Ok,
So I was fighting on this one battle map, and the setting was in a cornfield sort of place, so I was thinking...gee if only there was a way I could couch or go prone, so I could hide with my samurai ninjaness in the bushes and sneak up and ambush the passing enemy infantry.
If you have played Mount and Musket Mod, they have a "q" button i believe to crouch and fire a gun, now if we could get that somehow into this mod, just a simple kneel perhaps could add more strategies to ambushes and hiding. Would be an added bonus if you could make it a crouch+crouch walking, obviously a very slow process, but moving while crouched nontheless.
thanks!

+1 i would like to have it.
-
+1 would be great. It should take some time to stand up and get into crouch ofc.
-
What an amazing idea, atm I crouch behind things by right swinging and staring at the ground. x_x
-
MB Musket Mod have crouch.
-
MB with fire and sword has it too :P
-
Admit it, you just want to teabag your enemies.
That is all that people use crouch for most of the time anyway.
-
Crouching = Extreme Haystackhiding Archers & Xbowers
On the other hand it would be a nice feature

If devs can change that you don't see through the textures when in hay that wont be a problem?

I like the word "if" :D

If they can and if they want to

I don't really think that crouching is needed in cRPG...
-
Agreed - also, Xbows could be shot while kneeling - a small advantage over bows ;)
-
There is really no need for crouching. Do not support the stupid "hide and snipe" or "hide and stab" playstyles of some people. There is already enough delaying going on
And if you want crouch you would have to make it possible for every infantry, means also bows could be shot while kneeling and also things could be thrown etc etc
And there is already enought stupid crossbowsniping, so no need for more :/
-
Additionally, crouching/kneeling should be necessary to rear a horse with a pike or spear.

Don't you touch my horse rearing!
-
Crouching with a drawn bow should not be possible I guess, but I'd support it otherwise :D
-
It'd be nice if crouching was specifically designed to duck behind shielders, but you are unable to shoot/attack/throw/punch/move/block. Maybe then shielders would be able to provide a little cover for their shieldless arrow magnet brethren. :)
just my 2 cents!

Why not? Ever seens films with Native Americans? Or played games like Oblivion, Skyrim and alot more?
All of them can do that while crouching, because they hold the bow in a horizontal position ^.^ I think it is actually possible, but you have less range and maybe less power behind your shot

Archery 101: NEVER hold your bow horizontally when you shoot.
If the crouch (and possibly spear brace) is like WFaS, then it would be perfect.

Why not? I don't know if it works in real life, but in films it works^^
I think it might be able, but also much more difficult than vertical
-
In real life you can crouch and aim up and shoot

I think you will have to balance the bow much more when you hold it horizontal, making aiming much more difficult. Also you need something where you lay the arrow in. Dunno if thats possible in horizontal position - the arrow would slide to the side I think.

I want crouch to duck under a lancer or morningstar.
