Title: Weird hit detection
Post by: Prpavi on October 24, 2013, 07:43:53 pm
Don't know if this is lag since my ping is around 40/50, but I've noticed I'm hitting through peoples blocks and the are hitting through mine, also hitting distance doesn't seem right, the whole game is acting kinda strange and really random. Been going on for about 3 days now, can't really play.

Are you experiencing something similar or is it just my connection?

Playing on EU1

Ever since wse2 has updated I've noticed something strange like that too and my ping is 10-15.

Getting the same thing on the NA servers, pinging 80 - 85.  Something must be up with the servers.

Hitboxes felt totally messed up for me last night. Several "clean hits" not registering but when i visually missed a guy by a large margin i headshoted him.

There are times when your client is showing a different block than what you are actually doing, so that would explain being hit through blocks. If you are actually lagging, players become much harder to hit, so it is likely the attack or shot you thought would miss actually would have, if it was not actually lagging.

There are some quirks that seem like lag that come down to weapon's hitbox. For example, all thrusts can be turned beyond their physical representation and hit, two handers especially have an interesting stab that is dangerous at close range, and overheads have lingering hit detection that will still hit if a player drops his or her block when the other play turns their already swung weapon into the character.

I love how you open up a thread about the problem, like any of the devs will actually give a fuck.

Stop bothering, it`s a lot easier.

Just wanted to check if this is happening to other players or my connection is to blame.

I tried it a bit but had to go back to wse2. Not really sure if it was better

Also hiltslashes feel a lot different lately, often hit registers right when you release the mouse - nothing even touched the enemy. Same goes with people hitting me or when I see them hitting others while spectating.

I almost always have a free hit after I've hit someone with my Long Axe.

Everything is so laggy and buggy recently :(

The NA server is really due for a reboot or something. It's acting really weird lately.

I know this was going on for EU a while now, but the last couple days I've had the same issue on NA. My ping stayed at the regular 30 but the combat feels like you are lagging hardcore.

When my wifi cuts out my ping rockets up to 1000+ before disconnecting me completely. That's what this feels like. No hits connect when they should.

There was a player who swung an axe through my torso on NA1 and the hit didn't register. I have also found that rubberbanding is happening more frequently too.

edit: went double down syndrome in that first sentence

Been having weird stuff like this happen with my thrower.

Constantly seeing my weapons go THROUGH people or horses, and yet miss them, or somehow hit a teammate on the other side.

Also, I keep seeing misses stagger people even though the weapon keeps on flying off into the distance. It's really freaking weird.

Not to mention all the times I've had swings or arrows go right through me and do nothing, only to be killed by someone who completely misses....  My ping's only around 45, I don't think it should be doing this nonstop :/

Lately I've noticed a lot of people just firing their crossbows from the hip rapidly. It looks like they just press a button and bam, no delay whatsoever.  :o

Anyone else?

Just got my first crash in a while, with a Database server error on the site afterwards. Have crash log if dev wants it

Yes and it also applies to other classes. Basically it doesn't show attack animation sometimes. It happens when you hit that person and the hit guy wants to attack instantly after being hit. So many times I've hit the enemy and see that he isn't doing anything after being hit. 'He must be waiting to chamber...' were my thoughts, as I was just getting hit... I saw just the end of the animation as his weapon was already going back.

Annoying...

I think "someone" is fiddling with the code or settings.

Weird delays in hitdetection, very noticable when on horse at full speed.  choppy riding.
Someone slashing at air gets a connecting hit. Projectiles register hits with a delay

And upkeep seems to have increased! :D

It must be a conspiracy!

They're trying to get everyone to get fed up with cRPG before their new game comes out, so everyone hops over.-
