Now I'm horseman and ha are so anoying... So I want to do ha too, but is it big diffrence with khergit bow and strong bow on horse? I mean, I want this build:
* Strength: 15
* Agility: 24
* Hit points: 50
* Converted: 8
* Ironflesh: 0
* Power Strike: 0
* Shield: 0
* Athletics: 0
* Riding: 6
* Horse Archery: 4
* Power Draw: 5
* Power Throw: 0
* Weapon Master: 8
* Polearm: 5
* Archery: 173
And this:
* Strength: 12
* Agility: 27
* Hit points: 47
* Converted: 8
* Ironflesh: 0
* Power Strike: 0
* Shield: 0
* Athletics: 0
* Riding: 6
* Horse Archery: 4
* Power Draw: 4
* Power Throw: 0
* Weapon Master: 9
* Polearm: 5
* Archery: 181
Is it big diffrent with those two builds? I mean about aiming on fast speed...
-
u should think about a combination, since (community correct me if i am wrong) 5 pdraw with strongbow is not a good option - same for 4 and kergit.
i retired an archer yesterday with 170 archery, 5 pdraw and a fine strongbow - quite accurate with strongbow if u release the arrows instantly, but then i picked up a fine kergit for fun and noticed that it was much much more accurate and safe for my teammates... with the strongbow it's a bit luck where ur arrows go when u hold it for more than about 0,5 seconds with 5 pdraw.
atm i have 6 pdraw with masterwork strongbow and 140 wpf - still i cant hold it long enough. but i dont know if the solution is pd up to 7 or more wpf..
so, think about the kergit with a 15/24 build.
pdraw gives u damage and as far as i know still a passive increase to arrow traveling speed.
i dont really know what pdraw does to accuracy, but i think that with every pdraw over requirement u can hold the bow longer without having the reticule over whole screen.

So far I have done best with the exact same build you have on top, I did it with heirloomed Khergit and it was really good.
Right now i am in the process of making a weird HA build
Level 30
12str
30agi
4pd
5ha
5wm
3riding
uses khergit, bodkins, steppe horse, ill tell you how it goes when i get to level 30
-
What secondary weapon do you use for the HA? (1H/Shield, 2H, Polearm, etc.)
-
as u need more than 1 quiver u are not able to use a shield.
i prefer 2h because i enjoy it, but polearms are much easier to kill with if u dont have pstrike or wpf. just a lance and couch and its a 1hit.
if u have some style u will use something less "arcade".
i would say u should not give a single point in a melee-proficiency. as long as u do so, u can pickup/buy everything and use it from the same base... it depends on u if u need a sword, or a lance or a hammer or whatever..
-
You have my exact same build atm. I'm using the Strong Bow one and I think its fine. You won't be able to snipe people, but it should be a good support build. Horses, overall hits, etc.
-
I just retired my 12/30 build
was ok but really hard to deal out enough damage before horse goes down with only 4pd and the weak lvl 3 horses
I did heirloom my steppe horse so I may have another go at it.
I could outmanouver cav ok with the steppe even with 3 riding unless there were more than 2 riding at me.
my biggest complaint was the horse being shot down by ranged so fast. so the heavy steppe may make it a viable build.
I would like to try a 9/30 build but i'm not sure if i want to spend 3 heirlooms masterworking a nomad bow.
9str
30agi
3pd
10wm
5ha
5riding
I would really like to see how fast you can shoot with masterwork nomad with 10wm in archery

Murchad, you better try this Horse Crossbowman build:
Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)
Strength: 7
Agility: 30
Hit points: 42
Converted: 4
Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 2
Shield: 0
Athletics: 0
Riding: 10
Horse Archery: 5
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 10
One Handed: 1
Two Handed: 1
Polearm: 1
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 190
Throwing: 1
Light xbow, steel bolts, your favourite horse and here you go, no need of heirlooming anything to make it viable - it is viable as it is, with regular equipement.
-
I might do that for 1 gen just to try out...
but i'm more of a horsearcher rather than horsecrossbowman

Anybody have stats for a good Horse Archer build?

Anybody have stats for a good Horse Archer build?
I think the 15/24 build that the OP first suggested is the standard. Good accuracy and power.
However, if you want something a little more versatile, I might suggest my HA's build.
Htdplystyl
* Strength: 18
* Agility: 18
* Converted: 2
* Ironflesh: 0
* Power Strike: 6
* Shield: 0
* Athletics: 4
* Riding: 4
* Horse Archery: 3
* Power Draw: 6
* Power Throw: 0
* Weapon Master: 6
* Archery: 155
This build gives a wide variety of possible play styles. Plenty of PS to kill in melee, enough athletics to not be incredibly annoyed when trying to run anywhere, enough PD to use a warbow if you want, and still decent enough when aiming from horseback. 3 HA, in my opinion, is very viable, especially when using a slower, more manueverable horse. Slowing down a little while aiming also helps.

Atm this is the best you can do without sacrificing riding skill:
Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)
Strength: 12
Agility: 24
Hit points: 49
Converted: 2
Ironflesh: 1
Power Strike: 4
Shield: 0
Athletics: 0
Riding: 8
Horse Archery: 4
Power Draw: 4
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 8
One Handed: 1
Two Handed: 1
Polearm: 1
Archery: 173
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1

Sammael:
enough PD to use a warbow if you want
Trollolo!
Warbow and Longbow can't be used on horseback. Also, your build is shit if we talk about HORSE archer build.

You're quite right, I should have specified. I meant for use on the ground regarding the warbow, my apologies. While I admit this build isn't the best build to HA with, it is very viable imo. It also is versatile, which was my point. If you see, I recommended a 15/24 build as best for pure HA. My 18/18 build is if you don't want to HA every map, and still be useful in other aspects of the game.
Please remain respectful when posting please :(

Htdplystyl
looks like a fun build,
seems like it would be good at harassing infantry with the higher pd
if there is a good HA on you should probobly dismount.
when fighting you i usually had more trouble with you when you were dismounted when i was playing HA.
Idea for hard hitting HA, keep in mind i have never tried this build yet.
21/18
7pd
7riding
6wm
3HA
with 3 HA you have to slow down before long range shots
fast moving shots will usually be against cav so you need to be close
7riding should enable to to keep at a close range long enough to make some shots.
for melee use pierce damage weapon. morning star on horse, bec on foot.

Agreed, though whether that's a build issue or just a general lack of ability on my part is debatable :wink:

This would be very interesting to try out. I can imagine the hitting power with fully heirloomed bow/arrows and 7 pd would be pretty incredible. Sadly my HA is only halfway through 30 to his first retire :(

I am one level away from completing this build, hope it works out
Strength: 15
Agility: 24
Hit points: 50

Very strong bow
Champion cataphract horse
sharp bodkins

can't really go wrong with that build poophammer, it's the gold standard in HA builds
I do more WM less riding but 20wpf shouldnt make too much diff
with your horse at champ your manouver should be enough to avoid most cav and the light cav will die easy to 5pd arrows with your heirloomed bow.
My cataphract is only at spirited now but next heirloom when i have riding skill I will champ it.
That gear will eat through gold fast, which is much of why i have been alternating between HA and other char types. I am starting to heirloom some cheaper gear now so i should be able to play sustainable yet effective HA soon.

Lol Murchad, 20 wpf no difference? You should know better. Theres a pretty big difference between 156 and 176 wpf. I say take 1 off riding and put it into WM for even more accuracy.
-
Actually my aim is dead on and my horses are riding fast :D also murchad, my gold stock normally stays at 150k-160k even when I clown around in full plate on a plated charger or mamluk doing HA

gold really isn't a problem with me either, my problem is im a miser.
I have 700k right now but i am still really careful to use inexpensive gear.
when i said 20wpf shouldnt make much diff I meant as far as viability. i meant that he should be able to do well with 150
I am keeping with my 8wm build as i like the extra speed and accuracy from the wpf
but poop is more of a cav player so the extra horse speed my help him more.

Well, i can suggest u with 2 builds: 1 pure HA and 1 with wich u can have power strike and wpp in melee:
pure HA:
Attributes:
STR: 15 Agi: 24
PD:5 WPP:174
HA:4 WP:8
Riding:8
Converted: 6
HA build with melee skills
Attributes:
STR: 15 Agi: 24
PD:5 WPP in archery :170 WPP in melee (polearm, 2h, 1 h...): 51
HA:4 Wm:8 PS: 3
Riding: 6
Converted: 6
And IMo the best bow to use as HA with this build is khergit, especially heiloomed. Having a masterwork kerghit bow i love the speed with 5 pd.

I always retire at level 31 so i convert 8 so my build is same as last one minus the ps
I also use masterwork khergit but would like to try masterworked strong for comparison
I would also like to try masterworked nomad to see if it is viable
