Title: Restored Sounds
Post by: Rhekimos on June 29, 2014, 10:19:10 pm
As requested a couple times in various places, here's the pre-patch sound set up.

https://www.sendspace.com/file/xjn2rh

How to use:

After updating to the latest version,

1) Go to your Warband/Modules/Crpg folder
2) Delete Sounds folder
3) Download https://www.sendspace.com/file/xjn2rh
4) unpack into your Warband/Modules/Crpg

Important:

If you don't delete your old Sounds folder, you will still get the new female Q menu voices.
DO NOT DELETE THE SOUNDS IN YOUR WARBAND FOLDER, only in Warband/Modules/Crpg.

Optional file for those that like the new male sounds:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/4krjvs

This only restores the female voices. Same usage.

Update ver 2: Added female QQV to both. Thanks to Turkhammer for spotting it.
Update ver 2.1 (full): Added male QQV. Thanks still to Turkhammer.

Muting them does not solve the problem.

1st: The male ones are fine (At least the ones I have heard so far)
2nd: Voice commands are there to communicate quickly, eg. warn a teammate of hostile forces approaching or enemy archers firing or whatever.
Disabing the voice commands takes this way of communication away. No idea about you, but I have saved numerous teammates lives by using the voice commands, and so have I been saved countless times thanks to voice commands.

The female ones are plain annoying and playing with everybody using these shitty voice commands is not enjoyable anymore.

Will this fix affect the voice commands that I hear from other players or just the ones I give?

This replaces all client sounds. So everything that you hear.

true, but 0.3.3.8 changes the sounds players make when they die, you can't mute that, so this is good for reverting it.

It all works except QQV produces no sound for me, just the work Yell on screen.

I think some of the new voices can be kept. I especially like the new QQF + the QG commands

The yell needs to change though, and they need to make it so you can't start a new voice command before the first finishes

I'm probably going to do this. The female sounds in particular are ridiculous; they either sound like a man doing a silly high voice, like in Monty Python, or like cackling old witches.

are the new voices supposed to sound so terrible in an attempt to get people to stop using voice commands?

Take this with a grain of salt, but I've caught word that these new sounds are just place-holders?

Fin said so, that does not make them the situation any better though :D

Will definitely back my sounds folder up, so just in case the old female voices are changed to something else I will still have them :D

what Fin did to the sweet female voice commands is god damn awful and he should be banned for it!

Adding new ones is fine by me but overwriting the sweet ones is just pure herezy!

A darning needle in the ear can also be temporary.

Cheers, mate. Fin's female voices were fun the first 5 minutes. Evolved really fast into headaches.

I don't know someone could like this or could not but was it really necessary having this patch exactly when warband steam sales started? :l

How to restore Voicecommands to V1 / native / V2:

To Restore V1:

Exe the launcher and Repair CRPG.
Download the old Soundfiles and put them into your crpg/sounds folder (replace the old ones if asked).
Download the sounds.txt and replace the sounds.txt in your crpg main folder

Old Soundfiles:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14065016/Back%20to%20V1/Crpg-VC-V1.rar

Sounds.txt:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14065016/Back%20to%20V1/sounds.txt

To re-revert to V2, just repair C-rpg again.

If you want to go back to the native sounds, follow Rhekimos' instructions.

You still have to replace the sounds.txt (link above) afterwards.

I highly recommend repairing your crpg folder BEFORE you do one of those fixes.
