I can one-up you though, when I was in 5th grade my dad found a cecropia moth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyalophora_cecropia) on a building at work. He brought it home in a cardboard box and I got to take it to school and show my class. They are THE largest north american moth.
