How does trade in Strategus work atm?
You buy anything in 1 village and further u sell it the more money you get?
How and to who (ai or player?) do u sell it by the way? i can't even see any button to sell anything (though) i have some wheats.

Come to Amashke.. selling price is 22 there
-
you have to look under your inventory tab. there you can sell your stuff.
-
You buy from the AI and sell to the AI however fief Lords control the prices and can add a tax to the prices which goes to the fief.

and the further u go the more money u earn?

Probably.
But the question is : is it good to decrease the price or to increrase it ?
What makes the prosperity factor ?
Does tax is the only way to get money from a city ?
-
Probably.
1. But the question is : is it good to decrease the price or to increrase it ?
2. What makes the prosperity factor ?
3. Does tax is the only way to get money from a city ?
1. Depends. Low price is good for buying High is good for selling. Ideally, most of the towns in the center of map should have High prices while a small minority have low prices while all the edge fiefs have low prices.(makes trade routes from edge to center which is about a 50% bonus as 50kM is max and edge to center is roughly 25km perfect and quick) But that's just my way of looking at it.
2. You control prosperity of your fief High prosperity means you can buy/sell things in greater amounts. Still don't see the point in LOW prosperity as your S&D is low and replenishes slowly.
3. Yes.
-
I think I will increase prices. That way, travellers come to my town, sell their stuffs and buy some equipment.

Can anyone explain the "towncenter" page?
Location Distance (km) Amount Level Item Default Price Tax Final Price Seller Buy
Tazjunat 17,719.921 20 Slate 15.00 224.20 +1% 226.44 GTX
What do these values signify?

When you try to sell something, you can change the price of the item. If you do this, it is put on the towncenter page with that price. I did that by error and made a shitload of money  but I still don't get the sense of it

But who buys it? Other players or the AI? And why would they buy it since goods are generic (although with different names). I just don't get the meaning of this functionality.

me neither
btw how does distance affect trade bonus? is it linear or exponential?

And how high trading bonus can you get at around 50 km and over? I tried out with small trade packages and seen bonuses between 15-76%. Not sure how high this will go on longer distances.
-
100% is max. That's at 50km though. Anything past is wasted.
-
Hmm, the system looks a bit abusable.
If i would have two fiefs, then i would set up one fore really cheap goods and the other one for ass expensive ones.
So i could coin my own gold.
-
And thus, set tax to 100% in the cheap selling town to avoid abuse from other players :)

Well, it takes twice as much time to travel 50 km than 25 km, so theoretically you could lead two caravans at 25 km instead of one caravan at 50 km.
I'm not sure about the difference in profit between 25- and 50-km trade routes though. If the function is 2nd order or similar, than 50 km is your choice. If it's linear, I'd go for 2x25 km.

Just did a test run.
Distance: 27km
Final price:50(21 base)
Already made...well lets just say I'm quite wealthy by myself compared to taking two villages worth of money.
So...Long runs will probably be a huge bonus(or if it was this run it'd probably have been close to 75 per good.) Still wish we could find the distance bonus formula, but I like my 3-4 trade routes I have already created.
-
you can get 300% distance bonus from around 45km and after that it doesn't go up very quickly
max tax is 50% but it would cost you 245 production points to get it there
-
So best routes are around the 27kM section.(2.2x increase over base cost versus 3x at 47km)

And nobody would sell there :P

You're right.
The formula is =IF(Distance<60,175*COS((Distance*PI()/60)-PI())+175,320+Distance/2)
so for distance = 1...50 km, bonus = 175*COS((Distance*PI()/60)-PI())+175
If you differentiate it, you'll get a function with the maximum at about 29-30 km. That's where the trade is the most profitable.
The corresponding bonus will be 165-175%.
Nerds ftw!
