Like the topic sais i would love to see a shieldbash/strike in crpg. Already the ancient romans used their shields also for fighting/attacking as for blocking. So basicly it would be nice to see, that you can use your shield to knockback ppl or interrupt their attack/action with some little damage.
What do you think about that?

Hardcoded
To bad b/c this would be freaking awesome :(
-
? its not hardcoded, lots of other mods that have it implimented, all ya do is hit mouse button when shields up.
-
Would be great, but if they do this they should fix the kick... Since it's pretty useless with that strange delay it has.

Can you get a link to a example mod pls?
-
would be an great addition.
Shieldbash should be balanced though by tweaking the kick a tiny bit so non-shielders have an chance to counter the shielder's bash.
-
It should also have a cooldown like the lance couching to avoid silly spamming.
-
Should be added, would bring more focus on shield users and make two hander spam less likely.

And make the huscarl/sidesword combo more likely, because we totally need that.

ff the top of my head, bratenwalda er whatever. That single player viking game.

No.
Shieldbash means that the shielder runs up while holding the shield, face hugs and bashes without lowering the shield = insta win. There is no function that the shield bash will add to the game that the kick does not have already. The kick was ruined in one of Taleworld patches as a weapon against turtles unfortunately.
-
I actually found shield bash to inhibit my playing, just from the buttons that are used in the script. A lot of times id end up shiled bashing when i wanted to swing my weapon.....which gave the enemy a free hit.

Shield-bashing was usually very effective during ancient times through the use of spiked tips in the middle of the shield of some sort. Before you say "Omfg UBER OP then", developers could implement this by making a toggle mode similar to the one used already for melee weapons. The shield could be toggled to be in "defense mode" or something and when in this mode, you can only thrust causing 10 pierce dmg or something close to that. Of course since this is treated as a thrust, you can block down on it. The delay would maybe be around 8 seconds and in the meantime, shields cannot be toggled again until the cooldown is up.

No we need some idiots going spam spam spam with two handers?

I think that it would be a brilliant idea if as said previously by others, a cooldown was implemented so people couldn't just charge in crazily. Also it shouldn't do more damage than a kick unless shields were implemented with spikes, which would actually do damage. As long as its added with care, with thought as to how to keep it from making shield users indestructible then I wouldn't be against this!
EDIT: After searching a bit in the taleworlds forums, I have found that this mod has something close to what we want. Obviously I have no idea on how to pecure/create our own though.

Just ctrl-f and type "shield-bash" with the dash.

Changelog: 1.16
1. New shield-bash attack. Uses left or right CTRL key (for lefties). Knocks down people near the player for a little bit, allowing you to backpedal and escape from being surrounded.
Sounds fucking nice!
