Title: Is (Pole)stun same as native?
Post by: woody on February 14, 2012, 05:39:38 pm
Anyone know the answer for CRPG?

ie in Native you can only be stunned once in quick succession so block twice no stun, probably in my head but seem to be getting repeat stunned?

As far as I know in both native and crpg there is a variable that prevents you from getting stunned while already stunned. You don't always get stunned on the first hit though, so you may be blocking twice for no reason only to get stunned on the second hit and then fail when you try to swing. Gotta test the swing every time.

To my knowledge, stun is the same in both. Just with the ability to customize wpf, you get faster weapon times, etc. I do believe i've heard that pole stun is a game mechanic and only works on certain items. But This is all speculation/remembering and I could easily have it wrong/backwards.

Dunno, but tested several times to stunlock people to death with a shortened spear and only 140 wpf (while leveling some previous gens) and the only thing stopping me from doing it some times was the "wiff/bounce" factor on armored players.

Edit: Weapons with knockdown have no "polestagger", if I'm not mistaken.

Ah yea, that's it! I remember there being an exclusion!

Are you talking about block stun or polestagger, woody?

Probably the stagger.

I think he means blockstun, but for clarification:

Woody, do you mean the effect when you block a heavy weapon with a light one and get stunned, or when you get struck by a polearm and fail to block it that it can cause you to stagger for a moment?

AFAIK you can be staggered multiple times in a row, but not stunned multiple times in a row.

Thanks for responses.

I mean when hit by heavy weapon not just poles, in native a charged morningstar will do sometimes, you can be slowed in a counter attack.

So its where a hold pole/heavy weapon whacks you, block, whacks again and when you try and counter after 2 successful blocks still delayed.

Not talking about when you are hit without blocking.

Thanks

polestagger is retarded out of ballance, poles already have the damage stats and the range and the cav rearing, this stun ist tottaly bs

Some polearms kind of need it, though there needs to be a delay before you can be staggered again, and all high LR swing damage weapons need it removed. (IMO at least)
