Hello! I was wondering what is the weight of armor that an archer can wear but can still be accurate. Right now I am wearing a Gambeson. I am trying to go for a Medieval Western themed archer.
-
Get Padded Cloth.
Personally i'd go Peltastos armor when i'll go light armor for my old friendchers/xbows. It looks sexy and offers a decent amount of armor as well as not being too heavy.
-
Try the brigandines or anything lighter.
-
10 weight in total, helmet weight is extra high btw.
-
As of the latest patch, archers can wear up to 10 weight without losing accuracy.
Helmets count double
Gloves count quadruple.
boots and body armor are x1
Even if you go above 10 weight though, it's not the end of the world.

After we cross that line is accuracy affected by all weight or all-10?

nothing

What would boots realisticly have to do with archers aim?

Gloves count quadruple
That's a pretty epic nerf to gloves. How about you change to x3?
This will affect archers mostly, kuyak clones with Heavy Gauntlets don't care about wpf, they just want to be fast.
Also thanks for sharing that info with us. You're a sweetheart, Shik :)

Gief explanation how currently weight affects speed. Armor and weapons combined and what limit etc etc?
-
weight lowers WPF
wpf = reloadspeed/accuracy/dmg etc
as shik said over 10 weight u loose all of it.
Anyways, a little friendly reminder to all you archers out there. Weight affects your speed. Keep it in mind if you wanna get away from those big bad meleebuilds
-
Didn't it used to be helmet was x3, gloves x2. Now its helmet x 2 and gloves x4. That correct or did shik get it the wrong way around?
-
It's correct. Cmpx said before they've changed it so gloves have more impact on wpf and helmet less.
-
oh ok thx
-
cool archers wear strawhats anyways.
-
You don't lose any accuracy unless you go over 10 weight (used to be 5).
Gloves count x4 their weight towards WPF.
Helmets count x2 their weight towards WPF.
Basically what Shik said...
For example, wearing gear that's 10 weight total or under will give you the same accuracy with a BOW as wearing no armor at all.

I believe so--something like that.

Leather jacket ftw.

I still want heraldric tunics :(

24/15 NA Ninja build is too fast.
-
Are these weight penalties applied to all servers yet ?
-
Not anymore.
-
I had Blue Kettle Helmet, Blue tunic over Mail, Mail Gloves and Mail Chausses and still had decent accuracy.
-
but does armour weight reduce all wpf's equally including xbow?

Dunno if it's equally, but all wpf's are reduced by armour weight.

IIRC they're all reduced by the same amount, but the reductions for melee matter (minimal increase in swing speed, wpf damage penalty/bonus) less than reductions for ranged (all of the above + accuracy, draw time, reload time)
-
Bump.
Anyone knows if this weight/wpf reduction change is only for archery wpf or general?
As I remember old system was:
(helmet weight x3 + gauntlet weight x2 + body armour weight + leg armour weight) - 7 points free armourweight
= Total Armour Penalty
So each point of ArmourPenalty over 7 reduce your WPF for 1%.
see http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,23607.0.html (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,23607.0.html)
Now it seems the new formula is:
(helmet weight x2 + gauntlet weight x4 + body armour + leg armour) -10
Now again please tell if this is a general change or only for Archery WPF???
I really would like to know, becouse I try do adapt my outfit efficently for high WPF use.
It would be nice to have such game-mechanic change announced in a more public way: Changelog pls!
Thanks

Do it. The Blueman's Red Friend also needs minions.
