If you're biking properly you barely use the seat anyways... it's all in the knees.

Is it actually your butt that is sore? Biking after winter break makes my no-mans-land between balls and butt sore.

It's always like that after not riding a while even for a butt used to it. The weather is finally bike friendly here and I'll be spending much time on the bike up until October/November. When I start my butt also hurts for about a week, I just keep riding and eventually you just get used to it. It will get better jusk keep riding.
