Who plays with audio?.. I turned that repetative mess of years ago..

Listen to ebooks or podcasts instead...

Try it... you will not go back..

I have noticed incredibly loud rain sounds recently. Like it becomes louder and louder until it's fucking deafening and then it goes back to the normal level.

Everyone except a handful of people that keep getting backstabbed or lanced by cav? Sounds are such an enormous part of combat that playing without it would kill me. I can't even play with quiet music because it removes most of my cav awareness. Playing without sound is like playing with half a keyboard.

As long as it is the correct half, Teeth. Unless the player is me as I need to write books about my ingame rage every ten seconds.

I can't play with music (even the game's music). I never play any videogame with any music except the game's own music. But I should add that I never play shitty web flash games either.

I play with music on normal volume (often in addition to ts noice) and being aware with it is definitely not a problem. Playing without in-game sounds on the other hand, that would make lolfeints trick me more often. :P

You get used to it. I play with quiet music and game sounds are almost muted. Used to play with sounds completely off. I have decent cav awareness, thanks to look back button.

I noticed the other day that during one of the victory yells, it was so loud and distorted, it sounded like someone was screaming from the bottom of a shower drain.

Wat, so for fairness sake I should keep listening to the Warband music even after 3000 hours? I was already bored of the music in Mount & Blade before Warband even came out, and I think they reused most of it.

Well, being a piker I put the bar very high for my own cav awareness, getting killed by cav while I have the longest weapon in the game just feels like a direct insult to my abilities. Being able to anticipate cav coming in from behind while fighting an opponent from the front is an extremely valuable skill as that is the moment when most cav try to get you, the look back button is fairly hard to utilize when blocking an opponent in front of you so it comes down to your ability to react to horse sounds.

the devs knows what I talk about, I don't have to explain :)

especially but not only when free-look the audio is incredible fucked directional-wise. many sounds is all of a sudden in mono, for example the end round fanfare trumpet thingy. the cav sound is very odd, someone have tampered with it perhaps to make it more realistic? I dunno but its not working. please, the default is fine no need to fizzle with it.
