I think it's about time for this. Some of the big factions have donated their theme-specific armors to cRPG ages ago, so we in the Brigade thought it's about time we'd also make our contribution to cRPG by hiring a talented 3d artist (Zimke) to make some good quality historic armors for the game we all like so much. So, without further ado, here they are:

Zimke is awesome as usual, except as i told him, imo hooded Barbutte is a bit too much. But what can you do when the shots are called by a guy like this

Love 'em.

I'd make the Leather Lamellar Armor in the 6.5-8 weight range (and relatively increased armor values to match). There's just a big gap in armor at that range. Between 6.5 and 8.5 there aren't any armors at all (excluding the light strange armor at 6.8; I view it as more of a useful novelty item).

They probably look a little too good.

Devs don't like to make stock native items look too bad.


Also if they don't get added install it as your own texture pack replacing all the strange armours.

Already won me over with those hoods. I dont get how the hell hasnt this mod gotten some descentass hoods already in all these years. I mean the nativehoods look like shit and people have made some pretty cool looking modules.

it is same model as narfs brigantines with mail,so it will probably fit with zitta, and kettle hats. I tried Serbian armor with spiked helmet and it fits perfectly i have some pics,but i think gnezdovo helmet will be best choice,also all vaegir masks goes with it. Maybe tagancha and rus helemet. Use all russian gear and u can't do something wrong.

Neck mail is matching Churburg armor, legs are like all narfs man at arms armors, ankle boots are matching to the lamellar and to the narfs man at arms armors as well.
My personal choices of helmets for that armor would be along this lines:

I wouldn't say that. Many times people have taken a hood over their helmet. I won't say it was uncommon in medieval times to do so, it will surely be more comfortable to use a hood over your helmet when it is snowing / cold outside. etc.

The reason you don't see such things often in archeological finds is because leather doesn't last very long, when it's buried.

Many myths exist about leather, and first and foremost many believe leather finds are rare in the archaeological record. This is utterly wrong; we have literally thousands of leather finds from Northern Europe just from the Dark- and Middle Ages.

As long as the ground is acerbic or anaerobic organic matter such as leather will survive more or less intact, even for thousands of years (other ways of preserving organic matter exist too of course, see for example the leather belongings of Ötzi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96tzi), which are about 5300 years old).

We have several examples of this from Scandinavian moors, especially Denmark (for example Thorsbjerg Mose, Nydam Mose and Illerup Mose) where our forefathers were quite forthcoming in sacrificing items aswell as people for us to study.
Other examples around Europe include suitable deposits such as Medieval wells, latrines and graveyards and we have thousands of leather finds from the Middle-Ages, especially shoes - the making of which leather seems the favoured material for (leather was used for other clothing too, of course, just not armor; it's cheap, easy to come by and excellent as protection against the elements).

After not playing a while I just browsed the shop just to stumble upon some incredibly ugly easter armors and helmets - even some boots!
And after I couldn't find a trace of these great armors I was very sad.

I also heard every week that passes without implementing this armors one of the Fallen Kittens commits suicide!
