Does anyone know the difference between armor and hitpoints for shields? Which stat translates into being able to take more hits: a higher armor rating or a higher hitpoint rating?
Also I know a shield's speed helps defensively, like you can raise it faster, but does it allow you to attack any faster? (IE, I can lower my shield and strike faster than I would with a low-speed shield)

So if you fight against a low damage non shieldbreaker, e.g. a knife, it will never break a steel shield cause of the high shield body armor. But if you fight against a shieldbreaker, e.g. an axe, the body armor will be more or less ignored (dont know exact value) and the hps will be reduced.
BEST SHIELD = TEAM MATES
Elite cavalry if you have 6 or more shield skill.
Along with that OP Huscarls Round Sield get an OP Sidesword and live the most OP setup in cRPG
Noone gives board shield love? Highest HP and biggest size. Also everyone thinks they will be able to outspam you, so..free hits/kills=)

I do like Board and Heavy Board (the latter seems to do better against the barmace) but they have the same issue all non-round shields have: they seem to fall prey to wrap-around more easily.
breaks fast vs Shield-Breakers
Are we using the same board shield?
Best shield is dented old round shield.
