Honestly, I mean really. I mean come on! I MEAN REALLY! COME ON! REALLY!
Far out.
Wow.
Boy does this game suck balls. Another AAA cleavland steamer has been layed upon my chest.
I'm sure it would be better on xbox or PS3, I doubt I'm the only person thinking that. On my PC is sucks a fat shlong, it hasn't at all been designed to work with a keyboard and mouse.
Its shit, there I said it.
Anyway, rant over.
Cheers bro cus brra.
-
Well, consoles are the superior choice. So go for it.
-
NEVER!!!!!!!
-
The game sucks because your pc is too shit to run it properly? Riiiiight...
-
Best game I've played in god knows how long.
-
Amazing game...addiction is already in place.

Yar. The attention to detail really is awesome. Wolves hunt deer etc, dialogue is much better (you can ask your henchmen about stuff that happened in the middle of the quest and so on), indoors areas look absolutely fantastic (outdoors too, but obviously not as good because of the huge drawdistance), guards might drop hints at a quest ("beware of bla bla on the east side of the river.."), Shouts are a fucking wonderful invention - not only are they cool as hell, they add a whole new layer of rewarding the player for doing dungeons and exploring (not just "wow, a diamond!" but "holy shit, it's a new Shout!").. some people have dissed the combat, but I think it's great once you get used to it. Finishers aren't frequent enough to bore you, when they happen they just add flavor. So much stuff to see on the roads, minor quests and new places and such. Also the, hm, transformation.. not to spoil too much.. really feels great, not just different visuals but the whole gameplay changes and really makes you feel like a.. transformed dude.
And there's so much moar. I'm a total fanboi now. This is the game I once dreamed Oblivion would be. Only better, much better. I can't even imagine how awsum it will be when the mods start rolling in.

Why make a new thread about it?
-
Go away Dangah you noob!Skyrim is the best RPG since more than 5 Years!
-
It's pretty good for something I didn't pay money for. As for an RPG, I think Witcher 2 is still superior.

My rage is hobo related. The game stinks like one. All drunk on port. How fucking terrible are the menus!
Love the game tho. BUT FUCKING MENUS!
And the voice acting, where is the turn off the retards button! I love it when you go see the Jarl at white run and as you leave he just keeps rambling like a crazy old man, "We used to tie unions to our belt, was the fashion at the time."
And don't lie xant, lie not sir! The shield isn't even locked down to your arm! I mean the nerve! ITS AN OUTRAGE!
Its a pretty good game but it shouldn't have all the fucking niggling little problems with the shitty menus and daft terrain glitches.
Always fun, go up something very high and power run. I tryed to bored a dragon, all I manged to do was bounce off its head and die. It was funny as hell.

I understand and completely agree. The console type menus are horrible.
But the game is fantastic and far outweighs the console menu that comes with it. There's just so much shit to do, I'm not sure I'll ever stop playing D:
-
I'm sure some wiseguy modder will remod the UI for the PC player's preferences.
-
Tbh once you figure that you can bind shit from favorite menu to keys, it all gets much much better :D
-
Damn you, stop talking about how good it is! I don't want to buy it, dammit!
-
"We used to tie unions to our belt, was the fashion at the time."
is it me or this is Granpa Simpson when he was working as anti-strike guy and he wanted to use boring stories in order to make people go back to work?
-
Lol?I actually think the menus awesome. The favorite system is very good and the other kinds of menus too.
very intuitive and easy to manage.

Lol?I actually think the menus awesome.
.. for console.
-
For PC also.
I dont play on Console anyway, only Coop games with Splitscreen.
-
That menu is one of the most horrible things ever in PC gaming.
-
I personally adore the skill menu and how the perks and skills look. Enchanting.
Prettiest menue I have ever seen, and I can navigate it just fine.
-
I see you never played any real Console Ports.
Skyrims Menu is easy to handle, easier than Oblivion.
-

No, not really. I try to avoid console ports. Last console port I played was Saints Row 2 and the control delay was horrible. That's not an excuse however.

SKYRIM!
the user's disconnected from your channel..
-
Once you get ust to ti it is fine I believe,
Though I would have no idea about favorite keys 1-8 if I had not read this forum
-
I learned about 1-8 hotkeys from cRPG irc channel :D
-
Hotkeys for weapons/spells were in Morrowind and Oblivion too so I just assumed they would be in Skyrim lol. Can't remember if they were in Daggerfall though.

Really? Are you playing with keyboard and mouse?
I have some menus, mainly speech ones where it won't let me go up with the keyboard and I have to use the mouse. And if I click on a talking point it goes to the wrong one, thats got me in a couple of bar room scrapes. Its so damned annoying.
Also shift-tabbing into steam when in a conversation menu stops tab from working and I then have to quit and reload. Even when I rebind the key I just can't go backwards anymore.
I don't see why I can't click and drag in the skills menu to fly around the sky like you can do with google sky or microsoft sky map. Its really easy to zoom in and out of consolations. It just pisses me off having to click over and over to get to the skill I'm specing.
Also I don't have enough hot keys to not turn combat into a Final Fantasy style pause fest. I LOVE THE GAME! But man its a bore to Q or tab into a menu to use a potion or change to a different spell.
I've got 1,2 as shouts 3 as my sword 4,5,6 as spells 7,8 as potions and I still find myself going into menues every 15 seconds in combat.
Anyway.
I'm mostly disappointed with how badly this troll went

Wow. I'm playing it on my PC at max settings and notice none of the issues that you describe. The mouse + keyboard are fluid, fast and responsive. The menu's are subjective, I have no issue with them as I use hotkeys for most everything anyways.
Sounds to me more like your puter is struggling and thus making your gameplay experience less than steller.

The menu takes some gettin used to but other then that i had no issues or bugs so farm.
Oh i would like to have more hotkeys other than 1-8 is there any way to bind items to additional keys?
-
Menus are fine in my opinion. The only one that annoys me are the skill trees. Moving side to side between the skills can be a bit clunky. Otherwise though, it's 10x more user friendly than oblivions menus.
As for an RPG, I think Witcher 2 is still superior.
Witcher 2 was far more linear. I like the openness of Skyrim and the fact I've played 22 hours and been to 2 towns. You can pretty much do whatever the hell you want. Both are fantastic games, but in different ways. You can't really compare them because they are two different styles of RPG.
-
Comparing Witcher 2 to Skyrim is like comparing the pakistani football 1st division champs to clubs like Manchester,Barsa etc. Don't get me wrong i think Witcher 2 was great but it's way out of Skyrim's league imo.
