He can't write in teh forums unfortunatly so I'm the go between as it were
He's asked me to post here on his behalf and relay what is said to him :)
He's been banned for a while now and he would like to start playing again and I'd like to start playing with my friend again
Does he HAVE to write an essay and if so could you respond with the topic with as much haste as possible as to the content of the essay so he can start playing once again
Many thanks

No.

No.
... Would it help if I said pretty please?
Or that he's been banned for far more than enough time for what he did?
And could someone explain to me how the unban essays work? Does everyone get to write one or not?
-
essays are for those who get another chance.
you know some people really need to learn that some of their actions might have consequences which in this case would be a permanent ban from the game
-
Aw c'mon. Doesn't our basic upbringing, whether it be religous or political, teach us to forgive and forget?
Sure he did some bad things, but a permament ban from this mod seems very excessive no?
And if you do unban him and he messes it up again then he's had his chance. I see the banning as a cooling off period, and by now he's ice-cold
So please find it in your hearts to unban him as everyone deserves a second chance
-
Didn't they forgive and forget atleast 5 times already? He had the chance to learn his lessons from beeing banned and change his behaviour, yet he refused.
-
As far as I know, he was banned several times in the past and always was very publicly and in raging manner showing his disaproval of the rules. It's not like they are denying him his second chance, he already had that, even thrid and fourth (or how many times he was banned before).

Could you or anyone else give me HARD evidence, such as logs which I know exist, of these bans
If not, you CAN NOT take this hearsay into consideration when deciding to unban him
Please disregard the comments until evidence is produced
EDIT: Based on recent actions by certain admins or w/e you want to call them I am now stating that by do this I am breaking no rules currently set. Therefore, if I am muted I beseech you change the admins in this forum and the game!
Which is why I also suggest any game admind should be able to have playable characters on the servers they moderate. No matter how mature they are, not everyone can keep their powers unabused
-
Scotsman is very angry alot of the time.
Hes also very strong minded.
I do believe the bans he recieved were appropriate but i do question wether they should be permenant or not.
I understand hes caused alot of agro but im sure hes learning his lesson
-
Perma-bans should be reserved for those who do something really bad...like try to hack-attack and bring down the crpg servers or something.
Team-killing, racial slurs, or whatever else this guy could have possibly done I'm sure does not deserve a perma-ban...regardless of how many times he's done it.
Just my 2 cents!
To my knowledge, he teamkilled players at the end of the round and was involved in some sort of team-horse bumping. That is to my knowledge, not a 100% sure so don't quote me on that
Also, forum admins, I'd like to ask why the orignal thread for his unbanning was deleted in the first place? You managed to delete a lot of evidence in his favour there, if I didn't know better I'd say a cover up. But I'm sure it was simply an administrative cock up :)
And any adminds who do see this could you please direct the admins involved in this incidence to this thread as I'd like their opinion aswell.
Lillith excluded as you had direct involvement in this and your view is bound to be biased towards yourself, no offence it's what the human psyche does to us
-
Just unban him from the forums, let him write an essay, and let's get this dealt with.

Sorry for possible double post but the guy I quoted

His post has disappeared, I'd like to ask why!

Is this is the case I'd like Nemeths and Leiknirs post removed too, as they are based on hearsay
Thanks
Edit: Changed my spelling

If you think a post breaks the rules use the report button and a moderator will look into it.

+1 common sense prevails

He had like 5 bans to adjust himself to the rules. But instead he comes raging on the IRC-chan, demanding special threatment and that the rules doesnt apply to him.
To play the game, you need to agree to follow the rules (you dont have to like em, and you can start discussions in the forum about em). As Angryscotsman have clearly stated that he does not agree to follow the rules, and showed it ingame, he will not have the priviliege to play this free to play and free to purchase mod.

Sure, but as it is my ban, Im the one who can change it. Excluding me from this discussion is as helpful as to try to talk to random people on the street who have never heard of c-rpg. They cant help you.

Technically if it's free, there is no purchase
but
I've asked you to provide evidence of the bans please do so
Unless we're back to "admind don't need evidence"?

Why should I provide evidence?
-
I don't think questioning his previous bans and implying that admins were to harsh on him or even that they banned him for no reason is gonna help your cause a whole lot.
-
Why should I provide evidence?
Because, despite you being an admin, without evidence things you say cannot be trusted 100%
If you are correct, then providing evidence will do you no harm
-
i don't get why this isn't locked and moved yet...
it's kinda hard getting a permanent ban here and he really pushed it.
there is no need to provide any evidence as the initial ban was already talked about and his behavior lead to the permaban.
the ban happened it was a permanent ban, he will not play again.
playing here is a privilege not a right and except you no one seams to miss him on the servers.
