Following already finished all cRPG FALLEN CLAN TOURNAMENTS the other one follows. Invited to come is everybody - not only those that get invitation into their clan threads. But only clan members that will be able to form specified teams are allowed to participate in the event.

There will be multiple fights on one special map among multiple clans. No need to negotiate with other clans where or when or on what map to meet. Everything will happen in three sessions (qualifiers group A, qualifiers group B, finals) - if you don't qualify to finals, you will fight on 1 session only, if you go to finals, you will fight 2 times. Rankings of this tournament will be recorded and updated into the CLAN FALLEN LADDER (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,2080.0.html). The finals will be on Sunday 18:00 GMT

BASIC RULES
1 - Absolutely no fighting outside the ranked tournament fights, no jumping down the tribune, no suiciding or killing teammates to regain health (if you want to regain health, rejoin via spectator). No punching or kicking of other players!!!!
2 - Clan team size is 8 people, 1 clan can form only 1 clan team
3 - Maximum ammount of members of 1 clan logged at one time on the server is 16.
4 - The highest body armor you can take for the tournament is Heavy Strange Armor
5 - No spawning on horse, only Tournament masters can spawn on one. Always listen to the tournament master, never hit him back.
6 - Use the chat as little as possible, preferably only when the tournament masters ask you something. Spamming the chat will get you muted/kicked/banned and your team penalized.
7 - Server will be in CTF mode - if your team is called into the tournament fight you have to join the same faction as your clanmates. The first team called into the battle joins upper faction, the 2nd team called into the battle joins lower faction!
8 - If you're recording the event and you're not clan member, please appy here too so you won't be kicked.
9 - Server will be passworded, the password will appear here: tournament
10 - Maximum 2 ranged weapons / team (1 ranged weapon = 1 bow OR 1 xbow OR 1 stack of throwing weapons)
11 - No siege equipment (siege shields, ladders, construction sites) allowed.
12 - No looting of any weapons from the ground during the fights (like retaking throwing weapons from the ground, shields etc...)
13 - Common sense
14 - Rules can be discussed and can change further on

PENALTIES
1 - For minor offenses there will be a warning first. This warning can be a written warning or a slash from the tournament master. If the tournament master slashes you it doesnt mean he wants to fight you, it means you are doing something wrong and you have to stop doing it. Keep doing it and you will get kicked. Come back and do it again and you will be banned and your team will be penalized.
2 - For major offenses like entering the arena when a battle is going on or killing the tournament master there will be no warning. Straight ban and your team will get penalized.
3 - Penalties will be 5-15 points, depending on the severity of the offense.
4 - If a team uses more ranged weapons than allowed, the fight outcome won't matter, their opponent will receive a 8:0 win.

TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
1 - This tournament will be based on the classic qualifying system of 8v8 fights.
2 - There will be 2 groups for the qualifiers A and B with 6 teams each. There will be 15 matches within each group, everyone will get to fight 5 times. After the qualifiers are over, the first 3 teams from each group go to the Finals.
3- For every killed enemy your clan gets 1 point. So the winner will always get 8 points, the loser can get max 7 points.
4 - If during the qualifiers there are 2 teams with equal number of points, their places will be set by a 1vs1 DUEL between 2 of their members.
5 - There will be another 6 team group for the Finals, same system, 15 matches, everyone fights 5 times.
6 - If under any circumstances your clan fights with lower amount of people, your missing teammates are considered as killed (other team will get points just like for killing them).
7 - All participants will be awarded ladder points and new entries will be included in the Fallen Ladder (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,2080.0.html). For now I will keep picking the groups myself to have them as balanced as possible, after we will have at least 7-8 tournaments completed groups will be made according to your position on the Ladder.

INSTRUCTIONS
1- TOURNAMENT MASTER INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE WRITTEN IN CAPS, ANYONE ELSE USING CAPS WILL BE MUTED/KICKED/BANNED. IT'S FOR THE BEST TO KEEP THE CHAT TO A MINIMUM.
2 - THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS AND THE FINALS WILL BE HELD IN 3 SESSIONS. GROUP A FIGHTS ON SATURDAY FROM 16:00 GMT, GROUP B FROM 18:00GMT. FINALS ARE ON SUNDAY 18:00 GMT.
3 - FIGHTS WILL BE HELD IN THE BIG ARENA ON THE LEFT.
3 - WHEN YOUR NAMES ARE CALLED YOU WILL JOIN THE APPROPIATE FACTION - FIRST TEAM JOINS UPPER FACTION, SECOND TEAM JOINS LOWER FACTION AND ENTER THE ARENA. YOU WILL NOT START FIGHTING UNTILL THE TOURNAMENT MASTER GIVES YOU THE START.
4 - AFTER CALLING THE CURRENT FIGHT I WILL ANNOUNCE THE NEXT FIGHT AS WELL. PEOPLE WHO FIGHT NEXT MUST JOIN THE APPROPIATE FACTION AND GATHER AT THE ARENA GATE SO THEY ARE READY TO ENTER THE ARENA WHEN CALLED. THIS WAY EVERYTHING WILL GO A LOT QUICKER AND EVERYBODY WILL WAIT LESS BETWEEN FIGHTS.
5 - THIS IS THE TOURNAMENT MAP, EVERYBODY NEEDS TO KNOW WHERE TO GO.

6 - THESE THINGS WON'T BE EXPLAINED AGAIN IN-GAME, SO IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT SOMETHING ASK HERE, EVERYONE KNOWING WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO IS THE KEY FOR THIS TO WORK WELL.

REGISTRATIONS
1 - There are 12 slots + 2 substitutes available.
2 - Register your clan by applying in this thread - do not PM me, if you have a question, ask here so others can see the answer and don't have to ask the same thing again. Registrations are opened until Thursday, than the Groups will be decided.
3 - For registering: include clan name and visual style (visual style goes only to body armors while Heavy Strange Armor is the highest you can take, other armor is free of choice. You can't register with the same visual style as the other clans, except for heraldic armors)
4 - When you register, include also the time you want to fight the qualifiers or include that you can fight on both times. There are 2 qualifiers both of them at the same day: Saturday 9/04 . The 1st qualify round is at 16:00 GMT the 2nd qualify round is at 18:00 GMT.
5 - It is still possible to apply to the tournament and still not be allowed to participate. This can happen if you apply late when many clans will be already registered before you and/or if you apply for the same time like majority of the other clans - thus it won't be possible to find a spot for you in the qualifying group. To prevent this: either apply quickly or make sure you can fight on both times. If you will be able to fight on both times it is highly probable that you will make it into the tournament (same goes for early applications as these have priority over those that apply late).

Because most clans can barely get 10 people together, and with such large teams only 2-3 clans max could attend.

Great battle = great interest, couse it's true tactical and skill challenge for team/clan.

I would like to see large clan battles too, I was actually considering trying a 16 vs 16, allowing 2 clans to form 1 team and see how it works. Might try it in the future, we'll see.

i think one day there will be some bigger teams tournament. i'd like to see it too (i believe everybody would). big slaughter = big fun.

i dont think 30v30 is possible (most of the clans are happy if they manage to get 10 members). but 20v20 or smaller a bit might do the trick (2 clans could form 20 group quite "easily" imo). and opposed to gtx i think it would be less random.

Sweet, 2 clans in one team = 2 independent squads, that have good tactical horizon.That will make battle twice more interesting.

It would take too long to be able to make it in 1 day. I need to finish the tournament this weekend, because I won't be available the next weekend. A tournament with this system with 16 or 24 teams would require 2 weekends, one for qualifiers and one for finals. I plan to do it in the future, probably even the next tournament will go like this, we'll see how things go.

As for clans who didn't get a spot, they should really apply as substitutes, last 2 tournaments the first substitute participated.

if you suggest some higher number of clans, you should suggest also how exactly the qualifiers would look like afterwards. if it comes to anybody i believe we all prefer 30 clans over 12. but event should be fast and people shouldn't wait inbetween fights for ages. thats the most important part and biggest problem at the same time.

Groups can still be changed if somebody really can't make it to the time they were assigned to. They won't change much though, in fact I would prefer not changing them at all to keep it balanced.

Forgot to mention this, last tournament there was a bit confusion about the correct time. Due to switching to the summer time, everyone got +1 hour to their timezone. You can check the GMT time here http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/, this is the tournament time.

If any of the registered clans can't make it to the tournament, today is the last day when you can retire, so the substitutes have enough time to organize their team. Retiring tomorrow means you won't be allowed to participate in the next tournament.

Yes, I don't mind that if a smaller clan needs more people for tonight, however it won't become a habit.

I talked to Odin about this, the reason is a node between the danish ISP's and our server. Do a traceroute on fallenbrigade.org and you will see there is packet loss on atuin.rzone.de server. This packet loss combined with slower connections leads to the problem. Sadly it can only be fixed by changing our hoster, and I don't think it will happen soon.

Sorry for the delay on our part :) it was all very last minute. Glad we did it though it was a good experience.

However, we might have to refrain from participating in the future due to a core of our players having ping ~130 to the Fallen Tournament server. It was pretty much unplayable for them - and they're all from Denmark with proper Internet.

The server is hosted in Germany. Next tournaments might be on Shogunate server to avoid this problem, we shall see.

I'll try to do the next tournament on the Shogunate server to avoid ping problems (the downside is there are only 64 slots), Odin adressed the problem to our hoster but we don't know if/when it can be fixed. The long term solution would be changing the hosting, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

GMT time never changes (that's the reason it's used as standard), your local time changes with summer time.

Well, we failed the first battle due to frustration and my commanding failures, but i kinda don't get the point system. Mercs lost 2 battles, Shogunate lost 1, Grey Order lost 1. Mercs are 1rst,Shogun and GO 2nd and 3rd. M, okay. Good fight everyone anyway.

Mercs had more points overall. I am considering having 30 matches in the finals next tournament, so everybody fights 10 times, to eliminate the random factor. If the discipline is as good as it was today it is definetly possible.

Point system is based on kills: 8 points for the winner, max 7 points for the loser.

I think it's the kill-point thing, since the battles we did lose we still got some kills, whereas the one battle you and Grey both lost was a wipeout (or close to).

I would also like to thank everyone for the very good discipline you showed, it is essential to keep it this way if we will have 30 fights in the finals next time, to eliminate the random/luck factor.

Also I am considering offering a +2 points bonus for the winners (so winners get 10 points, losers max 7) next tournament so the results won't be so close.

we won 8:1 against you, it depends of the kill/death ratio

about str against us yeh it was stupid we were damn leading this fight and bam 2 tks and then the 2 other ~~retards~~ clanmates lost 2vs1 letting me alone vs 2 then i get killed because of xbow's opness, it was damn lame :) :lol:

The point system is really to be discussed, as the team who lost more battles takes overall higher position, I am not sure if works as intended.

And yeah the point system is questionable. It's like the last tourney where Mercs won all matches, but still got second placed.

Thanks to punisher and Fallen for the effort in organising this tourneys! It's getting smoother and smoother :)

Punisher & Beauchamp, think about this and what can be changed.

That's because the point system is based on k:d ratio. Next tournament I will offer +2 points bonus to the winners, so the winners get 10 points, losers max 7. Also I am considering extending the finals to 30 fights, so every fight is fought twice, to reduce the luck factor.

*Note: Even if this system would have been applied now, Grey Order would have still been 3rd, with 40 points, Mercs and Shogunate would have had a draw and a duel would have settled the 1st place.

I personally like the current system of getting points.

In earlier tournaments if you remember you were getting additional points for wins. It resulted into situations that if you lost 1 fight, you could say bye bye to the winning of the tournament - I felt like than you can't have any motivation if you loose in the beginning. A lot of fights were also ending with 1sided scores so I didn't really think adding points for victory would be needed. For example Roses pulled out in the 1st tourney a lot of equall fights and ended the last ones just because of adding points to victors - i felt this is kinda bad and I still feel the same. I like if the results are close as there is always a chance and it always makes sense to fight for it.

I agree. Give the ~~non-lifeless~~ normal people a chance, too! Don't change the point system, i like it currently.

I have a completely different attitude-always fighting to the end with total commitment and attention, even if it's doomed to fail, but when we're confident of victory (just what is decided, the last time, the failure of my clan). i know i'm being an real smartass now, but in vid the Guards vs Grey u can see on the Grey's side there are 2 throwers and 1 of them has 2 stacks of throwing lances, wich makes it 3 stacks in total on 1 team side, this is against the tournament rules :!:

According to the tournament rules, that means a 0:8 loss for the Grey. But because it was during the qualifiers it doesn't affect the final rankings. If you notice it during the fight report it afterwards and it will be investigated and dealt with.

As for the Guard's penalty, it has nothing to do with the current case.
