Title: No more "one way inside"

Could the maps with some towers wich have only one entrance and such please be completely removed, at least till they're fixed.

It's completely boring to need to wait for a flag when there's shielders/maulers/pikeman + xbows camping a tower, just because "there's too many cavs outside". It nearly always becomes a Draw, because the defenders, knowing flags will come soon, do some suicide charge outside, just so that one single guy dies....

It's currently "the" map in EU1, and we're going for a third "draw". Hourra...

These are my least favorite maps - maps that seem like siege, on the battle server.

The desert city with a gatehouse comes to mind, one team spawns inside this city, often on rooftops, while one spawns outside and must raise ladders/gates to get inside.

That map was probably OK on Native where the defenders could choose to be archers, and the attackers could get shields or whathave you but maps with that much of a terrain imbalance are not fun on cRPG where you are more or less locked into your build.


NOW, I don't mind buildings that have one entrance, if both teams have something similar, or they are not very defensible, or in the center of the battlefield to be fought over.  But when one team can reach them a lot sooner than the other ,and the entrance is a steep ladder, that's a little silly.

Bring back ladders for battle! Then we can jump through the windows at them...

They should enable the flags. Its such a pile of crap when you get a noobish HA/HX (not rohy or the good ones, but one that has little clue and will pull a draw because they can or are ignorant) that just rides the timer down :/

The flags should always spawn.

Yes, the flags should always spawn at 2 minute mark.

Last night, about 2 hours we've played full rounds, there was at least 5 draws...

Just like in siege, there are dumb people playing battle who simply don't listen when you explain them why should we hide and stop fighting for one minute...

Maximum - 3

Siege is now a little bit better.

You could also have maps with like 5+ entrances and have multiple flags. It would make the siege maps faster pace. Siege has a lot of room for improvement.

If you could reach any and every place by at least two different ways, then it'd be way better.

But also making the flags automatically spawn at 0:59 could also be interesting. Or make people staying in the exact same 10m² drown.  :rolleyes: Wich would force them to move around a bit.

Just add a forced flagspawn at around 1:30, would solve all the camping problems.

I am still for changing the battle game mode to something similar, that requires taking and holding flag points, moving the focus of the game a bit away from simply killing enemies. Could help the community to grow some brain, perhaps, and stop playing in lemming mode.

And please remove all maps that can't be mirrored.

No maps with...

...team A spawning uphill, team B spawning downhill
...team A spawning in a village, team B spawning on an open field
...team A spawning in longer distance to the cnetral bridge than team B (this is an advantage for team A, yes.)
...any structure that comes close to a fortification, favorizing only one team

I know this means the removal of 90% of all maps. The choice of maps being used on EU1 is horrible. Is it really that difficult to see if a map is fair or not?  :?

Solution is to make MotF spawn every fucking round in battle.  It's been suggested numerous times, why wouldn't it be implemented?

Start a new thread for that, or go bump one of the 100 old ones.

Little bump.

Because i'd like to remain people that it's just not because of the high possibility of a Draw, but that all thoses one-way-inside towers are also game-breaking. If the only entrance is also by a ladder or some narrow stairs, you're sure you're going to find one shielder, one pikeman and one mauler protecting the bunch of xbowers and, let's face it, delaying.

Especially on "BATTLE" maps, we don't want to siege a tower...

So, unrelated to flags or anything, PLEASE add at least a second entrance to all towers, or just remove the "inside" of the towers with only one entrance.
