Title: What would you nerf/buff in your class??

Title says it all.

Please only mention nerfs/buffs about your class. Let`s keep this topic flame free, yeah I know it`s hard coming from me, but if I can do it, I bet you guys can.

Since I play polearmer/lancer.

Nerfs : Bump-Lance, Bump-Couch, unbalanced tag to most polearms and a small speed nerf.

Buffs : Increase the speed and damage of heavy lance (having to stab multiple times an archer with no helmet is retarded), and a buff to polearms damage ( to compensate with the speed and unbalanced nerfs)

i would totaly nerf steel pick cuz it dieal too much dmg,liyoavedao 104 speed with good animations also unstopable spamming weapon that can dmg even plate nabs,langes messer much faster then it looks it say 99 speed but  am shure that this shit is much more faster and niuawedao also noob spamming weapon 103 speed with good animtions and low upkeep.

All theese weaboo swords deal more dmg then any 1h axe but stats say different i tried all axes and all of them are shit except fighting axe.

'Ghost reach' has always been a problem in warband not just cRPG, the amount of times people get caught out by a weird added length really annoys me at times, especially when you can see you've either hit first or your weapon is right in their face

class: Shielder

nerf: some weapons like Elite Scimitar, Liuyedao, Niuweidao. Steel Pick is very strong but not op in my opinion due to its very short range.

buff: some of the cut weapons (swords) could need a (small) buff. It is very annoying when you often need 5-7 hits toll kill a medium armored player. Especially the cheap one handed weapons need a buff (compared to the cheap two handed weapons they are just crap). There are simply too many useless weapons. The stab should also be fixed.

I´m an archer, mainly because I suck at melee.

Nerf: arrows still do way too much damage.
Buff: if devs could fix arrows that they wouldn´t just go through the target all the time...

classes dont need buffs classes dont need nerfs

armor needs a big ass nerf, medium ones, around churburg up needs to serve their purpose
also blunt damage on plated helmets should have increased dmg (knockout sorta blabla)

I would buff higher melee WPF. Also:

Raw damage(without armor) isn't randomised much, it's between 90 and 100%. For both armor soak and reduction calculation, the armor value gets a good chunk of randomness with being between 45 to 100% of the shown value. It's Native and not changed yet with WSE as far as I know.

I would tweak how armour works so its not so random. Damage should come from something the players did rather than random numbers behind the scenes. I would also tweak how armour works against ranged. Heavier armours would get less stagger, and I would buff their protection against pierce. Some ranged shots shouldn't even penetrate the armour

I would buff some of the underutilised poles. Long Voulge, some spears. Maybe buff some of the 2 d poles. The blunt unbalanced ones seem a bit obsolete given the Poleaxe secondary. Only thing going for them is their price and maybe a bit more damage

For nerfs..Maybe make Long Bardiche more expensive? I honestly never thought Glaive was OP, its just like the one weapon that competes with swing length against greatswords so its the obvious target. But if people want it nerfed do it (assuming other stuff is buffed)

polearmer, but im only using 2D weapons (pikes). ill only talk about those:

buff:
*being able to hold your weapon infront of you to create distance between you and your enemy. if he runs into it, he gets the pointy end in his balls. also including the fact that you cant walk through the stick of a solid piece of wood.
*yeah you know it, pikeformations are useless and being able to hold your weapon in front of you as passive weapon would do alot, but another thing imo to improve this is adding unability to block multiple incoming stabs (would actually count for most stabs, yes im sorry to tell it but 2H would also get this too (imo))
*making it possible to stab next to a teammate and not hitting him (without having to do a curve stab) there just shouldnt be any dmg when a teammate gets hit by the wooden part of your fucking long spear/long awlpike). only the pointy end should do dmg, but this doesnt mean you can go through players and objects with the wooden part

nerf:
*ok first of all, to make everyone happy: remove the curved stabbing. this is something pikers need to abuse because there is no other option (its too easy to break a piker formation and start fighting them 1vs 1 right now). curved stabbing is gay indeed , but thats what the game mechanics force us to do
*no blocking for pike and long spear

ill edit this when i find what i forgot. imo there are alot of things that need to be changed to make this class more realistic and make it feel more natural (atleast crpg is not like wfas where pikes can do overhead stab 360's that turn a full circle in 0.5 seconds with a 100% chance to hit).
btw, panos: good thread, you ask our opinion about our own weapons. thats how it should be, not players asking for nerfs of other classes

edit 1: im a high agi player and would like to have a nerf of strength. Its just to easy to be a full plate strength mauler atm
edit2: but plate armor shouldnt take any dmg from a small cutting sword or a arrow that hits it. Pierce weapons are the answer (thats why they invented pikes and armor piercing swords instead of fucking fast scimitars)

Probably would work a bit of 2D polearms, because there are only few weapons that are good while others are not so good. They need internal balance.

I would also buff peasant and cheaper weapons which aren't decent atm. Would also lower maximum amounts of armor (things become strange at higher values) and tweak agi bonuses a bit. In general I would try to make the gap between those two extremes a bit smaller, because both extreme values are quite silly each in its own way.

Also some buff to cut damage of swords that are designed for stabbing. One handed stab isn't too reliable and swing damage of those weapons is quite low which often results in glance.

Rest is fine imho (talking about melee, I don't play ranged).

Buff: Stap(always glancing), damage a little bit, remove stunning when you block either with your sword or shield, it is very annoying

Nerf: Very fast weapon(Spammitar and co)

NB: It says mw spammitar has 100 speed and my mw italian sword too but it seems the spammitar is so faster

Not if your first suggestion with just 1 quiver max were in place. Would be stupid to not use the open slot for some kind of weapon.

Naked guy with no shield and a puny MW leet spammitar. Also I constantly grab stuff on the ground, mostly 2D polearms and throwing junk.

Nerf : the delay caused by attacking and being blocked should be increased. Left swing spamming should not be possible. This goes for all classes, but we have to start somewhere.
Buff : there is too much glancing in the early part of the 1h animations, especially the right swing.

Nerf: increase time needed to change attack direction, bounces for curved stabs

Buff: damage (less normal attack bounces, al least to deal more dmg than 1h)  and attacks animations (to make them less predictable)

Really like that suggestion. 2 slot bows will allow you to use a one handed weapon while 1 slot bows can be used with a shield or even a twohander/polearm. At the same time you should slightly increase the amount of arrows in a quiver and reduce the weight back to the old values.

But in any case:

Pole arm character

Two handed character

And a little throwing character.

Hmm....well id ask for the Long maul to not be included in the nerf to crush through. Frankly if you are holding a swing on this weapon when it's an overhead, you are either stupid or dead, usually both.

At the moment the overhead on that weapon is essentially just for support, which some may say is the point, but I don't see why it shouldn't be more useful in lone situations. I love team play, but you cannot always rely on others.

There is great fun to be had in holding a sideswing and then changing to an overhead quickly to bait someone into being crushed. It's never been a hard weapon to dance around and ignore and now it is even easier to do so. I cannot think of many people who struggled to fight a long maul user before, even one of the very good ones.

But I don't mind hearing a counter-point to this one.

Next a more controversial issue: Jump-shots with throwing. Now I understand that when most see jumping and shooting they may think back to a time on their melee character(s), when they were chasing some annoying little scamp who just ran and ran only to jump and turn while shooting them.

But from what ive experienced with my thrower, such a kiting technique is still quite possible and in fact more reliable now that throwers are merely turning to shoot or weave through enemies and they no longer feel obligated to jump.

However the absence of jumping does provide an issue of skill ceiling. Myself I cannot see how it is balanced or fair to remove the amount of non-game-intentioned******* options available to a player simply because of what he or she chooses to play with.

Now if cavalry comes a'chargin no longer can a thrower time their jumping and throwing to get out of the way and hit the enemy horseman. The point is that being able to do so effectively is a testament to the ability of the player able to do so with consistency and skill.

The same applies to that often overlooked skill of jump shooting into the head of a shielder as he/she approaches you. Doing so is risky, often at the risk of death for most and to be able to do so requires a very sound judgement of both that person's placement and footwork as well as an equally sound observation of the opponent's.

Neither of these are, (in my opinion as all claims of skill on this forum are), particularly easy to pull off. In fact the latter is more often unsuccessful  in it's execution than anything.

To me it is the equivalent of removing pike air thrusts or spin strikes. Player-invented abilities that improve the depth of the game.

Unfortunately I see it as a difficult position for the developers to take since if they were to give jump shooting back to throwers then they would have to face the wrath of people using bows and crossbows.

This is something I don't think would generate much support, nor do I foresee it coming back, but I wanted to offer my perspective on it as both a melee and ranged player.

What I mean by non-game-intentioned is some aspect of playing that the players of the game have invented or come upon in their daily playing sessions that are obviously not intended features. I'm not talking about exploits here, (though perspectively many might disagree), i'm talking about small strategies that players come up with as individuals that they use in their style of play.

Some of which become popular enough to make it into mainstream usage. Such as wiggling around like a madman while holding a melee strike, or pike users looking at the sky and then turning their stabs into people so as to hit with full force at a much closer range.

That last one could be considered an exploit to be fair.

Heavy bastard sword on +3 with 101 speed is OP as hell and putting catana to shame.

Buff : Remove the delay, Buff damage in stratgus battles by 5-10% or so - If I recall you weakened their damage awhile back in strat only.

Nerf : rain (Not just for my class but for everyone), make reloads longer.

Buff : Cheaper 1 handed swords don't compare to the cheaper  two handed swords, make them better or lower their cost in my opinion. Also most cut one handed swords don't do enough damage.

Nerf :  Lower knockdown chances with blunt one handed maces/hammers slightly, at the moment it just doesn't make sense.

My class : peasant (or tribrid hoplite/1h/throwing agi whore... yeah I'm masochist)

buff : add a new damage type for stick and torch because well because! also fix hoplite stab... it act strange strange

nerf : Am I not enough nerfed??

Buff: 1h stabs, they glance WAY too often, I actually only use 1hs w/o a stab as using a stab is way too risky. Maybe certain swords, their cut dmg just doesn't work with the amount of armor crutching that is so common nowadays. (Side sword I'm looking at you.)

Class: Horsethrower.

Buff: Ammunition, I do believe that 4 throwing lances filling all slots is just bullshit, in my opinion their stats should in general be slightly nerfed but the throwing lances per stack should be doubled (so 4 slots=8 lances). Make all changing from one weapon mode to another a lot faster.

Nerf: Speed bonuses need heavy adjustment for all ranged, there need to be some form of ceiling, I've been fighting HAs a lot, who survived two throwing lances (yes, one hit the heel, the other hit the arm, but fuck), because they were always riding away, some of the biggest my old friends around were riding coursers and just always riding away from what was shooting at them and they could take the hits a plated charger would die from, it should still be there but it should be capped somewhere along the line (in my opinion the ideal max speed bonus for ranged should be somewhere inbetween, both negatively and positively 25-50%, as I've always found it beyond silly that a plated 27/15 9IF tincan gets onehit off his destrier if he's riding towards me but a 15/24 HA in a deli outfit survives two lances while already being harder to hit due to riding away. ).
And damage our horses if we suck so hard at riding that we hit fences!

Force fields from shields on horseback

make bigger str req for x-bows

Arbelest 18 str, same req as 6 pd bows
heavy crossbow 15 str, like horn bow
crossbow 12 str, like Tatar bow
ligth crossbow 9 str

Archery should stay as it is. Any nerf will makes that too many ppl will survive headshots from +3 long bow and +3 bodkins...

I don't really like restrictions, but I will admit id settle on a compromise of increased ammo or better projectile speed for throwing weapons, at the cost of being able to have melee weapons, shields or powerstrike with powerthrow or throwing weapons.

Although I can see how many would see this as a poor idea, but from what ive observed playing my melee characters, most of the anger at throwers stems from hybrid builds, some of whom do little more than spam throwing weapons with abandon until they run out and then take out their melee weapons and get most of their kills that way.

I am probably alone in being a 2h user who hates the stab animation. It looks so weird and i think i have always hated the "hanging in the air" part of it.

I want the halfsword animation instead, like a langes messer gets when in 2h mode. Or at least the choice to change it permanently!
Id use the langes but having to switch weaponmode all the time makes me really annoyed.

I meant the hanging in the air that works like this: Guy stabs, you think the animation is over and release your block, stab hits you because it was "hanging in the air"  tears ensue!

When an animation stops moving it should stop doing damage.

Last two classes I've played:

1 Handed:

Buff - The thrust's glancing is the only thing that annoys me. The rest is perfectly fine imo.
Nerf - Not really much to nerf. The turn rate was already endured by all 1 handers, and stun is a bitch. If anything at all, I say nerf a bit the reach of the left swing which can prove a major cause of rage for some 2h users out there ;)

2 Handed:

Buff - Not much to buff. 2h is overall the best class to go with nowadays in cRPG.
Nerf - The 2h greatsword stab has become a trending topic in the community. A bit of the reach could be nerfed, perhaps the damage.

Reduce shield weights
Add blocking with shield while kicking
Improve 1h hitbox so its on par with 2h and pole no glance ability.
Remove 1h ability to get stuck on objects.

Bring back thrust radius for spears(not lances) on horseback.

Allow all 1h to be thrown. (This would be hilarious)

Buff: Ammunition, I do believe that 4 throwing lances filling all slots is just bullshit, in my opinion their stats should in general be slightly nerfed but the throwing lances per stack should be doubled (so 4 slots=8 lances). Make all changing from one weapon mode to another a lot faster.

for buffs, i would add, a better accessibility to the class, high pt, riding and HA skill is required just to throw 4 lances

Class:  1h/shielder/thrower

Revert jump throwing nerf, no logical reason to nerf it.  Cant even jump to throw over walls or get distance/inertia behind throws
Revert shield forcefield nerf, allowing people to teleport and hiltslash thru shields
Revert throwing/ranged hit detection, so many projectiles going right thru peoples models

Fix broken 1h stabs
Buff unused middle tier throwing like Francisca/javelin/hammers, give them more ammo/faster windup-to-release speed/knockdown/etc
Increase weight on high damage HACKING swords like Cleavers & Nordic's.

Nerf/Fix ghostreach on curved swords
Nerf speed on some axes, increase weight
Nerf speed on many longer swords
REMOVE rondel dagger from game

 I'd think as a fellow shielder for a few gens youd realize how buggy removing the shield forcefields made the game.

Everything felt fine to me, only during slight laggy times did facehugging 2h seem to warp through my body/shield and hiltslash.  Usually it was because my shield was not centred on him.

Any lag combined with bad positioning of the shield/good positioning of the 2h user seems to make things tricky.
