Biased Opinion from me (I use Greatsword):
Why is it that, HBS and Longsword get buffed to the point where basically they do as much damage than GS(I know HBS is 1 less cut). I know i'll get trolled for this post but just doesn't make sense to me why a larger sword does less cut damage. I'd be content with just a 1 cut boost. Thanks and apply it IMMEDIATELY!

it will make sens when you will lern something about that weapons

I will take constructive criticism when you learn about grammar.

Biased Opinion from me...
Well there you go.
The stubby weapons received damage buffs, but so did the larger ones if you look carefully, Danish is +1 cut, German is +1 pierce, etc. All Most swords are now notably distinct instead of "here are the 5 swords you will ever see."
-
True I am biased, I just want a logical explanation is all. If every other weapon above (on the shop list) is higher cut damage than Longsword, why is GS only one that is not.
-
Ulfson, think about what you're doing.
You're asking for a Greatsword buff. No, I'm not even fucking kidding. You're actually doing that very thing right now.
Just wait until your mother hears about this.
-
Logical explanation is probably between balance and realism, I dunno. Blame Fasader.
Regardless, Greatswords do NOT need to be buffed, they already have great reach.
-
BUFF THEM!
-
You're right it probably doesn't need a buff, but in my mind I wanted to use that to bring attention to why did HBS and Longsword get a buff...they were probably balanced before if not OP (before patch). Just not understanding the reasoning behind balance. Because now everyone and their mother will be just buying HBS and Longsword b/c they're the most viable.

No.

They were buffed for being short, and thus shitty. They were buffed because it was a better idea to bring the lesser used 2h weapons up to par with the greatswords, than simply nerfing greatswords to the level of less used, underpowered weapons. Realistically it makes sense for longer, heavier weapons to do more damage, but from a balance perspective where length is the king stat(length was/is king irl as well), it only means that with the old stats, those weapons were in a shitty position.
-
Why is everyone -1 ing? Great sword needs a buff. Even two hand sword has more cut.

Fixed.

Because it is geared at stabbing, not slashing. The normal Great Sword has a 26p stab with 93 speed and 120 length, increasing to 28p with 94 speed once heirloomed to +3. That's insane. That's actually better than the pre-patch German Greatsword for stabbing.

People think the OP is talking about all great swords, but he just means the weapon named Great Sword, which is a shorter, faster, and weaker German GS.
I'd rather see it get more thrust damage instead of more cut damage, personally. Or switch the looming bonus to +3 pierce and +2 cut instead of the other way around.

Says the guy that only uses a great sword.

I have one too, although I don't see it as much. The suggestion to switch loom bonuses is actually a pretty good idea.

First off, I can own u with a Longsword or my new friend Mighty Bar Mace anyday, maybe unless you were using that OP noob MW Miaodao you lobbied in. Great Sword is a nice weapon, but Sword of War is still a lot more popular.
Anyways, I don't think the Great Sword needs a buff, but I would glady trade swing damage for thrusting damage on it. Everyone knows most of the swords are the same thing with different models and barely any stat differences anyways, and weapons in other classes often get +3 added to thrust and +2 to swing if they are primarily thrusting weapons to begin with.
Wouldn't want it too high pierce and low cut though, because that's where the Estoc should be :D

Yea I definitely just mean the Greatsword itself sorry for the confusion, also you're idea on looming is a good one. TBH its thrust is great and is its best quality, but length is king in all weapons, yea its longer, but I see your point making HBS and Longsword at least viable by keeping the lower end swords up to par so every sword is used. I still think the sword is underpowered up against some of the higher end swords.
