Is this game mode ever going to be implemented into the game? Or is it just going to be like rabbit and capture the flag .. I played the game mode in the public test phase and it was really enjoyable, and with a few minor tweaks and bug fixes it will be just about ready to go. I don't know if there has been a post like this already, so my bad if there has.

The stronghold tests were the reason I came back from a long break from cRPG. All it needed were some minor tweaks and less laggy building placement/ghost building plans etc.
I'd love it if this mode were brought back, even if it gave no xp or something until the balance was better?

Agreed, and they'd need to figure out how to apply multiplicators so it wasn't like the early stages of DTV where you could sit on an x5 for 8 hours

Shit. Why not give stronghold back and make it like the duel server? No upkeep, but constant x1. I'd play it anyway because of how awesome it is!

really sad, because thats the kind of gameplay this engine and game was MADE to play, not stupid simplistic team deathmatch crap from 1994

As far as I know Stronghold development ran into a hardcoded wall(too hard for WSE) that led to very laggy server performance when too much stuff was built.

Well, it is not impossible to revive it, it just needs a lot of work. None of the devs are working on it now, but I wouldn't rule it out for the future.

Well, it is not impossible to revive it, it just needs a lot of work. None of the devs are working on it now, but I wouldn't rule it out for the future.
It would be very nice if you didn't give it up. It was a very cool, fun and awesome gamemode, same as Rageball, and I, and many others, would love to see it back. I know we can't demand anything, but I humbly ask of you to put it back up on your to-do list. Or... isn't cmpx working on WSE 2? Maybe ask him if he could try to keep stronghold in mind when he makes it?

Just the castles, no building what-so-ever, or the ability to also make the workshops (blacksmith, fletcher etc.)? Would be nice no matter what. Actually, is it possible for clan servers to host stronghold? Not connected, but just for fun? I would love to do a clan-war through stronghold!

Awesome. Stronghold was a great idea and I'm sure many of us would play it avidly if it was revived :)

Cheers, Ozin, I missed the Open Test of the mode back in the day, because honestly, the idea wasn't my cup o'tea, but having you looking into it, gives me a new interest, and perhaps I might learn to enjoy it.
Good to have people like you in the team, people who understand the value of interaction with the community.

...just wondering, how does Ozin looking into something that you thought wasn't your cup of tea make it something you should try and "learn to enjoy"? Sounds like typical chadz is dead, Ozin is awesome propaganda...
