Title: Adjust Day & Night time
Post by: Grumpy_Nic on September 21, 2013, 10:42:02 am
For the love of god, please reduce night time maps, this darkness is so annoying. I dont care about rain, not much about fog but night time is simply terrible.

Tbh, I hate fog way more than night-time but both are annoying...

Night time and rain don't have any purpose. Night time makes it just harder and more exhausting to see anything and rain punishes everyone who is not going on the strength side of character building. Both are idiotic features! Remove them.

I assume you know about turning on HDR at least to Low, then tick Auto Exposure. Makes it a bit brighter. Still a pain to play like that, especially when some people see much better than others depending on their monitor

It just doesn't make sense that I need to change my settings in such a drastic way to just see properly.

I know about it. I use it but it's still annoying.

Rain lowers projectile damage which is a cool thing.

We need this in game. No rain-caused movement penalty.

I have never had a problem with darkness ever, guess everything depends on your monitor. It's basically almost as light as day for me. That said, I don't see the point in any weather effects. Clear sky and sun is the only circumstances where the game can actually look nice and nobody hates sunny weather so why not 24/7 sun?

Night is the worst part of cRPG

My POV:

I love fog
I don't care about rain
Night annoys when you can't see anything

Maybe you just play in wrong hours? Because it's more day than night for me when I play.

Fog is nice from time to time
Night is useless
I would love my games to be rainless

I find it varies from map to map. Some have better 'night lighting' than others.

Fog is just shit, pointless and annoying especially the red sand storm things you get far too often in the desert strat battles.

Rain is a interesting feature because of it's effect on missile speed.. but I would have no issue seeing it gone.

I've never understood 'realistic weather' in games, unless it's part of the story mode or built into the maps design. Other than that it should just be 24/7 sun/clear sI love you. Game play > realism

I made a poll about this a while ago, quite a few people voted and it turned out people actually enjoy night time for what ever reason, the poll was almost 50/50, I'll try to find the topic.

They enjoy nighttime because they can finally get a kill on those people who have a totally black monitor. I don't have that problem, but I've seen those who do, and it is pretty shitty.

As an archer i can say that nighttime is really good for making ninja attacks. It's a bit harder to notice ranged (x-bows especially) and sometime my eyes are almost bleeding trying to notice something in bigger distance

I like night time simply because it adds more different circumstances to fight under. 3 types of weather * 2 types of lighting = 6 different circumstances.

But yeah, gotta admit it's the least interesting of them. And a strain on the eyes, trying to find out who's friendly and who's not.

Echoing sentiments here.  Fog is a nice change, rain doesn't affect me too much (slows me down on foot and slows my horse down, but also makes projectiles suck more than they already do) so I'd like rain to be gone.  Night time doesn't do anything useful, for the vast majority of people it makes it much harder to see certain weapons (and certain animations with those weapons are harder to see than others, like some 1h swords' over heads).  It certainly strains my eyes much more playing at night.

I just don't see the point of night time, just makes it harder to see certain weapons, people aren't any harder to see, so I don't see the point.

Please do. Tired of feeling like playing cRPG, booting it up only to find all servers with night, for then to quit before even playing. Only thing it does is make your eyes bleed.
