We will most likely get this baby, because the old servers are kinda laggy and with the upcoming Strategus and new gamemodes we need a powerful machine to host all those fancy thingies. Well, I'm extremely hostile towards the idea of giving any kind of advantage in exchange for money, but I guess the randomness and the overall small effect mean it's not such a horror in this case. Once a week might be too much, though; those points will stack up over time and big donors will probably end up catching most of them.
Too bad we can't do this for na server....Why not? I heard someone is buying up all the heirlooms, I can sure that guy can "donate" 1 or 2 for a similar contest ;)

Why not make it to where all donators have an equal chance? I mean.. we all contributed. Is it the amount that matters? Once a week would be fine, then.
Well, the reason why he did it this way is obvious enough, there's an incentive for people with plenty of money lying around to donate more than one euro. If it was a lottery for something irrelevant, just prestige stuff, then I wouldn't resent people who donated more having a better chance to win.

Just give donaters a shiny colour ingame or an ingame message when they join the server like the strategus messages.
Example: Sir Neresto_HRE the generous entered the server.

I would actually rather win a wierd hat or a "wave boss" name, than another hierloom.

I don't think they'll bring 150 a month.Aren't there like over 1,000 active players? Thats like minimum 10,000-15,000 views a month, with refreshes and what not, i would expect closer to 50,000ish. He would have to be getting pretty low rates to get under 150 a month, about .003 a view.

Therefore, we're asking for donations, because it will be kind of expensive: 150 for the setup, and 133 per month.
But we're no cheapskates, so we were thinking about a "Thank you" event for our donators.
So that's the deal: Lottery Lördag!
Every saturday evening (CET) we spit out one heirloom point to a random player that was active during the last 7 days. And this is the fun part: Every donated euro is one lottery ticket. It's not a lot, and it isn't really meant to buff anyone, it's just a small sign of gratitude for the people that finance all the fun around here. Make sure you have a main char selected and your donator email set. Also, don't be mad if the heirloom lottery doesn't hit you :(.
If, for any reason, we can't do this (legal stuff blahblah), then we won't base it on donations, but instead, make a totally akward algorythm that takes many, many, MANY things into account. If that totally akward algorythm selects a random donator, then we can't help it.
We will announce the text the winner has set in his donator menu - if he has chosen to be a public donator. Otherwise he will stay secret, but can, of course, reveal himself.
