return until about a year later or so when I bought Warband when it was on sale.
Then I rediscovered the mod.
I then actually figured out how it works with the help of other players and got into it. (Though it was tough since I had only played Singleplayer up until then, and that only with cheated stats so I was almost as op as the chadz bot on HRE dtv :D (Nah, was actually even more op)
So I never had to learn how to play properly, until I started playing cRPG.

Now I am still here and realise that this is a fucking deathtrap and I wish I had never rediscovered it. Too late now though, can't stop.

Decided to try out mods one day. Found cRPG, my first multiplayer experience, when it was but a mere whelp. Sucked for 3 years then decided to try out blocking. Joined SKoT.

Played native MP a bunch on the POM servers. Heard them trashing crpg for weeks. Decided not to try it.. then said fuck it and tried it.

I don't play native anymore.

I played native on the Australian server for some reason. It was always populated when I was on and they were really nice people. One guy had a naked clan on there and they went to play crpg and asked if I'd join them. I did, I don't play native anymore, nor on the Australian servers.

My first character was a samurai archer shielder hybrid. I'm going to resurrect him next gen for shits and giggles, complete with an atrocious build.

Edit: I'm American and my ping was always like 260 something there. Good times....

I had some friends over around the time of my birthday, and a couple of them tried to convince me to use my birthday money to get this game called Warband. Not being much of a gamer, I shrugged them off saying that there have been no good medieval action games yet, so I doubt this could be as good as they said. However, the way they described the controls did intrigue me, so eventually I downloaded the demo from steam. The demo was pretty lackluster, and all I remembered from it was riding around on a horse lancing targets. I remembered that the horse controls sucked and it all felt very awkward. Well, they ended up buying it for me as a belated birthday present since I was so stubborn in early 2011 or so, and since they both played crpg, that's where I got my start (never played native multiplayer until sometime last year).

I played siege for mostly all of my first gen, and very rarely wandered into DTVillage only to get raped by spamming peasants or bandits and then just hide in the ruins while everyone else made a shieldwall and used massive 2handers to slaughter weaboos and such. Good times. I played up until level 30 using a longsword with a shitty build of 18-17 (converting points is an advanced feature, okay?). Since it took me months to get to level 30, I decided to retire and then use the newly-implemented stf feature (or at least newly-discovered) so I could be back at level 30, with the build I actually wanted, 12-27 (and of course the respec feature was added a short time after this, QQ). Needless to say being a straight up agi whore when I could rarely block more than 1 swing led to very quick deaths in NA2, but my reasoning of "well if I run faster, at least I can get back to the action sooner" seemed flawless at the time. Only after I took a several-month-long break, and created my first alt, a str-and-plate-crutching danish greatsword user, did I really learn how to block. I spent at least 95% of three gens on my alt solely in DTV, and once I emerged I was surprised to find that I no longer sucked, and could do fairly well in siege for a change. During my exile in DTV, Finnian Tiercel of HoC recruited me and thus in the fall of 2012 I joined them and dragged one of my friends who got me into crpg with me. This was our first experience being involved with a clan, and strat, and as a result we both started playing a lot more. Then my buddy REDGAR's laptop died, and he hasn't been seen on crpg since (RIP in peace). I've been active on-and-off ever since, and the rest is history.

I think they have classes for that.

Anyway I find crpg by joining a Bear Force 2 Regiment called the Imperial Army, we did event battles a lot with a faction called the Third Republic Legion who let us use their ts. Eventually we disbanded and I asked to join them, at the time they were playing crpg and I joined just as we reformed from 3rdRL to SKoT. This happened june or july of 2013. I sucked back then and used a xbow/shielder wearing Rhodok gear. Good times.

I think I joined 1st or 2nd week of cRPG, thinking that leveling should have been in Native. Then I made a voulge swinging armored dude. Made a "clan" with just me and my friend torost, called POLLY. (We had the green bird logo)

Then I found it was way too easy to play like that and easily slaughtering everyone, so after seeing Shinobi play with a Ninjaesque outfit I decided to make the Ninja clan. Rest is history.

I started like 2 years ago. I was playing Mercenaries this time, but after switching to inf there and getting teamkilled 15 times in a row (Im not joking) I decided to change something. Than Qoray told me cRPG rox! I joned Eques, played 3 gens melee than I decided that low lvl is boring and went high lvl. I did not retire since my 3rd gen. Now I got on my main 200 mio xp :3

I was in high school, first year. Friend of mine suggested to try smoking marijuana and curiosity got the best of me. After that it was mostly searching for stronger drug to keep me going, with occasional trips to hospital for recovery programme. Then I found cRPG and all of a sudden heroin stopped being such a big deal to me. Wish I stayed on heroin tho, much healthier lifestyle.

Cassia, man or woman you may be, I  want you to know when I see you on dtv or whatever it makes me happy. When I see anyone on any servers it makes me happy. All of you are horrible people and yet endearing at the same time. I love you all even the shitlords. You do you.

I refuse to be happy at anyone's death. Life is a most precious thing to waste on any addiction. Be thankful you're alive and be thankful for every minute you are fortunate to spend in this lifetime. It's better than the one you've lived previously and if you don't fuck it up, it will be better than the one you haven't lived yet.

I had never heard of Warband untill my friends forced me to install it in 2011. Never liked the campaign too much since I only play multiplayer games, but c-rpg saved this game for me.

Didn't take long untill we formed our Von Perkele family and got into anti-archery business. Oh those old good times when we all had arbalest and went out hunting MikariN, GK HA's and other old die-hard archers.  8-)

All barabes I usually played with had crpg so I had to get myself as well. I still remember my first charcter, the build was so screwed up. It was 18/17 1h-shielder/thrower. That was over 2 years ago I think. I loved Mount and Blade before already so I kind of got obsessed with crpg. What I remember most from the time I was new was Deserter_HaveAtThee who has been raping everyone with his shielder in that time :)

I had played Warband multiplayer a couple of times but never got really hooked, until a friend told me about cRPG and we and some others started playing, peasants following plated knights who slaughtered everyone as we leeched that xp! I remember the website was so shabby back then, and there weren't forums if I remember correctly, but the game had become much more interesting, and I learnt how to play in cRPG and that friend is no longer my friend.

I think one of the main reasons I tried CRPG was that I was really bad at M&B. On vanilla servers I could never afford more than the default equipment set, my score was always like 2-17 or something like that.

CRPG promised that I could have permanent items, and once I earned them they wouldn't poof when my team lost or I logged off. Being able to level up your multiplayer character like the singleplayer mode was cool too. but mainly it was the persistent gear.

Used to play the Mount & Blade demo when it was still in production. Pretty sure I got it form a PC gamer magazine 05 or something. Picked up WB sometimes after release, always been a big fan of the countless SP mods. Tried the regular multiplayer but never liked it. Stumbled upon cRPG the first week or so after release, played it since (top 12 at first character reset!).

Being severely limited by my toaster like computer (not even kidding, the amount of noise that thing made was compared to a jet plane taking off when I was in teamspeak), I decided to to play this game my brother showed me awhile back called Mount and Blade Warband; played it for a couple days was like meh and moved onto NW. I joined a regiment there, we got tired of NEC line battle bullshit and decided to move over to crpg and formed a little known clan called Phoenix. Helped the remnants out at the end of Strat 3. However I rarely ventured out into the world of PvP, and spent a majority of my time in Na_7 where I met some of my good video game/internet friends. After Phoenix moved on to play DoTA and LoL, like every skilled gamer ever, I formed up my own clan which quickly died out, and then I joined HoC at the bequest of Jona.

I had cracked MB and someone told me that they released warband and it has multiplayer , i was so hyped, what i imagined was cRPG exactly , then I found the crack and played for a while. Then I found out cRPG actually existed, wanted to play but turns out I needed an original Warband to be around the rich boys. Then I completely forgot about it. Around a year later - I bought the game lol - I decided to try mods out and i thought , oh there was this thing called crpg let me try it out. My only regret in life.

Found Mount and Blade in late 2008 or early 2009, and played tons of hours in the campaign with a pirated copy of the demo. Then Warband came around and I kept playing singleplayer, until I eventually decided that I had played more than enough hours to warrant buying the game.
At some point I got tired of the campaign, and decided to try the multiplayer servers out. Played native for a while, and found it a bit bland, wanted customization and perhaps a campaign. Tried PW and didn't really like it. So I read about cRPG/Strategus and it sounded like what I wanted. And I sank even more hours than I had already sunk into this game. Still love my original 1h/Shield/Archer build (with a horse at times).

M&B was one of my favourite games, I was playing single, native multiplayer and mods. I heard somewhere that there is a mod where you have multiplayer but get exp like in singleplayer. That was of course cRPG.
I registered in 2013, joined probably the siege server. I was running around the walls looking at the fights, asking how can I get better items until someone finally answered. Then the map changed, I got killed by high-lvl armored people, I got pissed off and looked for diffrent servers. I joined eu7 or HRE. I liked the fact that people worked together to kill bots and that I won't get killed all the time. It was foggy and dark, weaboos were running down the hill and people were standing behind some fence. I was yelling in chat that I click spawn and nothing happens.
Finally it worked and since then I am slaughtering bots on eu7 and HRE :P.

I joined back in autumn 2011 and honestly I don't know how I found out about cRPG anymore, my guess is I have been under despicable HA influence for too long that it affected my braincells by now. Anyhow I was not like this in the beginning, I used to be known as CCleaner, just another random medium/heavy armor 2-hander, sometimes pole-user, always despised shielders for their cowardice, nothing special, average at skill just as I was on scoreboard but oh boy did I enjoyed the EU_1 Battle, it was so diverse, people played literally everything. Well everything comes to an end right, yeah....

Around late 2012, early 2013 the Age of diversity was fading, and new age was dawning, Age of 2-handing sperglords led by autistic macro-overlord Qoray, rice-devouring Danish-Vietnamese transsexual Phase and I-got-epileptic-attack-just-by-spectating Spamwhore. I was cut down so many times wondering how they do that, it was abnormal, the movement, the way they bend their body and connect to yours, almost an art, it was something I came across for the first time (later however I've heard it's called macro's). The chat praised their names after they'd won against impossible odds, they were demi-gods among us, filthy casuals who served only to bump their e-peens, pitifull meatbags.

And so it was around mid 2013 that I quit playing for few months so that I could play League of Legends work on my master plan, a way of getting my revenge on those who abused "legal" ways of enhancing their ability's.

And so i came back, but not as CCleaner anymore, he died, died long ago struck down by macro 2-handers, the one who returned was niluK, mentally scarred man, twisted, devoid of emotions, with only one goal, to bring those 2-handers on the brink of madness, shooting them just a little bit out of their range while they hopelessly are trying to catch him, watching them screaming in agony on chat, seeking justice in a form of nerf. Unfortunately the madness didn't stop there, once 2-handers were hunted down, they turned to Archers desperately trying to counter me.

Needless to say...the fight is still on and it will last until last server of cRPG goes off

Always assumed you bought CCleaners account and you are Kulin_ban. BTW I don't think those guys use macros, its just abusing animations by looking down and holding left click while right clicking and swinging left and right

Came in from the world of competitive text-based pvp. I shit you not.

Played Warband. Found Ripper's vid on cRPG, joined it. Got ladderpaulted. Died for like three months, first as a peasant (due to xp mechanics, etc, you had to follow a heavy armored guy or someone who could block around) following some knight and then in the duel server.

LOVE AT FIRST DEATH.

I was here at the start, probably first week the mod launched. Had played Mount&Blade in the past, and bought Warband purely for the multiplayer. What I had envisioned was a sort of persistent world type game, basically M&B but online, and the Warband multiplayer experience was a big disapointment, being no more than medieval Counter Strike. When I heard about cRPG I immediately downloaded the mod and have been stuck here since. The persistent leveling, being able to customize a character in both skills and equipment, was the highest draw. Had high hopes for Strat, but burnt out on it after the first reset. It was an ambitious vision but it failed to deliver on the potential promise. I apologize to chadz and all those who worked on it when I say this, I know it represents a shitton of work and personal investment, but Strat failed, in a way that cRPG (still medieval counter strike, true, but with a huge amount of added tweaks, equipment, etc) never did. Even if it's final days cRPG is dying more gracefully than Strat.
