Not to mention the fact that you can be penalized even if someone is actually leeching. For example:
The other day when my team was winning a round I came to the enemy's spawn. There was a naked guy there with no weapon. I walked up to him and he didn't do anything. So, I reported him as a leecher. Apparently, he was still at his computer even though he was leeching. He proceeded to hit "M" and I lost my multiplier for reporting someone who wasn't actually leeching.
The system is broken.

I played maybe 10 hours since the patch with that report crap,
and I won't play CRPG any more till it is fixed or removed.

remove the report feature, or completely rework it so it doesn't encourage trolling/griefing.
At the least make a way for admins to enable/disable the feature.
Suggestions to keep the feature
- make the person who is "successfully reported" lose one multiplier (not be kicked and lose them all),
while the person doing the reporting gains no multiplier, but LOSES ALL of theirs if they falsely accuse (reporting should be a last resort, not a game).
- make the timer at least 2 minutes, and make it very obvious on the screen constantly.
Yes I realize that's a long time when one man could be making a difference in the team win/loss,
but if wishes were wings then donkeys would fly,
and not noticing you've been reported for 11 seconds (tasking out to buy gear, or going to the bathroom/kitchen (which probably takes under 2 minutes)
getting kicked, and losing your multiplier is just extra negativity this game does NOT need.
The reporter receiving a multiplier as a REWARD for reporting just encourages MORE trollololol reporting, as well as other bad behavior.

-Siege towers that take minutes to break go up in 10 seconds and are easy to glitch with in totally unrealistic ways.
-Healing tents heal you back to full in 5 seconds or so;
you shouldn't be able to get back to max health again; each time you heal it should be for less of your max health.

I say the timer should be longer, I was in the middle of combat when I saw red text. I read it too late and BAM! Removed from game and a 5x gone. On top of the longer timer, remove reward/penalty for the damn thing.
That way if someone is AFK leeching, they get kicked and if they're just mashing M. Go get an admin.

i think servers should have alot more leeway over their domains and could choose to enable or disable features like this.

Well tbh im all for removing the bonus multiplier on a successful report and keeping the negative on a non-successful one. That way you're not giving added incentive to abuse it, but you will still open up for removing people who feel like everyone else should be penalized because they cant just wait till after they are dead with going to the kitchen or tabbing out to fix equipment.

Yes it is sometimes.
To be able to attack your teammates' multipliers now as some kind of joke of a mini-game to get your own multipliers, (hunting anyone idle for more than 9 seconds instead of playing cRPG)
adds nothing good to a game where you can already hit/kill your team, or make the team lose the round just by playing the real game badly or purposely griefing in other ways.
The successful "nomination as leacher" should AT WORST, send you to spectator team [so you do not continue to "leach", but keep your multiplier],
NOT BOOT FROM THE SERVER AND MAKE YOU LOSE MULTIPLIER.
I was so pleased with this latest balance patch I was going to donate again,
but till this is fixed I will not even so much as play the game; just gonna be here trollin' the forums. 8-)

Just today I was on the siege server and typing out a particularly long message (I type rather slowly) so I wasn't moving. Somebody reported me for leeching, so I felt kinda bad when i had to make him lose a multiplier. It made me feel like an ass, really. If anyways, pushing any button (perhaps one of the WSAD keys) would prevent people from doing this while someone's in combat, because most likely they'll be moving around (with WSAD, or SD if they use ESDF setup).
If anything, using the 'report leecher' thing should send a message to admins (assuming what you say is true and an admin is on) so they can go check it out themselves. Perhaps even make the "show names cheat" more useful since they get the name of the leecher they can immediately go and check it out without having to go spectator.
Also, the other day I was reporting someone as a leecher, and apparently it was reporting Goretooth (who was trying to actively chase down an enemy cavalry) so I don't know what's up with that.

2 of the times i got nominated where when i was in full combat so i geuss the alt tap browsing the website to game while being dead gave the griefer and open window to attack me..
Anyways if your where to keep this grief tool atleast change the key to RMB so u can hold block in combat so the griefer dont get any cookies...

On topic I absolutely do not understand why this system was deleveloped and put time in. There will allways be need of admins and so long as admins are online everything worked fine before the patch. Maybe it was thought to reduce the work for admins but like the others said here its only increasing the work. Now they have to observe if the nomination tool is used correctly, very absurd.

Word of warning to the 'leecher-nominate-abusers' out there: everything is getting logged. Some people might find out that their abuse had consequences after all. Trust me, it's not worth it.
For now: ask the leech-nominate-abuser not to do it and / or ask for an admin to kick or temp-ban the leech-nominate abuser.

Change it if its messed up to a 0x multiplier and remove the log off button and block alt x!
Or maybe some gold penalty, like you lose 250 gold if someone pressed M, and the -1x multiplier penalty.

Are you saying that you will punish the people who aboozed it?? that would make my day since the assholes laughed in my face and admin on the server did shit.. after i told them...... :cry:
Also sometimes its fuckin impossible to even take notice of who nominated you because in combat with all the text spam in the lower left corner blocks it out...
Phaz its kinda impossible not to rage when your lvl 25 trying to gain some xp on a constant team switching random luck roller-coaster and when u finnaly get some decent multi some random douche bag fucks it up...

Unfortunate that it's abused, but that's the nature of online gaming. I've used it myself, but I always give someone the benefit of the doubt (let some time pass, a round, or some respawns) before using it. Due to the way it's being used by many, however, (constantly, on everyone who's away for less than a minute, people who stop to type something on a wall, on opponents in combat, et cetera) it should be removed.

not that im an abuser, but i use this once in awhile (most of the guys are actually afk leechers, some just like to not move at all untill they get nominated)
Anyways, this just means that ppl will be afraid to use it when they actually see a leecher...
btw, the devs themselves talked about this as a mini-game and came up with plans on how to make people try to leech-kick you only to lose a multiplier themselves... doesnt really encourage not-abusing?

I use it sometimes, cause we still have leachers who just simply prolong match or just hide in bushes and do nothing.
But I had funny experience two times already, some guys hide without a weapon and just sit there and wait to be reported, then they hit M and continue to leach until admin kicks them :lol:

Just don't abuse it by trying to nominate people you know aren't inactive or afk.

Well, dead ppl can't talk to alive and if you are alive it's a bit weird to run around and talk to possible leachers when you have an enemy to kill.

Not a threat... just how I feel. (agree with you on the swearing though)
I really love the game; I want to play it and donate more for it, since I spend so much of my free time on it...
but this feature just makes me furious beyond any reasonable measure,
and there's no real positive aspect to help balance out the added stress it causes...
so... I'll just play other games.

It is a too powerful tool to be let in the hands of retarded. Remove it. Let the admins in charge.

I have already given the devs the only tool needed to address all admin issues.
Give us the ability for players to press a button an speak directly to the admins, they use it in the persistent worlds mod and it is fantastic.

Hes a douche bag but hes timeing is flawless he griefed me 10 sec after spawn when battle started so i couldnt react

PARTYBOY_IS_EVOLVING just abused it against me:
standing at flag typing something then I see all the red text claiming me a leecher (by him), then when I keyed to respond he killed me.
Exploits like this should not be enabled and encouraged.

I for one am a fan of the toll itself and often use it to report leechers, of course its open to trolling ad i don't deny i've used it myself #9but only on people i know :P)
Its always good, especially on DTV to kick the leechers who you know are just screwing the team balance

I usually kick the person that I think is leeching and then if they don't respond in any way, I report them. Most of the time they are actually leeching because they end up getting kicked. There are a few times where they either come back, or someone runs/spawns in front of me as I'm trying to report them.
