make the light lance 1 slot non sheathable. Less on horse fighting power, more off horse fighting power for polearm users, making it actually an interesting choice.
i still wouldnt use it, but for all the non cav guys who keep whining about lance balance, there you go.
older thought would be a higher lancing angle for shorter lances, but iirc, that isnt possible without changing all lances angles.
-
Light lance is already non-sheathable, if it were 1 slot it will be OP. Never mind, see what people say . (I am MW light lancer user)
-
Make it 2 slot sheathable. That would actually be better.

poketpiking infantry, no ty : /

Yeah 1 slot huzzah!
Then I can carry 4 of them and wait for the sweet sweet crafting tick. Daddy needs his sugar.
-
How about letting light lance have 28p base dmg and drop heavy lance 24p base dmg!

lets just take away the heavy lances thrust and couching ability.

Now that's an idea...

As a MW Light Lance user I say no. It is almost as long a Lance or Heavy Lance, it shouldn't be 1 slot. All other polearms except the smallest are 2 slots. And I don't want to have everyone using a Light Lance, I want to be special

Then 3 slots sheathable(Although that doesnt make much sense).
A sheathable lance would do good for diveristy imo.

how would a three slot lance add to diversity? i can change freely between my lance and my sicle :D
-
Well but you need to pick it up from the ground again after that.

Blood sonic, (Some cav from low levels), and me (Not anymore) used it,i still have my MW Light lance
-
Making Heavy Lance 3 slot and lance/light lance 2 slot would add some diversity.
Heavy lance users would be more like pure cavalry and would be less useful once dismounted. Light Lance users would be less effective on horseback but be able to take a better sidearm once dismounted.

I know I'm not the only one, but only few use it 8-)

You can't have a Heavy Lance, a shield and a 1h anymore then. Or Heavy Lance and 2h.

the dude was talking about making the light lance 3 slot AND sheathable. stop this 3slot heavy lance nonsense, aaaah! :visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I know what you mean Torb but it is a bit annoying that there is literally no logical reason to choose the lance or light lance over the Heavy lance.
You may have opened a can of worms here Torb.

Ah ok, didn't see that. Making it sheathable makes no sense, 3 slot is enough

get out of my thread, hater ^^

I don't understand this lance discussion. What is wrong with it? I see a lot of light lance/lance users. If you want to kill enemy lancers, then you take heavy lance, but if you want to focus on killing infantry and be able to strike faster, you take light lance, lance or even warspear etc..

thats just my understanding, but i have seen too many inf noobs talking about internal lance balance, so i thought a slight light lance buff by making it 1 slot could actually do a lot.
-
Fuck the light lance. Make the Great Lance (couch only) and the jousting lance (couch only) 1 slot. Them being 2 slots and unsheathable is just bollocks!

But who would want to use the normal lance then? Only +1 to pierce and 5 to reach while it is -7 speed and 2 slots...

To be honest I don't know why anyone would choose it even now the way it is .
I know this sounds unrealistic, but it would be nice if you could sheath those couch only- lances. Because they have no abilities on the feet whatsoever and no one could pull them off their arse when they try to kill cav. Well of course you can but there you just stand unable to do anything :D. Free couching lances! Seriously why not? 2 slot sheatable and you wouldn't be like a fish on a dry land.
-
hm. I would see tons of cav wrecking havoc amongst inf with those lances.... would be nice for 1h cav, but i think it would make op them a bit concerning inf.
-
I think we should at least a bit watch out for realism. And putting a 170+ lance on your back to fight with a 2h sword is just silly and unrealistic. So its even more unrealistic to put a Jousting/Great Lance with 220+ length on your back. Thats why I like the slot and sheathing system - its way more realistic.
It might be an option to give horses an additional slot for lances which can only be used as long as you sit on the horse. But it would make cav too OP again :?
-
tbh i like the way it is. jsut came to my mind whilst teading one of the latest nerf cav threads in which internal lance balancing was discussed
