Tekken all the way, simply because i havent touched anything else except a slight bit of SSBB. Nostalgia bias aside and forgetting ive ever played one its probably the one i would pick out of the lot anyways because the ridiculous juggle combos and characters are all really cool imo.

Actually i did play mortal kombat aswell, but it doesnt compare to tekken.

Anyone getting 7 on PC? Im wanting to get into TTT2 but just too lazy to start up my ps3 most of the time. So far it seems to lack characters unfortunately but all are not announced yet.

I dislike tekken because it feels extremely sluggish to me. Also, regardless of the style, characters in tekken only fight barehanded. SC for me all the way.

The only fighting games I ever enjoyed (and still enjoy) are the Smash Bros Series and Skullgirls...and both games are laughted down by beat´em up-communities for not being real fighting games...pff, those fat pigs and their fighting stick controller fetish

In tag2 yoshimitsu has a crapton of moves involving his sword. Awesome character in general now, so varied. I think i played some hours of SC on my psp, felt way more sluggish than tekken, but i guess any fighter feels like that compared to others, its what you get used to.

Soul Calibur on Dreamcast is the only fighting game I truly enjoyed (Mortal Combat comes next). Tried Tekken with friends couple of times, kinda boring. Also, Tekken was one of PS exclusives and I despise Sony and PS. Hate Street Fighter with passion.

Also remember playing this as a kid. Looks like garbage but seemed kinda cool to 9 year old Leshma. Never seen the show game is based upon.

In terms of fun.. super smash.

Could play that for hours with friends as we ganged up on each other and called each other every name in the book. Was hilarious.

Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja and all the serie of naruto fighting game, not very known but very fun. And one of the particular thing is that you musn't touch any key if you want your character to block attack.

Gonna have to vote smash, since I've definitely sunk the most hours into it and got the most fun out of it (come at my Project M Roy).

If I had to pick a "real" fighter game, I would vote for mortal kombat.

In terms of nostalgia though... little fighter 2 all the way!  :mrgreen:

Out of this list i'd pick Tekken definitely (Feng is my fav character).
But lately i've been really hooked up on Injustice. It's really just a more fun and dynamic version of the latest MK installment with lot's of great improvements to the basic mechanics of Mortal Kombat. Fun and unique characters, nice moves list and it's really easy to play  (i play it all the time with my GF and guests who have no idea what they're doing but they still manage to do something cool and flashy and have fun with it), but hard to master. I hope the new MK that comes out in april is more like Injustice than the previous MK, in terms of dynamics and the learning curve.

I wish i hadn't sold my console. Playing fighter games like Injustice on PC sucks without controllers.

I think I have found your problem. And no, SC combat is extremely fast paced, unless of ceouse you are playing on easy. Easy in this game feels like they gve AI lobotomy...

Sluggish doesnt have to mean fast or slow paced, it can also be lack of control due to slow actions etc. Unless you really get into a fightier this is how the game generally feels.

Street fighter has guiles theme though. Tekken is kinda lacking on the memorable music part alltho it does have some good stage music.

I'd confidently give credit to Tekken, Street Fighter and Soul Calibur. They never failed to deliver and deserve their eternal spot on the top. I like Mortal Kombat too, but later installments did not offer the solid fighting experience the earlier 2D versions did.

Also Garou: Mark of the Wolves anyone?
Or Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring (although it wasn't a superb product, it was an interesting experience)?

I thought this community lacked fighting game enthusiasts. Good thing that it obviously doesn't.

SSBB is the only fighting game I became even remotely good at, I love how to a spectator the action on the screen seems so chaotic with all the objects and stuff but at high level you need to be able to use all those fun things optimally or get rekt.

If Tekken 7 doesnt have Roger Jr or Alex i will be slightly annoyed and upset. Started playing TTT2 again, Roger alex tag team alltho im scrublord. Does anyone have this game atm? Could be fun to play some.

I remember how I pawned all my friends with Gon. It was so fun and challenging to use him. Most of them failed at devising clever counter attacks other than crouch kicks. And Dr. Boskonovitch was quite fun too. His weird moves were quite confusing for your opponent. Although it was very difficult master him, you could just frustrate the hell out of anyone with him once you did it.

Dr.B is pretty crazy in TTT2, i hope he's in T7 aswell, such an insanely crazy character, makes me want to play him.

I guess Super Smash Bros. would be my favorite series although I classify them mostly as party games.

Tekken was fun when I played the original tag back in the day though. Lei Wulong and Baek all the way.

Too bad I never had the next gen consoles to play that one. Will have T7 on PC though. It is a sure buy for me.

Also Berenger, there is no way for me to respect you as a Tekken contender when you favorite the two capoeira mashers. But then again Heihachi is my all-time favorite. So I will cut a slack for you there.

I can deal with a spammer in Tekken quite alright. And I will have you know that I have mastered playing with almost all characters (the aforementioned duo included). That doesn't change the fact that spammers are despicable though, does it?

I prefer to be challenged, not tested by autism. The moment I see an idiot appear before me with one of those two characters and start insanely mashing buttons, all the fun disappears in an instant. In my opinion, spammers are quite similar to clueless chess players who have just learnt to attempt a shepherd's checkmate and will try to pull that shit at you as soon as you start. B-O-R-I-N-G!

Spamming only works on a certain level. You'll realize how much you actually suck once someone majorly whoops your ass when all you know is that one move and button mash :D

Soulcalibur and whatever the sequels were named were good fighting games, and to my surprise even Smackdown vs Raw (I think) where you could fine-tweak and customize your personal fighter. But Tekken is the best by far, I used to play Hwoarang and later Lei with his very powerful leg sweeps (many players are worse at blocking down) and being close to the ground most of the time so as to rob his opponent of most of his special moves (also great drunken master) but went more and more over to use Bryan Fury who works excellent for more block oriented fighting style. It's been many years since I played it though sometimes I almost buy a console again just to play Tekken and Red Dead Redemption.

Block and punish with launchers, if they spam they probably dont ever block. That said my friend kept fucking me over with infinite mid and low kick spam with Ancient ogre, cant block for shit and cant low parry it either. Must be mistiming it ugh.

When I was about 14 years old I'd played a lot of Tekken but never really learned blocking very well yet and I went into a game shop where you could play Tekken on a PS1 and told the two friends who were with me to watch me destroy some even smaller kid who was standing there playing. Few minutes later he had obliterated me probably without losing any health whatsoever by only abusing ancient ogre low kicks  :wink:

If you enjoy watching high level tekken plays, Justframejames always delivers. His yoshimitsu is so incredibly enjoyable to watch, some say its all gimmick plays but he pulls off the craziest shit, and has moves for all situations. Around 26 minutes you even get a tasty seppuku kill. And this is tournament plays. I've gotten stuck just continuosly following chains of tournament plays with him in it for hours.

I dont play the game that much but i love watching pro's play it.
