Because i have no idea what's wrong with the current battle cycle; been playing siege exclusively (Which i don't need help with atm, got a good idea how to fix those maps); so just qmd the bad maps, tell me the name and what's wrong with it. Or don't do anything and suffer. 8-)

Make every map a bit more like Field By The River :lol:. Best map is best.

Those NC never got in because of their size. Might be something for eu4 for example, but not eu.
No, they're fine for na1, actually. The only time they'll be a problem is for the 3 or so hours each week where NA has 90+ players on. Far more good than bad will be created. Furthermore, we have several smaller maps in rotation as is, so it does seem to be a bit of a contradiction. :P
San'di could use a bit of editing for battle, but Frosty River for example, is perfect as is.

The one with the lake/bathing area in the middle?
That one is good, very divers. Cav can rape outside, ranged can camp the roof, that has two access points, and infantry can hide from cav and ranged in the small alleys. Flags spawns are also very good.

No, not that. Another one. It had a quite a lot of ladders and accessible roffs as well. Its not in current rotation.
I think its name is just "Village".

Fips, why are you against small maps on Eu/NA1 ?
There is this little town with marketplace, or the one with a tunnel on the side and teams are just facing each other.
I know its not really good for cav, but after some terrible maps like the one with the boat on the frozen lake, playing a quick and dynamic map is really a pleasure.

I want to say that generally please don't add poorly done maps. There is one for which I don't remember the name, but: one team starts on elevated terrain and another on lowered, the terrain parts are divided by simple hill line, the lowered part has buildings walls and a straight river in it. It doesn't look good and doesn't play well, usually it's just a mess and elevated team has an advantage of shooting from the hill line.
There are a few other maps but I don't remember them exactly, will record them next time I play, fortunately you can now see real map names in game.

Yes. Remove/alter maps that freely give one side the high ground. Both sides should have the same access to advantageous positions, and there's nothing that beats high ground.
I wouldn't mind if some of you guys are experimental with a few interesting maps as well. I like the smaller maps, even when there are a lot of people on.

100% this!. These open terrain maps are absolutely fantastic. There was another snowy map with a river running through the middle and it was awesome, unfortunately it never seems to come up anymore.

I think some new maps should be added that have a "mirrored" design, where one half of the map is the same as the other, except by being inverted. Many TF2 maps have this design, such as 2Fort, Turbine, and others. This would create a more familiar map that can be easily memorized while giving both teams the same advantages regarding terrain.

An in game voting system for maps would be a great addition to the game. That way we could filter out the bad maps from the good

Guys, i need some more specific feedback here. That general blabla "maps should have this and that" might be fine for the usual QQ thread or for future implementations, but right now i need "Map XYZ is bad because 123 isn't placed right and 456 should be higher/lower", because the few times i play battle doesn't really show me any of the problems.
If you wanna dig through all of the maps, here's the current cycle:
@witchy: Yesh please. That little "poll" you did there is quite nice, i will check em out tomorrow. Although some already ring a bell of horror, like iron mine, goat road or chasm =P

Iron Mine and Mountain Warfare both have things that make them broken. Mine has unfair terrain for many classes and you can break inside of the level geometry (one person who hated my map change did this to show how bad the map was). Mountain Warfare spawns one team above and one below. It also has a hilarious tiny shack that one team ended up camping (flags spawn right on front of it sometimes) for excruciatingly long rounds.

Does QMD actually work? I've heard rumors that it doesn't.
His request for QMD-ing is part of a larger sentence, pressing QMD shows you the map name so you are able to give feedback for the correct map.
I guess I have played the battle map rotation enough to know it's faults, I could ask around for more feedback and mess with it again if you want. Don't think I have access to the most recent files anymore though.

I would also appreciate that. Ladders are an advantage for attackers all in all, so a rebalance would be required. For instance, reduce defender spawn cooldown. They could make a test week or so and if it works and people like it, it can stay, otherwise it can be reverted.

I meant bringing ladders back into battle. It would propably break siege completely.

Village. Its called Village and its awesome and we miss it :C
