Wat?
I realize you would stick out among your inbred redneck brethren in the trailerpark you live in but you should consider reading a newspaper once in a while.
Maybe you could disguise the newspaper as your NRA member newsletter?

The most heavily affected structure is the NASA with 97% employees out of work. Seriously ?

Not sure how a disagreement between Republicans and Democrats means USA is broke. They're actually losing money by doing this.

Well, if you don't like being called an idiot maybe you should actually learn to comprehend what you're reading before posting threads about them. Y'know, like realizing that the current events aren't because America is "broke."

Maybe the US government should look at this :D It's just ridiculous that so many people are whining about healthcare.

What's there to look at? They could definitely make their military leaner while still maintaining current efficiency, but I'm pretty sure most U.S citizens are glad that their military is so much better than any other military in the world.

As am I. I certainly wouldn't want to live in a world where Russia's and U.S's expenditures swapped places.

edit: engrish

There's a diffence between BROKE and Not wanting to pay it's government salaries. It's still paying loans and other suchs things, just not paying it's citizens.

Funny how a EU person thinks that they are SO funny with this post. Supposed to cost us 10Billion a week, lets see how true that is. Not paying 800,000 employees...how does that cost you 10 Billion?

And who cares anyway...my state is better than all these shit tons of government states. DC is probably a ghost town, right now though....
Also, the military wasn't shut down. So while everything was, the Military wasn't. America has it's priorities straight. Cause when broke, just attack someone for more oil money!

It's 1 billion a week, and obviously you don't lose money by not paying salaries, you lose the money because those 800,000 employees are no longer working in things that make more money as a whole than their salaries are worth.

The White House estimates that a one-week shutdown could cost the US economy $10 billion
That's where I got that. I'm not like an expert, but sure they say 10 bil, then ok, w/e.

800k people out of work sucks, so go get another job! Which is sad. Most of these people will just wait, cause they KNOW they'll get their jobs back at some point. In fact, it's a joke, really. If you get a government job, you're set and don't need to look for another one(that's a common joke amongst most people in the US). And you get benefits that are amazing...
Sometimes, I wonder who's winning, the Bureaucracy or the Overpaid Bankers....

Where do you get that from? I got 1 billion from here: http://edition.cnn.com/2013/10/01/politics/government-shutdown/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

From the whitehouse site itself: http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2013/09/30/heres-how-government-shutdown-hurts-american-people

I loled at this response
The Centers For Disease Control will not be able to conduct "in-depth investigations to identify and link outbreaks that may be occurring simultaneously in multiple states" or provide flu surveillance due to the furloughing of 68% of its employees

Well, that's interesting. White house is supa mad at Republicans, though, so they'd want to talk about as big figures as possible. On the other hand, CNN gives no sources for the "1 billion" either.

That's why I said it's actual bullshit. Politicans like to toss out numbers, but usually NOTHING they say is right. Even the ACA is already overbudget compared to what they said when it was first passed.

If anything, I'd rather the country be run the 3 types of councils(1 elected, 1 not, and 1 by inheritance or some such). Would be interesting to see that kind of country would run.
Or some other crazy Idea's I got. Most won't work, IRL doesn't work that easy
