Title: [Ban Request] Fallen_Leesin
Post by: MyBallsYourChin on November 08, 2011, 11:37:36 am
This morning I was playing on the NA1 Battle server when Fallen_Leesin made racist comments in regards to my name, culture and heritage.  I feel it's a typical stereotype I must deal with when playing online with North Americans.

As proof, I have provided an image containing three different screen captures I made.

Racism in any shape or fashion is not tolerated. Thanks for bringing this to our attention; one of us will take care of it.

How is this racist exactly? :/

I feel it's a typical stereotype I must deal with when playing online with North Americans.

Except Leesin is not North American.

You're asking how calling a Muslim a terrorist is racist?

You're asking how calling a Muslim a terrorist is racist?

What makes you think he's muslim?  Or that terrorist implies muslim in any way?  Sounds to me like the racism is in your head.

To this day, when I hear "terrorist", I think of Counterstrike.  For all we know he was dressed similar to a Counterstrike terrorist and shouting "TERRORISTS WIN" every time he killed someone.  We have no context.

"Abdul - Covert terrorist" is a very weak bit of evidence for a claim of racism.

That's like me saying "Obama - covert socialist".  That's racist because......?  It's a name and a hobby!

Call it what you want. In most cases, ethnic intolerance is erroneously referred to as racism but is often more simply called racism as it is universally recognized as singling someone out for being of a certain ethnic demographic. It'd be akin to asking a guy named Juan Pedro Lopez what part of the border fence he climbed under to get to America, which is just as severe as calling someone a racial slur. I'm going to lock the thread stop all of this quibbling. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention, MBYC. Appropriate action will be taken.
