Hello all!
If you don't know me, I am a crossbower using builds with 12 or 15 STR, that is 4 or 5 PS, and a variety of 0 slot weapons on maps where I pack 2 bags of bolts. For all other maps, I either use the 0 slot weapons as well, or Espada Eslavona. Now I want more onehanded weapons with 1 slot, and I am not sure which ones to loom/buy.
What I tested so far:
I have experience using the Grosses Messer, the Iberian Mace, the Liuyedao and the Side Sword. The Grosse Messer is nice, since it has 4 attack directions, is fast, not too short, and due to the high damage, I rarely bounce off armor regardless of my low strength. The Iberian Mace is quite good as well, but it has a requirement of 13 STR and is not compatible with possible future builds. I also wouldn't mind sacrificing a bit of damage for additional speed. The Liuyedao is awesome in terms of speed; using this, it feels like having the same 1handed wpf as some dedicated onehander, even though I usually have around 50-100 only. However, as you probably guessed, it is totally unusuable against tincans with my builds. The Side Sword is basically ok, but it feels a bit too sluggish, probably cuz I am used to shorter weapons and I don't have that much wpf after all. There something that feels like a short delay before all the attacks actually trigger, which I observe for the Arab Cav Sword and the NCS as well, but other (mainly shorter) onehanders don't seem to have it.
So far, I am probably selling my Liuyedao and getting a Messer again.
By the way, how do you make the a description appear such as "Spoiler: What I tested so far"? Just like in http://forum.melee.org/suggestions-corner/faction-types-kingdoms-vassals-bandits/msg966435/#msg966435; see the "Spoiler: Credits"?
If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know! Please present me your favorite onehanders and what you particularly like about them; maybe I fall in love with some of these and get them  Also, if anyone of you tested the Crusader Sword on +3, please describe your impressions.
Sankyu!
Have fun and good games)
