Title: Donate Gold to an Alt
Post by: Stabby_Dave on January 30, 2012, 05:42:51 pm
Pretty simple. Give an option to 'donate' some of your main's gold to an alt character BUT dont give the option to transfer back.

Basically this would just makes alts easier to start up and enjoy as the gold grind for a new char is pretty annoying. This would also help with STF characters for events and such since at the minute, if you wanted a Cav STF to use in a jousting tournament for instance, you would have to grind for a while to get the gold together for just decent equipment.

Yes/No?

no, would make the game even more unbalanced.

Yes, for it would help take money put of the cRPG "economy" and help containe market prices. Currently, gold stacks up much faster then it is lost, and this would help fix that.

Just tax everyone. 1% of their total wealth in gold every week :P Btw send the tax to me for suggesting it.

What does it actually matter if the guy "ruins your fun" on main or alt char?

They can also do that on mains if they want. Either way they will lose the gold to repairs eventually. Most people would use this function to create fun alts more quickly. I currently have a number of alts which I cant be bothered to play since running around in peasant gear gets boring pretty quickly.

Because god knows Goretooth never does that on his main...

wtf is this fear of the rich? stomp their scrub asses like the rest that black armor wont save them FROM THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i always wear light armor and if i had the ability to send money to my alts i would

simply becasue i use alts to test builds and the less time i waste an a alt the more xp/gold i can make on my main

so if sending him 50-100k will do that i will do it

(on further thought i geuss im one of the rich now  :?)

OH YEAH, if this were to be implemented into the game, just think of LLJK.. they will all make arbalest sniper alts and play together on battle/siege at the same time, volleying on peasants. or perhaps they will all create a huscarl shield alts or maybe heavy cav alts, think about it. 6-10 heavy cav, or snipers, or shielders. itll become stacked and unfair and not fun for the other team. idk, i suck at putting my thoughts into words so.. yeah goodluck understanding what i mean.

Yes, because I want a 13 Riding alt named "THEY_SEE_ME_ROLLIN" on a Plated Charger. Never had to patience to actually grind it out, even with the 10k STF bonus.

No.

They can already do this, but don't. You would still have to level alts normally to even use the equipment, and you'd still need to level to generate.

1. Think about it... the gold transfer is one-way, right? So, the more you transfer, the more you will eventually have to play on you main char to regain the transferred gold. You could only farm your main as long as the main has gold, thus limiting the usefulness of transferring.
2. There are only so many general "classes". If a player uses a particular char with a particular class to gain an advantage, he doesn't need redundant builds, so the number of alts has an efficient limit.
3. The state of the game's equipment is such that more expensive gear is often not even useful, or far more costly than it is useful.
4. The Rite of Consumption deletes the alt, meaning that you might as well have gen'd your main instead. I don't see how the Rite would be abused with one-way gold transfer.

One-way gold transfer is a step towards the creation of an internal structure within the player account itself. Some players would have powerful mains and few, poor alts (mostly for consumption), and others would have more equitable systems. The type of structure would be heavily gaming-hours influenced too. The point is that it could make your current jumble of chars much more interesting.

I chose other.

I.e., you need a good reason to do this.

I dunno what the reasons are, leave it up to the devs, shit ought to be hilarious, everything is as is should be...

You could potentially disallow gold transfer to STF alts so that people cant just create Insta-troll builds. However, I dont really see this as a bad thing. If anything, it would be funny and very useful for organised events. In addition, yes people can transfer 150k to an STF alt and ride around on a plated charger and full black plate but that 150k just becomes dead money then - it cant be transferred back and is lost when the STF char is deleted to make a new one.

Im still trying to figure out why everyone is so bum fuck hurt because allot of players have over 100K in gold, So what we have been playing in c-rpg long enough that we can have that much money, Stop complaining and go grind some gold. Other then that it would be cool to transfer gold to alts and such, But there should be a limit of how much you can transfer at a time, maybe 20-50K a day or every 2 days, But if you want to throw allot of money around on alts then I'd be all for it.

do you mean on the alts or the mains?

on mains of course

but alts no because i hardly ever use stf due to the fact the require a lot of time wasted to get them going.so if your trying to test a build you need to invest in the time to get the equipment which based off the build can take a day or several days based on its cash needs
