Simple idea
Probably a whore to instigate. But man oh man who remembers those crazy long, insane, rediculous battles that would go on for 10 hours at a stretch?
It would liven up the game and really change up the dynamic, taking cities would be fucking fantastic!

One thing that would need to be added though would be No Penlty for retreating because we all know that this would fuck up badly at some point and totaly fuck over a clan.

I'm all for removing the timer, but I can't condone doing it for only city fights and only on* one night of the week.

How would slots would work in these cases ? still 50 slots max and you got to stay up 10 hours ? :shock:
Or it would work like a normal siege server and everyone can get in on one side ? Does seem like the only fair possibility (this or a multi staged roster call ? a whore to instigate allright :lol:)

We had that in the past. People going on spect to eat dinner, have a smoke and drink, and returning to the battle one hour later :D We had the multiplicator as well (1 ticket dead on the field = x tickets actual lost)
The idea of long battles ended up in inability to have more than one big battle a day, ending in th middle of the night, and with ~30 guys fighting at the same time (the rest was resting, eating, smoking, reading books, watching movies, screwing girlfriends etc. while on spect.)

If we could have at least one big battle like that per week would be cool :P

Should only be done if there is a mechanic added were mercs apply for certain times (as in, merc A applies for 3:00am to 4:00am, then merc B applies for 4:15am).

They could also make it so the roster can be managed during the battle.

Atm one needs a load of tickets, and maybe 3k gear and one can hold endlessly with the looted gear in the town...
Timer removed for towns would add some depth in the strat map, making castles and towns require a different approach.
Roster might need some tweaking then, maybe not more players in a roster, but perhaps enable 60 slots, of which 50 can play at a time (10 switch ins, for long battles)

According to the Dark Hand of the Underdark (cmp) the servers cannot handle a full 100v100 load in something as complex/buggy and resource heavy as a strat battle.

That so called "Real Life Game" with these bad singleplayer storys but nice graphics is taking over my friday nights most times...so...no sorry.
