Title: How did you find out about crpg?

We were discussing this in IRC and my guess (besides some of the people who have played since the early days) were referred to this game by a friend.  I don't think the taleworlds website is getting a lot of people to actually play the game (it says 165,000+ people have been redirected to the crpg main website, but I don't know if that's enough to get people interested in downloading and playing....maybe it is).

I remember looking for multiplayer mods with a functional map that acted like singleplayer. This was the only option and I've been hooked since. Showed the game to all my friends and even bought it for 4$ for a couple of them lol. I want the community to keep growing so bad! I think we may need to organize the whole of CRPG to go post on the native taleworlds forums so we can save some of those poor bastards from playing a second more of native

After I bought Warband, I was browsing mods on taleworlds forum where I found the cRPG subforum.
This was baaaack in the good old days, more than 3 years ago now.

Decided to check out mods for warband, downloaded every single mod on the TW forums, most of the MP mods were dead or only did clan events. Crpg seemed fun and was still alive, so I stuck with it

I think that's how it happened

A sizable group of us were looking around at different warband mods and decided to check this one out, at one point that first week I ended up spectating a really interesting EU strat battle and decided to dedicate some time to playing and not rage quit because it's terrible at first. Sadly, Sparvico and I are the only ones who have stuck around from our group. Because of that in my opinion it's not obscurity that's the biggest problem, it's actually trying to retain the people who do give the mod a shot

Played warband (not licence one), someone mentioned that best players play c-RPG. Googled it, watched this video and bought the game on steam:
Then wanted to join Merc clan for few months, then this intention withered somehow.
Now after 1 year of playing I'm bored, tired, and raging a lot.  :(

I got bored of the Native multiplayer quite fast (nothing to work for) so I had a look around on the Taleworld's forums and low and behold, a mod that allowed me to save a character!

As everything started, I got my arse kicked over and over but that just made me angry, and when I'm angry I continue until I start doing well. I'm still angry.

One of my best friends and I saw it on the server list when we bought Warband two years ago. We joined in January of 2012, but he had lost interest by the time I joined AoW.

Maybe a year or two ago I decided to try out all the warband MP mods, because I only played competitive native at the time. I downloaded each one and tried them all out. I got really into MM and PW alpha, but C-rpg wasn't fun to me, so I passed. It's only in recent months that I decided to try it out again, and this time it was a lot more fun to me. I brought I few friends of mine and made the BAMF clan, but I decided that it would be cool to learn strat and stuff and be with an experienced clan , so I found a random clan and joined with most of my guys. (At the time I did not know RoR/GoW was a new clan, but it has worked out for me so far.)

My brother and a family friend (Apsalar and Serruntis, to those of you old time NA players) introduced me to Mount & Blade.

Randomly stumbled on the first Ripper cRPG video, I think.

I saw Fallen_Everkistus playing this mod irl bit over 3 years ago and he kept telling me to try it and here we are now. 3 years and over 3k hours ingame and still noob. ;__;

Friend of mine told me about the Steam sale and this kickass mod he discovered. I bought Warband for 5$ on 29.11.2010. and started playing cRPG.  :mrgreen:

I bought warband when it's released but i played native occasionally. Later at the university, in the Logical Design lesson my professor was giving examples inside of the game. It was like "When you aim at the M&B as an archer, ..." After the lesson i asked him that which server does he play because i thought he was playing in one of native servers. He told me that there is a mod and thats how it's all started.

An IRL friend convinced me after a long time to get the game. I tried it (about a year ago) and played c-rpg with him for a few days, but it was the hardest game that i have ever played as a beginner (especially considering I never played native first and c-rpg seems much harder to me), so I quit by the time I was like level 21. I had been playing as a shielder/1h because i couldn't block AT ALL. I started again in July, so about a few months ago, and I had nothing else to do at that time really so I just stuck with it (I respecced to 2h right when I started again so i'd be forced to learn blocking) and then once I improved a little it started to get a lot more fun so I kept playing. I have only really played with the guy who got me into it like once since coming back to try it again though, because he doesnt play anymore =P

Not a clue how or why i started playing it but i've never looked back, gotta of had some of the best moments of warband within cRPG, played it the most as well.

Also it's the only game that makes me rage and pisses me off.

I used to play the pirated Warband at the first stages it came out. I really only played the PW mod and the cracked servers where very much alive amazingly. Like multible servers occasionally went over 100 players at the same time.

Some wierdo ruskiesclan there had somehow managed to make a cracked Warbands Crpg server that acctually gave out gold and xp. I dunno how they managed that tbh. So I tried it. My first char was a kuyak wearing nikolskoe helmet having and longsword using mofo(because I didnt really know any better :lol:). Ofcourse the rusikeserv ended rather fast so I decided to go legit eventually.

I saw Frumpty_Dumpty playing it when we were hanging out once at a LAN party. I was amazed until I actually got in the game and played it... Took a long time to get past the noobie stages.

Been playing WB since beta, saw the mod on the warband server list, went to look it up and started playing way back in the oldskool days (no retirement, no gens, no looms, no clans, only 1 EU server that reset every 30 mins to save progress, character wipes etc). Then quit for a bit and came back on January 2011 I think.

After our clan got tired of Battlefield 2142 we moved on to play Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (some of us had played the old Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory). We had quite a large clan by then and QW completely drowned in tears over our clan stacking.

This clan buddy of mine played M&B:W single player, so he suggested we tried native. Then, in July 2010 we noticed that c-rpg existed. My buddy sent out the following rather insightful mail:

1. You start out as a peasant. Literally.
2. You die a lot. (It's Battle mode, so only one life)
3. Everyone else has superb armour and skills because they spent more time on the game.
4. You die.
5. You buy your new equipment through a website.

8. You die.
9. New round; new life..
10. You die by archer fire. (One shot kill, too little health.)
11. You get run over by a horse and die because you lost half your health somewhere else.
12. You go back to that website and tweak your stats because by now you'll have levelled up
13. Rinse and repeat.

One guy told me he had died 70 times and made zero kills.
Which is pretty much what you'll be doing as well when you play this mod.
It's pretty pathetic. Out equal chances, hello grinding.

Got Warband at launch, played native for maybe 150 hrs, MP and SP. And I kept seeing the cRPG mod on top of the player list, decided to try it out and got "hooked" on it. Had lots of fun on it, until the repair came and took my plate away :(

Elindor showed me Warband all together so I've never play native just Crpg and a few other mods. I did play singleplayer for a bit but I didn't have internet.

I bought Warband because of Crpg in all honesty.

I remember playing the demo for the original Mount and Blade and ended up loving it.  I then came across the Crpg mod through some random Youtube browsing.  Bought Warband and downloaded Crpg before I even played Native.

Back in the old days of pocket pikes and Side Sword spam.  Back before repairs when everyone wore black armor.  Back when Crpg was fun because everyone was bad.

Played the single player + mods on and off for a good 3/4 year. When I was finally going to drop the game, wanted to check out multiplayer a little bit. Checked to see if there were any mods for multiplayer and cRPG came up (saw it but always ignored it until then).

I was referred by a friend a few years ago when I asked about the modding community.
He mentioned there was a somewhat popular multiplayer mod with leveling and a bunch of elitist players.
Figured I'd give it a go.

This mod alone broke my addiction to WoW, and that's saying something.

I was going to say 4chan, but I think that's only where I found out about Warband.  I'm fairly certain I found out about cRPG from the talesworld website, browsing multiplayer mods.  The description told me it's like singleplayer but multiplayer, so I was sold right there.

Only wished I could have experienced old cRPG for more than 2 days.  I'd just saved enough money to buy my first bow back then too, and randomly killed some full plate guy accidentally because I was trying to shoot the peasant teammate next to him and hit his head instead.  Peasants have it way too easy these days.

Always lurked taleworlds for new mods saw cRPG popped up in super early stages where there was only an eu server with like 50 slots and would restart every 30 minutes to update the server characters. Was like the only NA person who played at the time on the EU server besides a few others like Shik/Karazo/Onimaho. In the very early version I was named Hoplite but was adorned in samurai armor just a fun fact.

Actually all of the things in the poll kinda happened to me, I always saw those servers with cRPG on them and thought I could try it since people played there , my friends played it and told me about it, I also read about it on a page about Warband, and then finally I was searching for some Warband mods and cRPG was there so I downloaded.

Native servers became empty at about 11 o'clock UK time, always seemed some people on crpg.

Started playing more to learn to manual block, in native miss once and dead crpg far more forgiving and hence easier to learn in.

I was watching an exposé on the news about a video game that was shitty and glitchy that it was turning kids into cuntlords. So naturally, I had to give a shot because I love kids and cuntlords.

On a aide note I love this game and think its one ofthee funniest games I have ever played. Thank you developers

played singleplayer, got bored of it. found crpg, it looked well done with shiny stuff, and alive. I tried it, failed at having fun. joined a clan. had some fun. pulled in some other poor soul. he love-hated it too. got stuck myself in a mess of stupid discussions and ridiculously unrealistic balancing. called for help, no one listened. pulled myself out by rationalizing how bad it actually is. now I think it's one of the better games/mods after all, that fucks with our brains in a bad way. still playing it :/
