Hello,

Why have ladders been banished from the game? It was fun when you could climb buildings and make a position there. Now it is just boring because most of the buildings aren't accesable or climbable.
You can still buy them in the shop tho?

I have an idea.

Since you love ladders that much, take your ladder and drive to the nearest cliff in your town, place the ladder near the edge, climb up, and then JUMP.

Scenario: You are in a group of infantry against a smaller number of ranged, who have made their way up to a roof (or around an invi wall or to some other normally unreachable area) with a ladder. There is no way to climb the ladder even for shielders because they get one to each side and shoot around the shield, or even worse, "someone" (we do not know who but it almost always was the same type of people) has destroyed the ladder (and if someone tells them to go down they ignore/pretend not to understand) so they are completely unreachable.

That is what EU1 (battle) became with ladders every other village round, so no thank you.
In siege it allowed for ladder bridges straight to flag which made most maps even more "camp flag to have the slightest chance to not get demolished" than they already are, and making every map the same.

There aren't ladders in Battle cause.... it simply makes the game unplayable for everyone without ranged weaponry... Also people would destroy there own ladders once they gathered 12 ranged players on a roof, an then become immune to melee/cav..

Simply put, it turned the battle server into a shitfest...

An in siege it just made the maps unbalanced..

Sorry, I treat them bitches like they deserve to be treated, I always help new players out, even if they`re 2handers.

what about the new Master of the Field mechanic? The MOF should prevent the archer nest from being effective. It's not like you have to run around the archer nest like a dog barking at a cat in a tree.

The MOF is the flag spawning within 20 seconds? Feels like Rome II, just run for the flag and win...

It does that in the 1st round of battle then after that should only spawn when there are less than 10 players left or something like that.
So if the archers camped a roof and broke the ladder to access the roof, they would lose by MoF flag capture.

Ill tell your what, if inf/cav could buy some magic thingy from the store that has the same cost as ladders, and would make us immune to range, then sure, you could have your roofcamping gayfest back..

Flags tend not to work sometimes. Even if the flag is on top it doesn't always trigger win and you'd be left with those ranged on roof and flags that do nothing. Happy waiting for the ranged to come down...

For Battle only:

just imaginary... if ladders were indistructable (so no chopping the ladder to make the roof unaccessable)... your point of immune to INF were gone, and even for cav, because they just can de-horse. Its just natural that archers try to be protected as much as possible for fast enemys and Horsemen. And for sure, there should be a limit of 1-2 ladders per Team only.

There is only one point that still might be a problem -> when the flagspawn is next to the "laddered" roof. If Flagspawn could consider to have a minimum range to this...

... just an imagination...

Even if ladders are indestructable going up a roof with 8 ranged is still suicidal. A ladder does not allow you to dodge much, which means that roof is fully immune to anyone without a shield. Even with a shield they can often shoot your from multiple angles on many roofs making you unable to get up there safely, and that is assuming 180 degree shield protection, only the widest shields with high shield skill even provide that. Even then you got up a roof as a shielder, all the archers get out their instastab 1h swords, the few crossbowmen in there start their 8 athlethic blunt weapon dance, you are still fucked.

The fear factor of a roof full of ranged will mean that it will get mostly avoided until late into the round, which means that there might not be enough shielders left to effectively counter the rangedroof, which is very problematic even with multiple shielders. Even if you jump through many hoops to make ranged on roofs less problematic, ignoring the problems that indestructable ladders could cause, the question still remains. Why should ranged be allowed complete immunity from cav and relative immunity from infantry?

Your right. If ppl would be smart, they would just avoid this "bastion" and wait for the flags. So its just a delaying for flagspawn. Never saw this point of view. U kinda enlighted me :)
