Title: I want to help with the development of crpg
Post by: issler on January 07, 2014, 04:31:22 am: Hi folks, I've been playing crpg for a while now, last time I played was like a year ago.
I've recently come across Strategus and I'm wondering if there's anyway I can help with its development?
I really liked the concept and would so, if anyone knows someone I can talk to or something to get recruited and become a modder?

Not trying to be mean, but if you don't show any proof of previous experience and just say "hey i found out about strategus just now it looks cool can i help you make it" I would bet my account that the answer will be no.

1. Play nothing but 2h
2. Hate archery
3. Minor autism
4. Antisocial personality
5. Low IQ
6. Virgin

Well first, you gotta fill out a lot of paperwork. (Various applications, liability waivers, bank account number, etc.)

Then you gotta film yourself dancing wearing women's underwear and send it to the devs

Then you must build a blood altar and sacrifice your first born.

Then maybe, JUST maybe, you'll get an interview

well i'm studying to be an engineer irl, it's not like i'm a kid :lol:

How is that related to modmaking? Besides the oblivious mathskills required for it and few other things. I could be a successful real estate agent and it wouldnt mean anything when trying to develop a game. 90% of this community consists out of adults and quite a few as ive understood are studing or are in IT and they cant really help out. So you studing engineering doesnt say much....

Post by: KingBread on January 07, 2014, 08:55:48 am: As far as i know they recruit only people they know, usually you first needed to be beta tester, and since there are no beta tests anymore its highly unlikely you will get anywhere (thought dancing video mentioned above could give you some credit). I think Kafein is a guy that could help you to on your way cos he was a developer of this mod for like 2-3 days and we still pray to him as to minior god.

After 1 year, there have been alot of changes, know them, make suggestions for something what could be better.

Look at Zagibu, just very recently now item manager :) He did some 3d stuff for how to watch armors on website, and has generally been active in the item stuff, and god knows what else.

Basically all devs were once players who just decided to do something, and those that did and stayed are devs :)

Don't believe those that says you have to be friends with devs etc. Those that DO in stead of TALK gets in.

Quite frankly, working on something that other people play is, at least for me, more fun than playing itself
