Might as well make this the thread for discussing the latest episodes since we don't have one yet. Just change the topic and put a spoiler warning in the title and first post and we're good to go.

Ya! but the whole reason he started doing what he was doing, was to help out his family, hes a smart guy, he knew they would be left with debt, no college for his kid, he was working 2 jobs... as a teacher and at a car wash! the average family not rich loosing theere main source of income there dad.... does something wrong but for his family!!!!!!!! something i thought we could relate too, breaking bad, for a good reason..... but with these new episodes .... it just seems to me, like they tried to make him out to be a real POS... that even convicts and criminals would find distasteful... i mean.... even convcits have some sense of morality... and killing kids... will get you fucked up, you know what i mean!!

I mean just take the runescape kid who went to jail for 5 months over the comment about hurting a bunch of kids at a school..... noone finds it funny that this kid got his shit taken and beat up and thrown in PC ( protective custody ) ... this is how that scenario went..... kid walks into cell.... cellmate asks for his papers... cellmate reads what he is in for... then asks him a simple question .... do you think this is funny.. kid responds ... no i was just joking... i didnt mean it.. ... ***bam*** PC up

I think one of the main points of the show is that while Walter convinced himself to get into the meth business for those sort-of noble reasons, he starts on a journey of discovery where he's basically finding himself, finding out that behind this persona he's constructed for himself he's essentially a monster, and he totally embraces that.

Walter always had noble intentions, but with that much money and power even the most noble can be blinded  8-)

I have to say, I really like his character, and how it has evolved for this show. "SAY MY NAME", "I am the danger", etc, so cheesy quotes but yet so fitting for his character  :P

Saving this until I have at least two episodes to watch in a row, but great series, one of the best imo (up there with The Wire), in regards to acting, characters, dialogue and story arc. Watch it if you haven't.

My guess is that the cartel or someone else found out who is "Heisenberg" and where he lives,   and they want to kill him, but somehow Walt manages to escape .   That may explain why there 's the writing "Heisenberg" inside Walt's abandoned house.

This series is just dreadfully addictive like meth itself. What really bothers me is the fact how I keep watching the long scenes where technically nothing happens. Just like a lot of walking, getting dressed etc and im not fast forwarding. Like what the hell? Did I suddenly became a boring person or did I just get seriuslly hooked. I litterally watch scenes where nothing goes on for a long period of time.

Probably due to the fact that though some scenes may appear to not have much going on they are saturated with things appearing between the lines.

Fly episode was the best in the whole series. The whole part where he was catching the fly alone was the best part in television history. Period.

No, it was stupid. Period. As stupid as Walt suddenly turned to be when falling for the trap. As stupid as Hank going out there in the desert without any backup but Gomez where he could be easily ambushed himself. Also as stupid as the chocolate chip cookies suddenly are with guns. I mean they won a previous shotout against the other meth makers within seconds. And now they are as precise as stromtroopers. Also Todd. Shot the kid like a pro before and now he forgot how to aim with a handgun. I don't get it.

It's because stuff is happening. There's character development, revelation, and most of all, tension in those scenes. Like a Nicholas Winding-Refn film. Hell, there's an entire series (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2183404/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) that seems to be made from nothing but those scenes, and yet, it's got a powerful draw.

No, it was stupid. Period. As stupid as Walt suddenly turned to be when falling for the trap. The only thing the makers seem to care about is character development. How they get there doesn't look like a priority, I guess.

It seems a little odd that Walt would have fallen for that trick, given that he went out of his way to make sure he was the only one who knew the location of the cash.

e:
The justification was that he may have thought Hank put a GPS tracker on his truck. However, given that Walt knows that Hank has done that in the past, he almost certainly would have checked the truck over.

You are right, the shootout is silly. Hank and Gomez would have died longtime untill they finally reached cover.
But I think this is just to contribute to hollywoodstile dramaturgie. Everything needs more bullets and extended luck to reach the standard most movieconsumers got used to during the last 10-20 years.
For me the cliffhanger would have been better if they blacked out after the first shot.

BB was never about realism. I mean have a look at the season with the airplane crash. It looks like the BB universe is driven by some kind of fate. Plausibility is not really needed for the series to work.

The more I watch, the more disappointing it gets... All hope of this series finishing strong has burned out... At least for me.
Entire episodes can be summed up completely in a couple short sentences. Because there is only one or two plot twists per episode, followed by low budget, uninteresting filler. Usually in the form of dialogue scenes with the secondary characters/actors.

Great finale for the second best series ever. (I still think The Wire is better as a whole, sorry =P)

It was just perfect, can't really add anything else =D

The Wire, The Sopranos if you haven't seen them yet. Equally as awesome and to be honest, The Wire is still my favourite of all time.

I am very happy that it acctually ended. A lot of successful shows go to shit simply because they dont want to finish and just keep beating a dead horse by the end.

Im watching Supernatural again. Im in season 3 atm.

Good ending.

So, other than it being an anagram of finale, why was it called "Felina" anyway?

"The title "Felina" is a reference to the 1959 song "El Paso" by Western music artist Marty Robbins. The song concerns an unnamed cowboy who falls in love with a woman named Felina, gets shot by his enemies, and dies in her arms. The song plays in Walt's stolen car in New Hampshire, and is later hummed by Walt as he assembles the M60.

"Felina" is an anagram for "finale", and is also the feminine version of the word "feline" in Italian and Spanish.
That "Felina" is a portmanteau of "Fe", "Li" and "Na", the symbols for iron, lithium and sodium, or shorthand for "blood, meth and tears" is a common fallacy. Lithium is not used in any of the cooking processes shown and these elements are common components of many things, one being rechargable  Lithium Ion batteries.

So having seen almost three seasons of this, does it get better? I don't really get the hype. It's "alright", a 7 out of 10, but it's like watching two 12 year old kids with Down's syndrome trying to sell meth. Seriously, a dragon flying in the sky would be less immersion breaking than Walt, a supposed genius, being such a fucking retard over and over and over.

Struggling to get through Breaking Bad, already quit for like a year at the start of season 3. Now I picked it up again and god a lot of episodes are completely dead. Struggling again just a bit into season 4. Does it pick up at some point, because it is really slow. Writing seems rather crappy now honestly.

It's really slow and whenever something progresses, it's artificially thrown out the window by Walt being a retard (again) so they can keep making new seasons.
