Title: Incentive to play on the duel server
Post by: duurrr on November 23, 2011, 03:21:17 am
Seriously I don't care what you do, but do something :( It seems there was alot more activity back in the day when you'd get xp/gold for kills... Now the only activity is before a strat battle.

Would coding it so you get x1 when you're getting kills/killed be really that hard?

This. Just give us anything, even a small reward for fighting there would be great.

No because obviously people will abuse this and blablablabla.

Give us an incentive please :(

Nop, reason you go to the duel server is to avoid the xp/goldhungry mob. (to look for potential recruits)

No one plays ...
On duel cuz of no gain
On siege cuz of retardic teamswitches every fucking round
On DTV cuz the gain is totally waste of time.

What we have left is Battle which is basically roofcamp with ranged .We all play a medieval counterstrike on shit maps...

Also retiring doesn't make any sense since heirloom bonuses are very minimal and doesn't really worth the pain.Grinding to higher levels are more profitable but after level 32 you lose the will of reaching higher level cuz its so fukken slow . At level 32 you won't retire and you won't play hard to reach 33 which makes you hate your character and start playing with your ranged stf char as a result you contribute to CounterStrike rangedspamfest.

Need some change dear donk-ey.

edit:Unbanning Panos might work tho.

So heirlooming gloves and body armor to get +14 body armor is very minimal eh?

+3 gloves and +3 body armour =  6 generations.
8 892 403 experience points x 6 =53 354 418

to achieve level 33= you need 35 569 612 xp
to achieve level 34= you need 71 139 224 xp

If you don't retire and get those 53.3kk exp you'll have extra 3 stat and 3 skill points to use in your build.(Retiring at level 31 means that your main character build is designed for level 30 , 33-30=3 you get 3 extra levels if you dont retire !)

With those 3 skill points and 3 stat points you can add=

3 Strenght + 1 Iron Flesh + 1Power Strike + 1 extra (Shield skill would be useful if you are a melee class.)
3 Agility +1 Weapon Mastery + 1 Agility + 1 Shield or Riding
Or you can convert those points to get 4 stat points + 1 skill point or 9 skill points.

Lets say your build for level 30 is :
(click to show/hide)

you can make it:
(click to show/hide)
TA-DA you are a cav now.Put your points into shield skill instead of riding and become an effective support its up to you.
Are there any heirlooms that can make you immune to frontal ranged-melee attacks for a long time ?
Shield skill does that.
Are there any heirlooms that can give you chance to ride any horse except arabian and give you possibility to kill people with 1 strike ?
Couching lance does that thanks to riding skill.

+14 armour won't protect you from headshots but a shield will do that.

Not really actually. It's quite common to get shot in the head while having your shield raised.

Yay! 3 more points after grinding out tirelessly with no heirlooms to ride a horse that will get shot to bits in seconds! Or having a shield that likely wont even make it half way through the round against high pierce ranged/bonus to shield weapon attacks! As opposed to potentially heirlooming a weapon that can kill someone with one less swing than under normal circumstances or armor that will make people glance on me more often while allowing me to take more hits! It's definitely a no brainer which one I should go with! Honestly you could make an argument that not retiring will allow you to do more things and make you more versatile, but to say that heir looming weapons is pointless is just absolutely silly. The edge heirlooms give is incredibly noticeable.

By the by, my triple heirloomed Xbow and bolts pierce 3 shield skill shields like it's not even there and can one shot most unarmored non heirloomed horses.

Well thats 6 (SIX!!) generations and you still get oneshotted in the head and feet... I'm working on the sixth gen now and the bonus isn't quite that much as it sounds...

Actually, it will be more like 5 or even 4 gens since you will make so much money in this time if you use not too expensive gear that you will be able to buy at least one Loompoint :D

Gen 6, 10 loompoints. Like a boss

And yes, 14 armor is a big big BIG fucking bonus.

Take a look at one of the 46 body armors. Add 14 armor to that and you have a black armor.

Maybe I do something wrong, but I only made around 300k gold during 5 gens and was able to buy me one weapon +1. Depends much on which gear you use and I only use mid-tier-gear.

It´s obviously depending on the Skillevel and level of Gear.

I run around in gear worth 25k at Maximum all the time, mostly just 19,5 k.I make pretty good money and Iam pretty good suited regarding kills etc.

People who run around in 50k all the time obiously wont be able to buy more than maybe one heirloom if at all in all those gens.

With Rouncey around 45k for me.

See?:D

back when I was cav, I rarely even hit 30k.

I dont even know why People are taking expensive armors and Weapons, Tunic over mail is sufficient.

Ofc I can also run around in peasant gear, but then again I did loom my stuff for nothing

And I'm not one of those cheap archers

But its boring, I want my Light Kuyak  8-)
Title: Re: Incentive to play on the duel server

If you want your Kuyak, use Cheaper Weapons.

I mean, for Twohanders its Obvious that making money is hard if they run around with a 15k Weapon.

Just take a Light instead of a heavy Lance, take a normal round cavalry shield instead of the Elite one etc.

With a Light Kuyak and Cav Iam still at 26k(Rouncey, light kuyak, helmet for 2k, light lance, round cavalry shield, mail chausses).Add mail gauntlets and we still wouldnt hit 30k.

Thats exactly the gear I use at the moment, except I do have Lordly Scale Gaunlets. But I remember the value is displayed wrong for loomed stuff. Nonetheless with that gear - which is far from top gear - I barely make any money, its almost break even.

Then you're doing it wrong?

Well if you play an entire gen in peasant gear (zero upkeep), you should get 436.750 gold, if you are gen one and less if you are higher gen.
That's one way to do it :)

Hey, playing as a peasant is a great way to hone your skills. This way you can't crutch on gear and you are playing at a disadvantage... makes you only better when you put your fancy suits back on.
