Title: Swing types
Post by: Drehar on April 09, 2012, 07:15:08 pm
I was wondering if there was a list of "Skill swings" some where on the forums. I hear people refer to many different attack types. Any one able to shed some light on these attacks for me and maybe elaborate more for them?
Hiltswing ?
Chambering?
I would just like to know what people are talking about when they use words like this.

Heres old list I have, its still pretty accurate.  Pretty much the more reach, the slower the animation.

Weapon Reaches

1h
Overhead = +0
Left-to-right = +0
Right-to-left = +19
Thrust = +61

2h

Overhead = +15
Left-to-right = +17
Right-to-left = +13
Thrust = +80

2h Polearms
Overhead = -15
Left-to-right = -7
Right-to-left = -2
Thrust = +19

1h Polearms
Thrust = +50

I did a new and more accurate test and actually recorded the main part of it and posted that on youtube.

As you should know the weapon reaches of 2 handed, 1 handed and polearms are quite a bit different depending on type and direction.
The shortest of them all is the polearm stab.

Here are numbers you can add to reaches of weapons to equalize all of the weapons and their attack directions.

Polearms :
+0   Stab
+15 Overhead
+23 Right
+15 Left
+30 If you stab while mounted or holding a shield

2 handed :
+65 Stab
+45 Overhead
+30 Right
+30 Left

1 handed :
+40 Stab
+30 Overhead
+40 Right
+15 Left

Arkonor

Check this too. I don't wanna say that this guy is completely right or wrong. TBH I think that truth is somewhere between.

I was referring to the terminology mainly not the 4 basic swings but the types of swings players do. I was recently informed of what chambering is where you attack the direction they attacked from and you parry their attack and swing through. I was wondering if there was other things like this I should know.
