Title: [DUEL MODE ADDONS] Group system for group fights and more

Simple idea:

You join the duel server, press ESC and select "Groups".
 A new menu unfolds with options such as:

"Create Group"
"Set Group Password/PIN"
"Set Max Group Members"
"Enable/Disable PvP"
"Set Neutral/Hostile" (against certain groups)
"Enable/Disable Free for All Mode" (death match for all members of the group against each other that enabled FFA)
"Enable/Disable Elimination" (temporarily removes you from the group upon dying until only one or none members are alive)
"Enable/Disable Single Tournament Mode" (All members of the group are first shuffled, then pitted against each other 1 by 1)
"Enable/Disable Group Tournament Mode" (makes your group eligible to battle other groups with a point system or with elimination)

Areas of Usage:

-Community Events such as tournaments, cups
-Adds deathmatch possibility without creating a new game mode
-Adds more fun to Duel mode
-Educational purposes like Training sessions for clans etc


Apart from obvious things like "It's going to be very time consuming to code", what are your thoughts? Additional ideas? Concerns?

All that I know is that I want the ability to fight at least 4 people at once.

If that was coded I probably wouldn't even play any other game-modes anymore.

I thought carefully about the features to accommodate many possibilites and creative combinations.

It's still limited, but if this was implemented you could do any number of x vs x. You could even have 10-man free for alls, gladiator style. A last man standing set-up, basically.

Imagine the excitement. :)

I like it.
I don't duel that much, but it'd really show actual teamwork and skill rather than who can hiltslash/lolstab who with their longsword.

I duel a lot, and I usually get bored very quickly. I hope this gets implemented because then I'd really enjoy my time on duel mode.

Seems like craploads of more work than its worth. Duel is cool and everything and id like to see those requests come to real, but I dont think dueling and this predicted and picked fights are something this game is really about. Thou the autobalance in battle sucks, id still say the only thing that really shows skills is battle. Cause you can be god in duel, it doesnt matter and is useless when you walk like a blindman in battle and get too nervous to block anything since bolts and arrows keep flying over your head and a polearmguy is swinging at you and you keep accidentally smashing your teammates or getting in the way.

Nice idea.
Maybe also reserve a small area (depending on the size of the group, never more than half the map), could be done by splitting ruins into 10-12 areas and then groups choosing one of them. This is mostly to avoid randomers getting in the way and trolling.

Remove HA track, make that a big melee arena and we got a real duel map.

Reserve small melee aren for fights 6players+

Hot damn you funny bro. Clearly you read things only in big red. And should I also copy the part of the rules which state no doubleposting and put that pic under it? Clearly you missed the whole point. Which was that it seems like incredible ammounts of codinghours for a gamemode that has like 20 players and the only reason even they are there is to train for the gamemodes what really make this game popular. Exept the pointsystem, were people litterally rage over loosing e-peen. The main focus on this game is still siege and battle. Duel is kinda secondary, like capture the flag etc. Like I said, the idea is great, but I dont see the point of it. Mybe make a completely new gamemode or something.

And PS, you dont have to be an ass about it, if you disagree.

Making a new gamemode will require even more coding, and creates another secondary gamemode to spread those few players over that don't play siege/battle so much, making them more underpopulated.

Seeing the huge amount of players aiming to get a bigger epeen by scoring high in the duel list it is more then the 20 players you say. The fact that its less popular doesn't mean you shouldn't care about it. Apart from the duel ranking thing not much has been dont for duelling in a long time, id say it deserves some improvement.

I was actually also thinking about making a duel map, with 4 areas and a central spawn. Melee arena, Horse track(arena with a jousting area somewhere in the middle or to the sides), Archery range and a big grass plain for mixed fights, with some ruins and cover here and there, for larger groups etc.

A central spawn with equal distance to all 4 areas and easily accessible routes to all 4 areas, would make it way more smoother for everyone to navigate. Compare this concept to what we have now, just Ruins basically and really stupid spawns.

I have a few more ideas:

Members of groups will always spawn on other members or on the first one who spawns (for example in elimination, you will get temporarily removed from the group or your name gets greyed out and you won't spawn until either there's only one player remaining or your group has been wiped out in for example Group Tournament mode).

This removes the nuisance of always spawning in the central area (and also decreases the amount of lazy morons who duel in the central spawn) and having to run back to where you died. Ultimately, Harald could make a code that prevents dueling anywhere but the 4 areas.

nobutsrsly - i think some events to do some of the things you mentioned here would be great, but it sounds like you want a lot of coding to implement a feature that is like 80 percent solved by clans and events on the forums.

what I think would be cooler and simpler was if there was some way to reserve a server for an event and do things like sell tickets etc from the website.  run it like a strat battle on na and eu 3.

get your tournaments and such without having to sell off a bunch of stones for tickets and other weird workarounds.
