Title: [STATS] Ashwood pike

Hey,

The current stats of the ashwood pike are clearly making it "OP". As some of you might know, I´m a dedicated ashwood-pike-user with a MW ashwood pike and can get (if I´m in good mood) insane scores with it.

Here is what I though of, to make it a more dedicated weapon without nerfing it too hard:

1a: Make it unusable with a shield. (its 1 longer than the awlpike, and the awlpike is sheathable but not usable with a shield anymore, so why should the ashwood be usable with a shield)

or (alternatively):

1b: Make it 3 slots. It becomes a dedicated weapon for non-shield pole-users and hoplites, but those hoplites could only take a 1 slot shield and NO backup 1h, so real hoplites (I know hoplites most of the times also had short sword or knives as backup weapons, but meh, balance is not = realism). It should have a penalty for using with a shield of course, but only a little one.

2: Make it more expensive. At least the same price like the war spear, at maximum the same price like the awlpike.

3: Make it 1 or maybe even 2 speed less.

I think this changes would balance it quite good. I´m aware of the fact that beside the higher upkeep this changes would not touch my personal playstyle too hard, as I do not use a shield anyway. But I´m a dedicated user of this weapon and I am asking for a nerf, so I guess I can be biased.

If a guy who currently uses a weapon on his main suggests a nerf then I agree.

That said, I think the main imbalance atm, and the reason why so many 2 handers seem to hand switched to spears/pikes is that the thrust speed on some poles is insane, even with balanced builds. I think this is more of an animation issue than a speed stat issue though and lowering the speed stat would make overheads with weapons like the ashwood pike pointless.

Completely not overpowered, awlpike is obviously better.

Those both seem like good suggestions. Either 3 slots retaining shield use, or 2 slots no shield. Can still use a Long Dagger as a CQC weapon effectively with a 1 slot shield.

Yea exactly. Id vote for for 3 slots with shield since hoplites already have very little options to choose from.

You still can use 0slot knive as backup weapon

Don't nerf the hoplites. Nerf it for those that don't use a shield with it.

I say 1 speed less and everything else untouched.

Fighting some like teeth while hes usng this does make it seem abit overpowered, but i honestly think the weapon is fine, its a nice compromise between length, damage and speed for hoplites which makes it a nicely balanced weapon.  The price could maybe be increased slightly but that's only a minor thing.

Stats wise i'd leave it alone.

Killing Casimir is easy though. If you fail to kill Casimir with a weapon, that weapon is up.

why don't they add spartans to this game lol to match the hoplites. spartan models are OSP but they just didn't post it in mnb repository , imao

I'm okay with that, if I loom it will have 1 more speed and 2 more damage than what I am using now which is already OP. Now I just need to find one of these things loomed.

Poor ashwood pike...my hoplite will never be the same  :cry:

Nah it's not that bad. 1 less damage is far better than your 3 slots/not usable with shields suggestion. A price increase is also ok. It's a great weapon for a hoplite and not OP in any way.

You really think they just saw my thread this noon and said: Here, lets implement this in the patch were working on for since the last months? Not really :D

You confirmed them in their plans! Moar whine about it being UP could have made them doubt! ... perhaps...
