The Black Hand
The ashes of war give rise to a new order.
An order which knows nothing of the rules of war.
For this order, war is death.
Death knows no rules; Serves no king.
Bound only by their heritage as nobles of the sand kingdoms,
The Black Hand is born.
Being a part of The Black Hand:
The Black Hand is a Sarranid/Middle Eastern themed clan. As such, effort is made to keep members wearing armor that fits this theme. A list of acceptable armor for members is provided in the armory section. Some armors that could work with the theme may have been overlooked, and may be allowed if a request is made. Weapons are unregulated. If you wish to become a part of this clan, feel free to send me a PM on these forums, so that I may set you up with a ventrilo login.
Leadership Opportunity:
Recently, my schedule with work has been sporadic, seeing me here for a week, gone for a week, and so on. As such, I will be looking for someone to help lead this clan as soon as we get off the ground. Perhaps even take over completely, with myself being a normal member of the clan, should the right individual be interested. If you're interested in this opportunity, and feel that you have the time and dedication necessary to organize and lead a clan, feel free to mention it to me in ventrilo once you connect. For those not particularly inclined to lead, I am also open to ideas for systems or things to make this clan more interesting. I look forward to hearing from you!
Ranks:
The only ranks currently known within The Black Hand are it's warleader, standard warriors, and the dervishes. Regardless, all are considered equals and regarded the same respect. The Dervish is simply one who has taken a vow of poverty. Dervishes are disallowed by their vow to wear more than 10k in armor, or use any weapon worth more than 6k. The War Leader of the Black Hand is designated by majority vote of all other members of the order, and may change at any time. The War Leader is responsible for directing the clan's military activities.

Originally, the Black Hand was an unnamed band of Nobles, who simply came together in an alliance to fight back against the atrociousness of war. Coming from peaceful cultures, the idea of "rules of engagement" were completely foreign to them. Rules for killing people, to them, is contradictory. By killing, you're breaking one of the most sacred rules. Thus, no rules can apply. They used cunning, subterfuge, and speed to annihilate their enemies before they realized a foe was even present. Taking no prisoners, they crept across Calradia, integrating themselves into various aspects of society until their reputation disallowed such clandestine acts. Eventually, they were noted for the detailed henna designs they wore upon their hands. Outsiders spoke of such designs being worn by thieves, saboteurs and assassins. Dubbed "The Black Hand" by outsiders, the group found themselves less able to integrate into society. Unable to remain a purely clandestine order, they embraced the term "Black Hand". They raised a common banner, and took up direct arms against those who would bring war to the land.

ATS Disclaimer:I am, and continue to be a member of the multi-gaming clan known as ATS. Even in forming the "Black Hand" clan for CRPG, I would remain a member of ATS as a multi-gaming clan. I have received permission from the leadership of ATS to do this, while still remaining a member of ATS as a multi-gaming organization. Furthermore, we'd be using a dedicated "Black Hand" channel in the ATS ventrilo. By joining the "Black Hand", you would NOT necessarily be a member of the multi-gaming clan known as ATS, although if you were interested in joining, you would likely have the opportunity to discuss it with people who could make that decision.
