Title: Heirloom Overview
Post by: Banok on January 07, 2011, 03:31:26 am
Guide to hierlooming
Once your character reaches level 31 you are given the option to retire. Retiring resets your exp but lets you keep your items and gold. It also gives you +1 generation which increase exp gained by 10% and you also can choose one item in your inventory to heirloom. Heirlooms have modifiers making them different to normal versions of the weapon, you can hierloom an item up to 3 times for different modifiers. Below is a list of each modifier for each time hierloomed. You are not able to hierloom an item unless your character retiring can wield it (unconfirmed post patch). Although heirlooms may have a higher or lower base price than normal, heirlooming does NOT effect upkeep cost of the item.

Damage bonuses seem to be depend on base damage, higher base damager = higher modifer. Check exact damage increase for specific weapons in lamix's thread (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,965.0.html).

Masterwork Long Espada Eslavona
requirement 10
spd rtng 100
weapon length 103
swing damage 33, cut
thrust damage 32 pierce

Makes 1h sword gen 3 modifier: +4 cut +4 pierce +1 speed +0 req

Powerful Broad One Handed Battle Axe
requirement 9
spd rtng 97
weapon length 73
swing damage 39, cut
thrust damage 0 pierce

Makes the 1h axe gen 2 modifier: +4 cut +0 pierce -1 speed +0 req

Personally, I'm hoping the gen 3 modifier for axes will be +5 cut +0 pierce +1 speed, but I'll have to wait and see.

Gen 2 Heavy Crossbow

Exceptional Heavy Crossbow
weight 3.5
requirement 12
spd rtng 25
shoot speed 59
thrust damage 70 pierce
max ammo 1
accuracy 94

Normal version

Heavy Crossbow
weight 3.5
requirement 12
spd rtng 23
shoot speed 56
thrust damage 63 pierce
max ammo 1
accuracy 92

Not much improved would liked if heirloom upped a bit more speed.

+7 pierce, +2 speed rating, +3 shoot speed & +2 accuracy.

thanks for posting guys will update it soon. spawny did you check the weight change?

that xbow looks sweet imo

I guess the extra accuracy is reduced by the extra power so its probably not more accurate afterall.

Personally, I'm hoping the gen 3 modifier for axes will be +5 cut +0 pierce +1 speed, but I'll have to wait and see.

Incorrect. Masterwork is +4 cut +4 pierce +2 speed. Long Espada Eslavona went down to 98 base speed in the patch.

Deadly German Poleaxe
weight 3
requirement 16
spd rtng 93
weapon length 131
swing damage 51, cut
thrust damage 34 pierce

+7 swing, +5 Pierce, +1 speed.

Keep in mind that even if a weapon in the same category has the same modifier, the stat change might still be different.

Do we know any more about the nature of retirement and any loomed item repair costs yet?

masterwork Großes Messer

masterwork broad short sword (aka sword of whine)
+3 cut
+3 pierce
+2 speed

tempered Langes Messer

+2 cut
+2 pierce

reinforced steel buckler
+63 HP
+4 resistance

So, in comparison to some other weapons and their modifiers i feel a bit pranked.

Repair costs for heirloomed items of any tier are the same as the repair costs for the normal version of the item.

not sure how useful this thread can be if damage modifers are weapon specific.

Tempered Katana:
+2 cut
+1 pierce

Tempered Two Handed Sword:
+2cut
+2 pierce

Balanced Heavy Lance:
+2 blunt
+2 pierce

Thick Brigandine:
+2 body armor
+2 leg armor

In looking at each weapon getting different stats... the katana only got a +1 to it's thrust damage but the other 2 weapons got +2.

But people can have an idea on what will increase just put a red line saying bonuses are different depending on damage of weapon or something like that.

I think that it is based on the base damage. A lower value gets a lower modifier.

yeah I just realised it might be a % increase, which I had previously thought of suggesting ;)

I'll fiddle around with numbers later when I have time but it will probably hard to find a conclusive value, might just have to nicely ask paul/urist

Why is my Masterwork Long Espada only 32 cut and 32 pierce and this guy gets 33 cut?  Is there a random integer in the heirloom bonus?

Yep, i do not understand why one handed hammers get slower and slower

There is simply no reason to heirloom it, as long as they get slower. At least let them stay at original speed..

So if I loom my 1h warhammer (I have only 1 heirloom point) it will become slower but more powerful and heavy?  Does heaviness increase the chance of knockdown?  If it does become heavier and slower I don't think I'll have any chance against scimitars anymore.

This optional hierloom seems like a great opportunity that I don't want to squander  :D

Well afaik, upkeep is 5% of the base price. If the base price is up, upkeep is up as well. I assumed this is the case, is it not?

Fuck.

Just used my two heirloom refunds on my Poleax and this is what I got.

Powerful Poleaxe
Cost 6027
weight 4
requirement 17
spd rtng 88
weapon length 141
swing damage 44, cut
thrust damage 35 pierce
Can't use on horseback
Bonus against Shield

The information on the first page is incorrect. I don't know about all polearms but this one went to Heavy -> Powerful. It lost speed in the first heirloom, and remained the same for the second. The cost also went down for some reason. The weight also increased by the same amount if it was a 2h blunt.

I think the stats on hierloom upgrades are fucked up because I don't think anyone would ever do this on purpose.

I would not recommend anyone heirloom the Poleax at the moment. Hopefully they can fix it :( I might have well bought a german poleax instead of blowing my heirlooms on this garbage.

edit: looks like it is bugged, I can't even use it in a battle. I can't select it from the item list in game, and if I set it as part of my default on the website it just doesn't show up.

If you think its useful I can write up more thats just example, thats if theres no simpler way of doing it and all items are different.

I'm absolutely terrified of heirlooming anything until all this 'balancing' settles down.

Plus, without knowing what the 2nd gen of picks is, there's no way I'm taking a chance.

definitely dont have time to do all that typing atm, got exams. but if someone else wants to make a better thread then we can just get my one locked.

imo its still useful to know roughly what the modifer does ie +/- speed/requirement/wieght, even if the exact amount of +damage is vague or unknown.

Well i can write them all up for you and stick it in a code tag and you can just post from there, i don't have a lot of time all the time to keep on top of it, i can however make it for all weps and then you just need to update it when new info comes in and can have another part with rough guide, better then having no idea at all.

Can't you just open some txt file in the module and find it there for every single item?

If you're going to make a collection of all heirlooms you might as well use something like open office and make it a spreadsheet; much easier to keep track of and check.

I looked in this file before thought I'd have to translate all these number but actually seems like you can just compare them just dont get somethings like I can see damage for below xbow. plus how did u get stab from that flamberge?

Anyone know what balanced does for throwing weapons? I'd like to heirloom my snowflakes but im not sure what they do. I "think" they increase the projectile speed which is what im wanting.

Also, do you get to pick the modifier of the heirloom weapon or is it random.

Random.

Balanced increases damage a bit for sure. I'd have to check for projectile speed though.

Spirited Steppe Horse   11065 (-1580 )
hit points 90  (+5)
body armor 14
requirement 3
horse speed 40 (+2)
horse maneuver 51 (+2)
horse charge 16 (+2)

Can't wait to see if the Champion Steppe Horsey is worthwhile.

2. Heirlooming does NOT effect upkeep cost

edited OP to make this clearer, you guys seemed to not understand. if the hierloom is more or less base price, who cares?

anyway I asked paul/urist for heirloom info and he said: "Heirloom modifiers will probably change."

but after looking at game files I think what damage it says an item is ingame or onsite might be fairly innaccurate anyway.  :?

Maul -> Heavy Maul

Speed +-0
Damage +3 Blunt
Weight + 0.5

=> It seems Speed-Penalty has gone with actual patch.

Removing the speed penalty for "Heavy" was one of the best things to happen to heirlooms!

I'm enjoying my Heavy Steel Pick very much. 36 pierce, baby!

EDIT: Banok, you might want to update the 1st page, as Heavy no longer carries the speed penalty. Also, I can confirm that a Heavy Steel Pick does +3 more damage.

The website is still not completely updated so it shows wrong modifiers for a lot of weapons.
