The Saint and the Templar Treasure - A Crime Club Selection

After reading this interesting book, our Mossad agents compared the maps attached at the end of book to current map of Strategus. There were several theories. Hetman decided to check one of them.

The effect is amazing! We found a Templars, who under cover of night trying to carry incredibly huge treasure in another place.

Two templars armies left the castles. Greys spotted them and attacked. One of the army has 100k crates. The other about 70k, iiuc.

And if these armies carrying not wives dresses (read Dresses) and boulders for roads for great city Shariz (read Stones) then it means that templals duped or bugused equipment and didn't report. ANd it is bannable.

Please correct me if I understood something wrong.

We will see when they have been looted, and that the list is made public, but right now we can only fabulate.

Is it against the rules to carry a ton of crap with you? I mean, assuming that's all you're doing?

Don't think it says so in the rules, but I'm too lazy to check.

Guys, it's fine. Bug is reported. And what now? No one responds. Do you want to use it against us? No problem. It's okay. It's not against the rules. Expect the same from our side. If it all does not make sense, at least we all should enjoy plenty of cool battles and of course XP :-) Good luck!

Kinda cool the items havent been sold, if they wanted to cheat with them that would probably been the easiest way to go... so i dont see a problem or wrong doing here for now, or did i miss something? They reported the bug, havent used its results and are only trying to keep them from their foes, which anyone would do.  Or is there a way to discard items other then selling?

They could always just sell them, buy new items, sell those, buy new items, until they're eventually down at a value of nothing, just sayin', shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Oh look, Grey order yelled at us in the past for "making assumptions" and now, well, here they are doing the same.

To be fair, the "assumptions" made were entirely accurate. They've now been reduced to trying to prove that everyone else cheats just as much, instead of just outright lying about it like they used to.

Except a bug that triggers randomly, what kind of cheat are we talking about ?

Which is why I said "trying to prove". Rather desperately too, since like you say it is a well known bug. The accurate assumptions I'm talking about was to Tear's refference to past events, i.e the Grey and DRZ players who actually ran the clan, fief owners, trading and armies getting banned from Strat for obvious multiaccounting.
Title: Re: The Saint and the Templar Treasure - A Crime Club Selection
Post by: Butan on March 01, 2013, 09:07:52 pm
But the only "grey" area we are talking about is with that looting bug, which, afaik, noone knows how to "control" nor "stop". This + devs not communicating about it means everyone can do whatever with those... Multiaccounting exists but the punishment is known at least  :P
Title: Re: The Saint and the Templar Treasure - A Crime Club Selection
Post by: Erasmas on March 02, 2013, 01:28:32 am
Let's see.

So there is a bug. We all know that there were several cases of item multiplication in various clans. Strat is frozen. We do not know what is going to happen, whether the bug will be fixed, whether the multiplied items will be deleted, whether there will be a rollback or wipe.

We attacked the castle of Templars. Suddenly, out of the blue, we see this Templar crawling with 100.000 crates. 100.000!!!! Damn Templar Treasure! Soooo, we have several options:

a) Let him crawl away. But what if the bug is not fixed for a longer time? Or the multiplied items are not deleted? Should we let Templols walk away and use it... against us, a little bit later? (Does anyone really believe they would do it...?)

b) Attack the guy. But he has 2300 troops... it is going to cost a lot of tickets and eq. Especially for a half-dead faction as GO. What if there will be a fix and multiplied items are deleted? What a waste of resources...

So, is it a gift from heavens or a curse?

Or maybe option c)? Try the luck, attack the guy, take some fun off the situation, and the battle itself (isn't that all about?) and show the world what we are doing and that Templols may not be all that saint? Ok, they reported the bug... Very good, but the 100.000 crates is still there and the issue is still standing.

Strat got unfrosen, the bug got (appartently) fixed and... the 100.000 crates is still there! No comments from devs...

So eventually we did take the precious Templars Treasure and not let them fight with it (BTW - why exactly were you going, Alpha, with these 2000 naked troops in the direction of Hoppster? Didn't you want to reinforce them with some extra eq you guys have? No? Oh, I'm sorry it is just my malicious mind playing tricks, hehehehehe. Besides, you were supposed to be inactive ).

That was a surprisingly cheap win, but the battle was fair. And fun. So, to be honest, screw you guys if you want to say we did something unreasonable here. Risky, but reasonable. And screw you if you want to say that we are the bad boys here, no matter how the facts look like...

So what's the deal now with this bug and the hideously large amounts of loot from it? Is the bug fixed now? What shall we all do with the stuff acquired? We encountered the bug once so far. In the last field battle against Shu Han we looted +1 gear for roughly 30k tickets. It is all still on me while we waited for a fix and a possible deletion of it. Are you all going to keep that stuff now?

This is what I was trying to agree with you. I requested and threatened, but without effect. We have rather any influence on what is happening now, but we don't want to be a victim, so we play by your rules - no rules just play. Like I said, no problem. Just let's play. Effect of bugs and bans already irreversibly distorted balance of power, so do what you want, just don't cry and have fun from cool battles and XP.
Look at it from positive point of view. Unexpected boost of resources may suddenly revive whole scene  :)

Actually its more like people are playing by your rules, that you've been playing for almost three years now. You are just experiencing recently. Indeed its a shitty situation and I wish it didn't happen but seeing you whining about an unfair situation makes me smile.
If something was going to be done about unfairness, bugs or anything in that field : you and your buddies would be nothing but a history now.

This is the first time i've seen this and i find it rather amusing as it was my F*%@%?G 100,000 crates!!!!

So I JUST got back from a long ass trade trip into the NA and i see 5 1600/1800 shiny grey order armys incoming, so at that point i know my siege of Etrosq Castle is cancelled. I say to alpha "Hey, you know there's 5 grey order coming here to destroy us, and were basically screwed." He says to me "Yeah sorry i quit strat yesterday. I just put EVERYTHING from the castle onto you. You should probably run."  So I wait till 2am and I "run"

Thanks for the easy teleport back to the desert. Enjoy your 16k trade goods and 90,000 crates of a whole load of gear you wont even use because it's not +3. Belive me there was ALOT of gear
