Title: Maps, that we miss...

Just post which ones you miss,  +1 the maps that others posted,  and i will put up a suggestion thread about adding them back.

I for one miss the desert map with two ponds,  first spawn on a hill,  second spawn at a camp next to the oasis.  Anyone know its name?

the old tower in the sea map. it was like an arena with two bridges in the outside and a big tower where everyone would fight (like xp barn)

I miss that map that allowed no mauls nor pikes, and everyone forgot how to block on entering where i could get 200-1 scores

I believe it was called "Oasis"

Also I want "Battle on ice" back :/

Yeah, good ol' battle on ice :( Really miss the map where one team starts inside a town, the other starts from the dock and charges.

That map is called Quick_Battle_Scene_2 and we might add that back after little modification on the spawns.

Now that i got couple holidays, i might spend some time for modifying some of the warband maps to work on multiplayer.

the big star like city map,  with wide streets,  completely flat,  all streets meeting on a single place right in the middle.

You talking about a map where one team spawned on a boat/Docking area that led to these stone stairs and a wooden door. There would be ranged above shooting down. Once the wooden door fell there was a Tower keep that the attackers would have to capture? If so I loved that map. :(

I'll pitch a vote for Arena.  There is a huge benefit in forcing conflict and quick rounds - if someone doesn't like the map it's not going to last 45 minutes.

that map needs to be remade; the terrain randomly stops cavalry in dozens of places

Two more forest maps (both with ropebridges)

1) one team spawned in deep forest, one at city walls. In the middle there was some ropebrige and platform. And there was a river.

2) foresthill. In the middle were two towers combined with ropebridge. Each team had one tower access.

Where are those? Bring em back!

Maybe they are small maps... but also small maps have theire right.


And some random village assaults... i forgot the details... there was one village on a hill the other side had to go throug a valley with baskets...

Was this map removed from the rotation recently? I really liked it, even beyond the gimmick of the giant pits. Really cool layout with the multiple vertical levels near the center of the map.

I miss my Battle on Ice as well!  ;_;

And also that one map, I forgot the name, but it was another snow map in an urban setting.

I miss random plains. Never see enough of that map, because it's randomized and therefore fresh every time you play it.

If only we could edit and tweak the randomization process, maybe add some rocks or basic ruins at random places.

I haven't seen Trouble in the Neighborhood in a while.  Not sure if it's gone, but I'm a fan.  It's a citymap, playable by cavalry, looks pretty, has good fps, and good balance.

Still on server, nevermind!

Battle on ice was by far the worst of all Native maps imo. Great map for invulnerable ranged camping though, if you like that. Desert oasis, field by the river, ruins, snowy village, those are the good maps.

I don't remember what it was called, but it was a huge stone bridge in the middle of the town. There was a building on each side where you could get on the roof and there was an alternate way to cross the water where you went across a bunch of boats.

Battle on ice used to be fun map back in the day. Many possibilities, but last times were rather boring since it was played the same way every time, over and over again...

I miss battle on ice, but only the days when people did something else in it than camp the boat and roof.. It was interesting and team play friendly map. I wouldn't bring it back just yet. Just keep it away some time longer and it might feel fresh and interesting again.

random plains is tolerable

random steppe makes some of the worst maps imaginable with 500 ft tall cliffs and uneven spawns
