Hey hello there,
here is Michael the Mastermind with another brilliant suggestion:
My guess, the developers of the original game could not have seen that one day people would be that good in their game, or have access to superfast internet or own expensive computers and high tech gamer mouses.
Some years ago, the average player could barely parry a normal swing.
People died like flies, falling for a delayed attack or even a simple feint.
But things have changed, and therefore in my most humble opinion its also time to change this relict 'kick casts paralysis effect on foe'.
How works kick?
Step 1: Attack your opponent by slashing in his direction
Step 2: then immediately fall back and lure him into your trap
Step 3: kick him
Step 4: enjoy how your enchanted foot could leave your paralyzid victim helpless to your mercy
Step 5: have a look outside your window. Its getting summer. Maybe some hot chicks around.
Step 6: Look at your screen. Ah, your victim is still paralyzid. Cool.
Step 7: Well, he wont be paralyzid till the end of time so maybe its time to kill him.
Step 8: Okay, lets wait one more second.
Step 9: Kill him.
Now I am aware people that dont understand the way of the shield (or simply dont want to play with shield) will say without kick, shield warriors would be too powerful.
I dont think so, but maybe its true.
My suggestion for a still very unrealistic, but not so overpowered kick is this:
Kick should give a slight push, so that the kicker can get some distance between him and the kicked person to use the longer reach of his weapon to his advantage.
But the kicked person should (at least) have the chance to block at any time.

dunno if its only with wse2 but currently kicking is very risky imo. I rage like a baby if I get kicked with my shielder but when I'm careful and don't facehug the kicker is 80% dead.

Remove the turn and the tweak the length back to normal. Basically make it like the native kick without blocking. I'd still use it, but it wouldn't be abused. :D

What I would also like to see is a different animation. For example hitting your opponent with the handle of the sword, shield bash or... headbutt! (only joking :P). The kick looks just silly.

Well that general reflexion makes sense. Feints and holds used to be much, much more effective than now. People learned how to defend against those but not so much against kicks (supposing there is an effective and unrestricting way to deal with kicks like we got now in the first place, which is not true). Nerfing kicks would balance between playstyles (and classes too, as a majority of kick victims are 1h).
Kicks could use a change, but not what OP said. That you can't block while you kick is a good thing, but the buff that came with it was a bad idea.

problem with kicking is that it has better range than most 1handers and has area of effect. Try kicking when you spawn on a map that spawns your whole team in a tiny area.. you can easily kick 10+ people. SEEMS LEGIT.

Well when I try to play with wse2 activated it says something like my computer doesnt have some data so I cant test it how its like with wse2.
Without it, kick has some area stagger effect.
Although the victim cleary is not hit, it is paralyzed.

Thats exactly it.
In native, noone is a good kicker.
But people attack too careless and run into a kick and get killed.
In crpg, it seems to be almost impossible to dodge a kick.
I am new to crpg so I would appreciate some advice.

Yes. I would appreciate a game which doesnt provide exploits and free kills like kick-slash.

Nerf kick (or remove it, would be even better) because its unrealistic horse shit and on top of that a game-breaking exploit. At least in my opinion. I dont even have to hit the target, I simple push e and the other guy is almost certain paralyzed.
And even if he is not, I still can block his strike.
And thats what pisses me off.
Kick connects -> free kill
Kick fails -> I block, backpedal and try again.
Too easy to compensate lack of skill with this exploit.
At least thats the case if the kicker has a minimum of experience. If people try to kick when the other guy is already behind them, its a different story.

That is my main issue with the current kick.
I try to dodge, i see the foot is missing me, then i get stunned and a second later i bite the dust.

Make the kick hitbox look realistic. I agree with Mala, it is annoying to get kicked when the leg is moving back. The animation is awkard, and you can get punished for what appeared to be a kick you clearly dodged. It's a problem for 1hs who need to dodge and approach after the kick supposedly misses.

fix 2h stab and overhead animations persisting forever and hitting after blatantly missing while you are at it too.

Kicking is prohibitively dangerous to pull off as it is. Doesn't need to get nerfed anymore. It'd look better if it was a shieldbash/handle hit or something though, I agree with that.

So you don't think it's an issue that you can kick 10 people if they're standing close enough together? Or that it out ranges a lot of 1h weapons?

From the top of your horses you must have a very good view on things that are going on.
