Hello community of old.
I see cRPG sometimes has 220 people on the webpage, not a bad effort, but don't you miss the days when NA_cRPG_1 was full, 200/200 slots? I know I do!
You all can rabble about "how much better cRPG is now", but I think the numbers speak volumes.
This will be riskier than tappin' the town-bike without a dinger on your pole. But if you look at it, it's dying, has been dying, and is basically being held up by a sliced rope.
I've been vouching for vanilla cRPG from day 1, and I still do.
It's a gamble yes, but a gamble that would pay itself off majorly if it could even get half the numbers it used to.

WTF

Do we really need to have the same discussion every few months? Or do people simply have the memory of single-cell organisms?

Clearly, if they think the new crpg is more fun, and forgot the golden days
-
Ye, let us just ignore that this was DONE ALREADY? That the "old, golden cRPG" turned out to be SO FUN, the server hosting it died within a month, peaking at 30 players (the time it took for someone to level their archer)?

If you're referring to xmas cRPG - I'd say the sole reason it didn't survive is due to the lack of awareness - and I know that I'd prefer to play on NA_cRPG with 220 ping if it had old cRPG, than the Australia server with 30 ping if it was running the new "uber funmode awesome mod"
edit: if old-school crpg has been hosted again, then once again, nobody must've heard about it - I know I didn't. +1 publicity

The golden days were golden because more people played crpg, not because the mod itself was better.

Better games are played by better quanities. To say otherwise is illogical.
Sure the game wasn't as developed, and lacked a lot of balance, and whatever, but the new system just feels grindy as all hell, to the point where it's barely fun.
If people enjoyed what they were playing, they'd have no reason to leave.
-
yea, it wasn't exactly better, just more people played it. The warband community in general is getting smaller every month because of how old the game is, with new "better" ones coming out all the time. The servers will peak again in the summer holidays though.

So wrong, i've seen many good games fail while bad games such as runescape and such go viral and maintain a good community.

Clearly not, clearly runescape survived because a majority found it fun.
What determines whether a game is "good or bad" is 100% subjective, thus, is a matter of opinion. I'm sure you can find tens of thousands to support Runescape, even though it's not my kind of game, it must be doing something right to survive.

I played the mod north invasive 3 years ago, the game initially razivalas and then less and less people playing at development like walking. and now when I go to 25 servers plays a very few people, because fashion is dying. because nordinvasion shit
-
Mod is dying just like Warband itself is dying. I don't think stripping cRPG of its identity would do any good, rather spoil the work of years.
Think of cRPG as the last bastion of Nerdland in Warband.

That is a retarded thing to say. Just try to think this through for a second.

lol, if that's true, then what a sad bunch of cunts you all are.

people play what they like and not what is popular. Stop whining and if you're a man you play in an RPG and if you're a woman then .....

So League of Legends is the best game ever made and Warband is an absolutely terrible game then? Hell, we should probably redesign cRPG to be more like League of Legends or Call of Duty.
-
Don't forget the vibrant community and thriving e-sports scene of Total Annihilation, for example.
-
Unlike Dota (a mod for Warcraft III), the base game for cRPG (Warband) isn't nearly popular enough to allow for us to reach a tipping point where we could see similar growth. Furthermore, cRPG has extremely niche gameplay. So extreme actually, that I'd wager that the vast majority of "gamers" don't know this type of gameplay even exists. Neither Warband nor cRPG are advertised or promoted well, either. There aren't many high quality YouTubers or Streamers, so reaching a tipping point in growth via word of mouth, is kind of out of the question (for now?)

Pretty sure they tried an oldschool mode a couple christmases ago and no one played it
People will only play for nostalgia, not for fun gameplay. Not that I was around during the start but I believe there were some terribly OP/easy playstyles and was pretty unbalanced
cRPG is lucky to still have an active playerbase when so many quit and don't get replaced by new players. Warband is still doing pretty well going by Steam stats but no one will stick with cRPG with the difference between high level/ full loomed/high skill players and newbies. If you don't die from a single random projectile or bumped to death you will get completely destroyed in melee. All of the high level/high loomed guys will quit eventually, should plan ahead
