Too bad we dont have an item manager that could look at these and do something about it.

You said you havent been around in a while, so ill just inform you that it seems he has fallen off the planet and has been gone for a very long time.

I really like Black Gambeson and Blacken Druzhina Elite Lamellar Armor :)

Black Steppe Ninja Armor is a great idea too but I think it needs a bit of fine-tuning

Not saying the others are bad, but these are my favorites!

Good work.

Seeing as you've already made Brigandine over Aketon, any chance you could make what I've always wanted in this mod, a black Brigandine over Mail (keeping the white-ish color on the padding as you've done with the brig over aketon) and black Hoses with Kneecaps to go with it?

Thank you for your time.

The heavy armors look beautifull, i even like the bronze one, as for the light and medium armors i wouldnt add any, maybe the ninja armor.

I really wish we had something like the golden horde armor. Nothing matches the golden horde helm, and hardly anything matches the lamellar gauntlets. The brown leather / bronze lamellar looks awesome.

i tried to make a white coat of plates but its hard turning something black into white, can you try to do it? just remove saturation, add bightness and add contrast.

Could you keep the original brown leather color on the shoes perhaps, so it doesn't just go all black? Same with the leather straps on the brigandine to be honest. Your effort is appreciated either way, Alex.

Please make the skirt black as well, and the green arm part either grey, red or blue (these are the colors that fit well with black elements). If you can darken the mail texture, it would be even better.

How can someone apply as a item manager? I am rather interested in cRPG MS files since it sounds alot more different than just python coding.

We need 3 things:

1- More Plate armors (the ones you posted are fantastic)

2- More Recolors of different armors (blue, red, green, and maybe yellow)

3- A NEW ITEM MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT THE PREVIOUS 2

The thread is dead, so it's probably easier to pm a dev or go on irc. From what I know, you need to be experienced, have high standards, and must be willing to bring models up to standards compared to other new items. I believe it can be quite time intensive, possibly too much for an active individual's free time.

The item sheet is a google doc that other python files read data from.

A couple of mods recently went OSP, it shouldn't be hard to implement new plate armors, but what happened to zagibu, i heard he was the current Item manager, is there a chance that will he come back later?

Alright and yes, texturing and modelling can be time consuming indeed, but it is rather interesting since you can learn things from it. San is there any chance i can take a look in the google doc sheet or i have to be part of the item team first? and who should i talk to on irc?

if it is things that can be done by zagibu i believe a modder like me can do the job as well. Originally i thought Zimke Zlovoljni would be the best candidate for this job since he is part of MBG team but ok.

Starting with the Black Tunic, I think it looks odd that the belt, arms, legs, and collar are black as well. All the other tunics have a brown belt, arms and legs in a different shade of greyish brown, and a bit of white cloth you can see at the collar. I suggest that the Black Tunic, just like all the other tunics, differ solely in the color of the main body part, but have the same arm, belt, leg and collar color.

Similarly, the Black Gambeson would look better in my opinion if you took the model of the Blue Gambeson and only changed the padded armor part. Belt, collar, skirt, and arm protection should stay brown. The legs should stay greyish-brown.

I can explain why the best way if you compare the Gambeson and the Red Gambeson. The Gambeson itself is a multicolored model; it has the white padded armor, the green skirt, the brown belt, collar and arm protection, and the greyish-brown legs. If the whole thing would be mono-colored white, it would look mildly interesting. For the same reason, the Red Gambeson kept the green skirt and the brown parts.

The Blue Gambeson is the same as the Red Gambeson and the default Gambeson, apart from the Blue Armor part and the brown instead of green skirt. The designer of the Blue Gambeson seems to share the common opinion that green and blue do not look well together (there are exceptions, but this aversion to combine blue and green is shared by the wide majority of people). Therefore, the skirt is brown. He could have made it blue, but that would look boring, so he made it brown instead.

So please keep the Black Gambeson multicolored and include the brown elements! (Just like blue and green, I would not combine black and dark green, and since lime green is not very medieval, we should stick to brown).

If you want another explanation: The Black Lamellar Vest is not entirely black. It has brown leather elements and a grey collar. If it was mono-colored black, it would look boring. If you want, you can test it and make the Black Lamellar Vest mono-colored black and verify that it looks less interesting than a multicolored Black Lamellar Vest.

I addition, mono-colored items allow less combinations with other items. For example, if the Steppe Armor was mono-colored green, brown shoes would look odd on it. The only leg armor you could use with it would be Green Hose with Kneecops. Since there is an issue with the models (not the textures), and the Green Hose with Kneecops looks "cut off" unless it is combined with the right items (Steppe Armor is not one of them), there would not be any leg armor at all to combine with Steppe Armor. Fortunately, it is not mono-colored, but has brown elements with a slight tendency into red, so it looks good with Woolen Hose and Rus Cavalry Boots, for example.

The Black Steppe Armor texture suffers a bit for the same reasons described above: It is entirely mono-colored and a bit boring. It fits well into a black-and-white movie, but not into a multicolored game. If you agree with me or at least find it worth to check the idea, please upload an image of the Steppe Armor with only its green elements made black. If you wish, you can slightly darken the arm wrappings to make them grey instead of creme white, but please don't overdo it.

Black Brigandine over Aketon looks terrible because of the Purple and Green Hose elements. I do not like the purple and green legs with the red, green and blue version either, but at least it is not pure eye-cancer like in the black version. Please make the legs in some neutral creme white or grey, and a corresponding version of Purple and Green Hose in this color, and then, there will be a bit of hope left for Black Brigandine over Aketon. Another issue with the current picture is that the belt and the fasteners are metallic-silver. It makes no sense for these to be made of steel, so they must have some leather color instead (brown, brown/red, bleached leather, blackened leather, or maybe creme-colored hide).

As for the Black Brigandine over Mail, make sure not to darken the Kneecops because then, we would need darkened kneecops of the same shade on the leg armor as well, and I am not sure if the Black Hose with Kneecops fulfills it. But it is hard to see on the pictures only, so nevermind if I am wrong =)

Brown and Black Rus Cavarly Boots: For safety reasons, change only the boots themselves and leave the trousers as they are, so they remain combinable with other armors.

Bronze Knight and Black Knight Set: Here is no issue at all. Since the original models are mono-colored, a mono-colored color swap does not hurt them at all. However, as mentioned, most of the other models are multicolored and need fine adjustment of each element separately, or some elements should better remain in the current color.

You definitely bring all the technical skills needed for an item manager, but we have to work on your design decisions a little =p Since you are very reactive to feedback, this shouldn't be any issue though. Thanks for this thread :D There is a lot of awesome stuff, and after some fine-tuning, I think all of the items qualify to be included to the mod. The council will make the decision, and we need an item manager of course (which won't be a problem if you will be our item manager).

I'll comment on the other items you presented if I feel like it later and if my suggestions were of any use for you, it's you who implements them or not, after all

Edit: typo

The upper one is awesome, but a bit standardized in style compared to your other models (e.g. new version of Ninja Steppe Armor, same color scheme). Do you mind giving the red another shot? Please try a darker shade as in

Well i don't know ;p, its hard to tell is it good or not unless people tell you what they think. same goes to game developers who need people to find bugs and stuff.

the retextured kaftan is a bit over *gritty* in my opinion, still good overall and you have talents in this, how come you stopped Panuru?

You just come to learn that the community is probably going to be split on most things. Just look at the poll results of the retextured kaftan. Do what you think is best :)

the retextured kaftan is a bit over *gritty* in my opinion, still good overall and you have talents in this, how come you stopped Panuru?

I never really started =D All I have done is a B/R version of Kaftan, a B/R version of Leather Armor and a fix for the Worn Desert Robe model. And I suggested the Black Leather Gloves (but 722 made the model). Basically it is because I never looked into the fancy software stuff. I simply edit the .DSS raw textures directly, without any 3d view on it. That takes time and is probably not the easiest way of retexturing, but one I understood ;)

TL;DR I got the ideas but lack the technical knowledge to implement them without major efforts.

Edit:
You just come to learn that the community is probably going to be split on most things. Just look at the poll results of the retextured kaftan. Do what you think is best :)
Maybe there is an option to add alternative instead of retex items? I dunno, you are the council =p

Thanks man, indeed there are people who prefer western stuff while some people like samurai stuff.  Will do.

...

Interesting, but what i am saying is if you try to learn more things from it i am sure you will become a good modder someday, if only if you keep practice that is ;). if you got any more requests do post them here ;).

the new gothic plate model is very cool, but what about new plate gloves and plate boots in gothic plate style??

They are there but i didn't have the time to post them yet. they do fit cRPG very well in my opinion, will post them soon.

Edit: Posted some small samples on 1st page, take a look whenever you can and see if you like them

It was decided a while ago that we wouldn't be adding many more recolours (unless they were extremely high quality), and cmp hates armors that mix & match meshes from various other armors. One of the things we look for in new meshes, is whether or not it will blend in well with a large number of pre-existing items. We have to check whether or not many items in crpg will for example, clip through large parts of the new mesh (necks/wrists/knees.) We have to check to make sure the bump/spec maps are properly designed for the armor (there was a bit of a backlash with some armors not adhering to this, recently.) Then of course we always have to check to make sure the items are realistic (Afina's previous post would utterly fail that test, for example).

Edit: Some of those new plate sets could probably be added.

Interesting, so thats what happened.  Tydeus could you perhaps download the new meshes posted here and see if they are fit for cRPG? I did some quick test while playing in my sets and i think its ok. What do you think?

Good to hear my efforts are not wasted. BoE is already using some of them, the new sets will definitely bring something to cRPG if they were implemented

Very much any armors can be retextured. A bit busy right now focusing on new items though. As for having more than 1 item manager i agreed with that. Also it seems Zimke's stuff cannot be modified in any way by anyone without his permission so i wouldnt touch those.

wrong post

np i have high hopes for your items to be added onto cRPG, what cRPG need is a item manager right now.

Yep, Cozur asked us before and we let him use it on A Clash of Kings, not just ACOK but we also allowed several mods to use it. if you notice the brf file is named ACOK_Full_Armros, Full means full invasion. He got it from Full Invasion 2, unless you have a problem with it that is. We can even show you screenshots of him asking for our stuff. Nope they are not free to use.

Raylin if you would like to work with them only for cRPG then sure, permission granted. but only for cRPG.

My mod is pretty popular you know? Tons of people plays it, beside cRPG its also one of the most popular multiplayer mod beside NW and PW. well Cozur made very little things in his mod since he is the only person working on the mod so he have to ask alot of people to use their stuff ;p. My team is quite big back in the days not so much now but it happens when you mod. and ok

Edit: i am not a retard, i've been modding for over 5 years. Using stuff without someone's permission is not allowed within the modding section, alot of people got banned for it haha. I've reported several mods in the past that has been removed now.

Cozur didn't took everything from Full Invasion so there will be new stuff which you haven't seen before in our mod. Our mod was made to have all factions from all Era, from medieval up to future including space marines. Anyway have fun :)

China, if you would just finish the belt, cRPG needs your excellent Black Brigandine over Mail. Thank you for your time!

We know that you want this black brigandine over mail. Don't post the same stuff in every thread of ours and please abstain from sending pms unless there is something else you have to say. The black brigandine is clearly wip and far from being finished, even if the belt gets the right color. Alex aka Tak aka China made this thread initially to inspire more items rather than mass producing high quality finished results. The way things have turned out with a team of modelers and an item management forum are far more than expected.

I can tell you so much that we are working on these things. But we haven't even tackled finishing brigandine recolors yet, since there are higher priority projects at the moment and our capacities are limited. Still, you are not ignored, and your feedback and enthusiasm are appreciated. The only thing I don't appreciate is redundancy, because you can imagine that not only you but a whole mob of people posts in the threads and especially sends pms to me about their favorite items, when we are gonna be finished and if the top of the left feather on the helmet 4738292 could be a tiny bit darker. I take notes about people's wishes, but reading them 5 times each is a pain.

Now that we have the Black Brigandine over Aketon, all I need is a Black Kettle Helm (aka the Top Dawg Hat) (with the brim and the forehead cross recolored from yellow to semi-radiant white maybe). If the two get added, there will finally be stuff for me to loom. Needless to say that it will also be an ideal "Pixel Paladins" attire.

You can see that she was fully black, the cloth part at the bottom and the leather parts was not on the good color.

We are glad that you like it, but it really is wip, and no item balancer will give it a yes if I propose it now. Matt already announced he is gonna work on it, so it's just a matter of time now, unless the item balancers still dislike it after matt polished it up.

Looking good. I like the brigs.

Those archer armors though,  looks like assassins creed 2 atm with the options presented for colors. And I can see Life_ going back to being a dagger wielding assassin with it. So that's always cool.

I wish we had more armors that have banner BG color enabled instead of pre-sets.
